Rumor Mill

These are from late January ~ early February:

1. Top stars A and B recently showed interest in one another but it seems that was just short lived. A chose B as his ideal type on a TV show once and showed direct interest in her. The two later met several times on other TV shows and their relationship quickly took off. Once rumors began spreading, however, A put an end to them. He told his agency, "We only slept together once, we're not of any relationship at all so don't let any articles leak out about it." A never met with B after that, leading one industry rep to say, "It's weird because A was so interested in B but it feels as if B was kicked to the curb."

2. One company is heaving deep sighs of frustration. After investing over $1 million usd in popular idol group C, they're not getting the results they expected. This company has had some of the most popular idol stars and actors as their models but they invested the most in C hoping for big results. Unfortunately for them, their income is actually on the decline, leading the company to do actually worse than when they had their previous actor. A rep commented, "They're only the best when it comes to popularity. Their income skill is the worst. There's a contract time so we can't even swap them out. It's especially upsetting because C's reps aren't compliant with promotions either."

3. Ever since the drama 'You Who Came From the Stars' took off, a lot of attention has been put on Chun Songyi's family background, especially because it hits closer to home for most industry insiders than you'd think. One commented, "There are a lot of mothers way worse than Chun Songyi's mother. They act as if they have the celebrity disease themselves and order the company to do this and that and treat the managers as if they are slaves. I'm sure there are a lot of celebrity families who felt targeted by the portrayal of Chun Songyi's family on TV."

4. Female celebrity A is on the watch by her company because of her drinking habits. Normally known for her calm and clean image, her company thought they wouldn't have to worry about her until she was spotted by others walking around late at night drunk. The company has put her under security watch. An industry rep commented, "A used to live a free life but she's basically living in her company's prison because of her drinking habits."

5. Stars have been spotted going on ultra secret dates in hideaway pensions deep in the countryside of Kangwondo. With beautiful scenery and ultimate security, it's quite a popular area among top stars, with many arriving late at night and leaving early in the morning. Recently, there have been rumors of an idol star who is currently in the middle of promotions visiting the place. The surprising part is that he isn't just there with a girl but often a drunken woman with two or more men staying in a pension together at once. Shocking rumors tell about the provocative activities they're involved in once inside, but only the pension manager knows, who commented, "The trend lately seems to be threesomes?"

6. Girl group D is said to be actively dating this winter. Unsurprisingly enough, the CEO is mad not because the entire group is dating (not just one or two members) but because they're all dating other male celebrities who are below them in terms of public popularity. The CEO says he'd rather they date someone more popular for the headlines but one is dating an ex-audition show musician and another, the least popular member of a fellow idol group. They might as well be dating out in the open!
