EXO and BAP as the rising boy group trends

Article: 'Two years running' how did EXO vs B.A.P become the 'trend'

Source:
Star News via Naver

1. [+226, -15] I'll be honest, I'm an EXO fan but I admit that their company had a lot to do with their popularity whereas BAP's company is powerless

2. [+212, -12] Up to last year, it was EXO>BAP... but I think it's the other way around now because BAP's company lacks power and their fanbase has trouble unifying. Their digital rank keeps falling down... but I still gotta give props to them for coming as far as they have under a small company. EXO is doing just as well despite getting a lot of company help.

3. [+201, -55] EXO wouldn't have come this far without their company power ㅋ INFINITE's truly amazing if you think about all they've achieved considering their circumstances

4. [+117, -8] They're both the trends but the difference lies in how respectful their fans are...

5. [+107, -10] I wouldn't call them a trend quite yet considering there are still a lot of people who don't know these groups

6. [+104, -43] Seeing EXO makes B2ST and INFINITE seem more impressive (smaller companies)

7. [+56, -7] It'd be more difficult to find a group that failed under the SM title ㅋㅋㅋ

8. [+43, -4] As an EXO fan, I'll be the first to admit that their popularity is largely attributed to their company power

9. [+36, -2] EXO's already two years into their debut????

10. [+55, -25] I also think EXO has come this far thanks to their company ㅋㅋㅋ with a combination of their fans and talents ㅋㅋㅋ but that makes INFINITE, SISTAR, and B2ST seem more amazing with their accomplishments since their companies are so small but they managed to climb this far up.

lol what no. neither of these boybands are even two years old yet wtf journalist

..am I the only one confused with this statement :S

  4. no...im baffled too...??

Can't get anymore agree - but it isn't EXO's fault to have big company behind their back.

    ReplyDelete
  6. gotta admit they're true..

    ReplyDelete
  7. gotta admit it fangirls ...

    ReplyDelete
  8. i think they tend to add another year. big bang just had their 7th year anniversary, but Seungri refers to it as 8... it's like how they add a year to their age. in the US, they'd be 24... but in Korea, they'd be 25.

    ReplyDelete
  9. What BAP needs to do is take a break. Build some anticipation for their upcoming releases. Make people miss them first. Make the fans thirsty for something.

    ReplyDelete
  10. [+201, -55] EXO wouldn't have come this far without their company power ㅋ

i'm a fan but i agree tbh lol, exo really has so many fans like they really have a large fanbase +_+

    as for bap, i kinda feel bad for them to be honest like they had so many comebacks last year meanwhile exo only had their debut song which was MAMA, and yet they got the rookie group awards last year lol;;;

    ReplyDelete
  11. lol i think it was the other way around now? EXO is gaining more attention than BAP lately

    ReplyDelete
  12. But b.a.p is more popular in korea btw.....

    TRUE DAT^

    ReplyDelete
  14. in Korea BAP's fandom is really ambiguous whereas exo's fandom is REALLY obvious :P spent 1 month in Seoul so yah..x D

    ReplyDelete
  15. [+56, -7] It'd be more difficult to find a group that failed under the SM title ㅋㅋㅋ

    lol true

    ReplyDelete
  16. i think it was a typo. i looked at the article and the comment said "up to last year, it was EXO<BAP..."

    ReplyDelete
  17. then why are their digitals and physicals are nowhere near as good as exos...?

    ReplyDelete
  18. There are a few, though. Blackbeat, for example, is one. Won a Best New Artist Award yet never even got to release a 2nd album.

    ReplyDelete
  19. i think it's a typo. i looked at the article and it said "Up to last year, it was EXO<BAP..."

    ReplyDelete
  20. so true EXO is an item right now? or BAP? or even Crayon Pop?

    ReplyDelete
  21. yeah wouldn't it make more sense if they said BAP>EXO for last year seeing as EXO had like a 1 year haitus? EXO is definitely getting more attention right now. *shrug*

    ReplyDelete
  22. company power? diehard fans? popularity doesn't exactly translate to the sales. I'd say popularity is more to do with recognition rather than sales.

    ReplyDelete
  23. what exactly do you mean by obvious?

    ReplyDelete
  24. The article is about EXO and B.A.P but netizens are talking about EXO, B2ST and INFINITE.

    ReplyDelete
  25. [+56, -7] It'd be more difficult to find a group that failed under the SM title ㅋㅋㅋ

    BLACK BEAT

    ReplyDelete
  26. EXO fame = SM Power

    ReplyDelete
  27. fail lol

"The article is about EXO and B.A.P but netizens are talking about EXO, B2ST and INFINITE."

    ReplyDelete
  28. Oh god EXO vs. BAP fandom feud. Seriously it's been a long time since I've seen fans attack eachother so much.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I want to see what is going to happen when WINNER gets the chance to debut.

    ReplyDelete
  30. 7. [+56, -7] It'd be more difficult to find a group that failed under the SM title ㅋㅋㅋ

    Actually it's pretty easy.

    ReplyDelete
  31. BAP???? seriously???

    ReplyDelete
  32. SME has its fair share of failed artists/groups. Just because someone debuted from SM it means they're going to be a hit. But since SM has a lot of successful artists, people sometimes forget that.

    ReplyDelete
  33. like exo fans would walk around with exo tshirts or other items and exo itself is really big in Seoul they're everywhere in the shopping malls and they even opened a shop near gangnam to sell their new BWCW brand, but BAP only appears on music program and you almost never hear their songs on the street
i remember hearing exo songs everywhere in hongdae and ppl would actually sing along when they pass

    ReplyDelete
  34. He does not know how to properly use the < > sign.

    ReplyDelete
  35. DEFINITELY!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. oh weird i thought it only applies to human age. thanks

    ReplyDelete
  37. 4. [+117, -8] They're both the trends but the difference lies in how respectful their fans are...

idk, I think both fandoms can be batshit crazy sometimes

    ReplyDelete
  38. I totally agree. I was anticipating Coffee Shop and I enjoyed it. But I lost interest when Badman was released. To me it was like: look and yet another song! Such a shame cuz they deserve a lot of attention. TS dafuq u doing?

    ReplyDelete
  39. but B2ST company is not small?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Its not even going to be EXO vs BAP anymore, but YG Boy group (can't bring myself to call them 'Winner') vs. EXO

    ReplyDelete
  41. the original post said "엑소<비에이피" it's just that NB made a typo =P

    ReplyDelete
  42. Your right, it should've been EXO<BAP. Simple typo.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I am EXO's fan, but damn. B.A.P is more popular than EXO last year. But with EXO's comeback now, they boomed so much popularity. I might be hated for this, but it's also because of the power of EXO's company that's why EXO have so much fans. But let us not also forget the hardwork and effort that EXO gave.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Ironically, in 2012 I was rooting for BAP more then EXO. In 2013, I kinda became 'Bapped-Out' after the overkill of releases and now enjoy EXO more. Nonetheless, they are two groups with two VERY differant styles and have something for all types of music tastes. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  45. It was, but Beast and 4Minute created a name for it.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I think people easily forget that it must have been really difficult for Exo to get where they are now because of SM. In SM the competition will inevitably be a lot fiercer than in other companies. But I definitely see the both of them becoming big. I'm concerned for BAP, because their company honestly isn't doing them any favors. Too many comebacks, too many concerts. They will burn out.

    ReplyDelete
  47. i enjoyed coffee shop, and badman was decent. hurricane on the other hand...

    ReplyDelete
  48. Cube was really small when Beast first started out. The only active artist was 4minute and AJ has failed.

    ReplyDelete
  49. i hope bap can pull and infinite some day...poor boys work their asses off with all those crazy releases..

    ReplyDelete
  50. You can say EXO got it easy for having such a power company as backup, but i'm sure the journey for them to get into EXO in the first place sure aint easy. Just think about the competition getting in, then the competition staying and debuting.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I bet it will be EXO vs. B.AP vs. Winner.

ohmygod. I can imagine the fanwars.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I feel as though I'm one of the only ones who's not turned off by the constant promotions B.A.P does. It keeps me more interested in anything. Though I do agree that they seriously need a break to build the hype for other people. EXO comes from a big company and has a huge ass fanbase so it's no wonder they're already there. B.A.P comes from a smaller company so they need to kind of really work their asses off if they want to make it big. ummmm why are people bringing up Infinite, Beast and Sistar lol

    ReplyDelete
  53. I'm anticipating the showdown between YG's new boy group and EXO to be honest. I mean, BAP is great but YG's new boy group is like a copy of Big Bang and EXO's more like going towards the DB5K route. Ahh I wonder if history would repeat itself in this two groups.

    ReplyDelete
  54. The boys went through many hardships. I just wish people can see how much they suffer to be in their place right now.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Because Infinite B2st and Sistar are more relevant in Korea.

    ReplyDelete
  56. and they are attacking eachother so often ><

    ReplyDelete
  57. 10. [+55, -25] I also think EXO has come this far thanks to their
company ㅋㅋㅋ with a combination of their fans and talents ㅋㅋㅋ but that
makes INFINITE, SISTAR, and B2ST seem more amazing with their
accomplishments since their companies are so small but they managed to
    climb this far up.

and i'm crying over this. small company doesn't mean you can't famous. Ha!

    ReplyDelete
  58. but there'ss a group that failed under SMent, F(x) hahahahhahahha

    ReplyDelete
  59. Tbh, SMENT has a very smart marketing tactic. They should never underestimate SMENT's power.

    ReplyDelete
  60. but other groups suffer more with no money no food no place to stay. They have to work ten times harder to even get recognized.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Busker Busker! How could they forget Busker Busker?

    ReplyDelete
  62. i hope YG doesnt make a second bigbang :/ tht would be a disaster...

    ReplyDelete
  63. probably because Busker Busker isn't considered as a boy group/idol group

    ReplyDelete
  64. f(x) far more relevant than your oppa & unnie tbh

    ReplyDelete
  65. Exactly! Suho alone trained for like 7 years.
For the Exo boys to get where they are today has not been the easy journey everyone is making it out to be.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I'm definitely impressed by INFINITE.

    ReplyDelete
  67. yeah I got that after rereading the article like thrice but I feel as though people are talking more about them than the smaller groups but meh

    ReplyDelete
  68. I guess what they're trying to imply is that smaller companies have less resources/funds and so they can't promote their idols on music/variety shows like other bigger companies can.

    ReplyDelete
  69. BAP is really popular in Korea. As far as I know, EXO and BAP were the most popular rookie group in Korea. So people can't really help but to compare them, since the two of them both have massive of fans.

    ReplyDelete
  70. How are they going through the DB5K route?

    ReplyDelete
  71. I Speak The Truth!August 21, 2013 at 4:50 AM

    OT but ᄏᄏᄏ (¬‿¬)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hm0qrsBADBc&feature=player_embedded

    ReplyDelete
  72. Comparing with BEAST, Infinite is so irrelevant. I'd put Exo, BAP
and BTOB together. Too bad BTOB has been spending more time seriously
developing their musical talent so they're not in the spotlight as much.

    ReplyDelete
  73. True, I'm forever in awe of SM's marketing skills. They get the idol thing down to a science.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Netizen Buzz could be a fan girl of EXO with the amount of EXO's article publish here

    ReplyDelete
  75. Joke fail.... -__-

    ReplyDelete
  76. its soon gonna be YG new boy group vs EXO

    ReplyDelete
  77. I agree and YG said he didn't have the courage to create a boy group like big bang. And yet the possible members of Winner already look like they take clothes from Big Bang's dresser.

    ReplyDelete
  78. honestly all groups have the recycled concept's and these two in particular.
Suju and Exo have the same concept. Only real difference suju has more talent exo has better visuals.
Bigbang and BAP have the same concept. Really is no difference here other than BB's image evolving.
This was already a trend, talk about journalists having nothing better to write, barely any scandals this year to fuel them.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Isn't BAP flopping, though? Meanwhile, EXO's physical and digital sales are improving since comeback. They're on different levels now. As you can see most of the comments compare EXO to the likes of B2ST and Infinite.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I had so many expectations for BAP. Had their songs in repeat too, and their One Shot album was the first album I bought without being a fan.

But their popularity seems to die down now. Too many comeback. People lose the anticipation feels. And their company ridiculous statement lately isn't helping either.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I feel like EXO always had that many hardcore fans. Didnt their comeback album has 300k+ in preorders? what exo doing now is they are having much more public recognition

    ReplyDelete
  82. btob is a really well rounded and talented group, even more so than bap and exo, it's just their character and group image is kind of lacking, and cube isn't going all out w/ their promotions like ts and sm are.

    ReplyDelete
  83. they are the formulator of the formula anyway.. the pioneer of the idol ship. they produced the very first idol group.

    ReplyDelete
  84. exo vs bap ? crayon pop the winner B)

    ReplyDelete
  85. You tried...

    ReplyDelete
  86. same here. and the songs keep getting worse.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Their instantly large fandom and wild sasaengs reminds me of the glory days of DB5K. They still have a long way to go but I really feel that SM is prepping them up to be the next Dong Bang Shin Ki. The reason why SM's promoting them so hard.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I'm actually a big fan of BAP and hurricane was ... :/

    ReplyDelete
  89. beast could be popular if cube was big companie. since cube small companie they didnt good with comeback. to be honest their comeback is fail

    ReplyDelete
  90. Exactly. They've applied everything they've learned from handling 8 boybands into their current new baby boyband.

    ReplyDelete
  91. but man bap song make me boring lately LOL and exo ? even exo's song trash suck but what can i do ? i fall in love with this group complete packaging voice , dance , face , and power from SM

    ReplyDelete
  92. BAP isn't popular in Korea, don't be delusional just because you read from Akp or just because they have fans in Daum. EXO isn't popular either. But if you ask if who isn't 'that' "nugu" anymore, it's EXO.

    ReplyDelete
  93. nd yeah BAP need take a break xD

    ReplyDelete
  94. EXO here today because of EXO themselves, their fans, and SM playing a part on this.
No matter how hard SM pushes EXO, but if EXO themselves don't captivate people and draw their interest,,,, Idt EXO will be here today.
What I wanted to say is, its not because of SM only.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I'm the type of person who gets annoyed if someone appears too much (it's the same from American shows like So You Think You Can Dance). The more someone is praised to the high heavens about how great and talented they are, the more I begin to ignore them. The more they appear on my tv screen, radio, or facebook news feed, the more annoyed I get.

It's really weird.. but overexposure is the one thing that decides whether or not I like an artist/group.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Showed off their looks and talents...SM really knew what they were doing.

    ReplyDelete
  97. BAP really isn't that popular in Korea. They may have a solid Korean fanbase but outside of the fans, no one knows who they are.

    ReplyDelete
  98. More like DBSK with Super Junior's numbers and variety show sense, if they choose to cultivate Baekhyun and Chanyeol in the variety show scene.

    ReplyDelete
  99. but seriousli if exo from small company .. exo will became forever nugu xD , mama , wolf hey thats song so so so suck

    ReplyDelete
  100. the girl ... duet with Junsu "Timeless"
could't remember her name and being lazy to Google

    ReplyDelete
  101. now exo is popular than beast. they win with manipulation but since exo in sm they couldt countinue that.....cubes fail.... they even cant win agains new groups

    ReplyDelete
  102. Eh, let's be realistic. They would be Vixx-tier if they were under any other company.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Cube is not that small

    ReplyDelete
  104. you so completely and utterly missed the point

    ReplyDelete
  105. Isak N Jiyeon, too! Such a shame 'cause Isak was actually a pretty damn good singer.

    ReplyDelete
  106. If it wasn't for SM, nobody would even care or notice them

    ReplyDelete
  107. Idol-dom aint easy jobs. Im sure a lot of idols suffer. I just stated what I said because people sound like EXO got their fame handed to them. Many idols wished to be in SM and tried out for SM. They didnt get in. The competition was fierce. For withstanding that kind of competition and to tough it out doesnt sound a walk in the park to me, yet many people ignored that part.

    ReplyDelete
  108. are you SM PR ???

    ReplyDelete
  109. ikr...I really like their previous song, "One Shot".

    But now....

    ReplyDelete
  110. well if they came from nugu company they will be the next "nugu" U-kiss

    ReplyDelete
  111. It's not only SM though..it's the same for JYP and YG.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Not all people thinking the way u do.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Only place in the world that CUBE CANNOT manipulate is JAPAN. Look at how disastrous 4minute and BEAST were in Japan. You CANT manipulate ORICON sales and youtube views are not that important to Japan.
Mindyou, 4minute and BEAST rode the HALLYU wave and FLOP worse than 2NE1

    ReplyDelete
  114. NOPE just feeding the troll ^^

    ReplyDelete
  115. Zhang Li Yin. Poor girl, she's been hiding in SM's dungeon with no sings of ever seeing the light of day again. So talented, yet so wasted. :-(

    ReplyDelete
  116. people seems to forget that sm was a small compagny one day, but they manage to climb until here. they are succesful and have money because they know how manage their compagny ans their artists. cube, starship and woolim have only 1 successful group so let's see if they are really talented or if it was luck and good timing.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Pretty much like it. Whoever wins on that show by YG, I had the same thoughts that they will must be on par with EXO.

Not because of the music, but, popularity wise, you can't just deny the fact that EXO is the 'trend' these days at S.Korea...

    ReplyDelete
  118. thanks to BoA

    ReplyDelete
  119. I am tired of this bullshit. I hope EXO will be fine. The same to B.A.P.

And I see infinite and b2st fangirls here. Small company doesn't mean you can't be popular. Big company doesn't mean you definitely will be popular. Nowadays It's really hard to get into SM. It's really hard to become an idol/to debut because of trainees rivalry. There were a few SM groups which weren't very popular.

So company can't make you 100% popular.

    ReplyDelete
  120. hehe yea thats my opinion babe

    ReplyDelete
  121. Versatility (and talent) wise, I think it's BAP > EXO. but it's saddening that we only focus on these boy groups. BtoB and 100% were some of the really most worthy of praise when they debut cos they have craaaaaazy talent!

    ReplyDelete
  122. "EXO wouldn't have come this far without SM power."

But then, you should think about how they could manage to get in SM in the first place.

    ReplyDelete
  123. I hope they don't go as far out in variety as much as Super Junior had or people would treat them like a joke too (like they do with SJ). And aren't they separated into 2 groups originally and each group contains 6 members?

    ReplyDelete
  124. sigh, her voice ...

    ReplyDelete
  125. It was back in 2009 when Beast started out

    ReplyDelete
  126. Other EXO members suffered that too. Especially the chinese members. Imagine leaving China just to train. They have to leave everything. Family, friends, loved ones, just to fulfill their dreams. The Chinese members were bullied. k-trainees treat them like shits since Chinese trainees were considered as the low type of trainees. And, the competition between SM trainees is not easy, if you will ask. They have to train 8-12 hours a day. No rest. They only have 2 hours of sleep. At the age of 14, 15, 16, 17 or even 18, they were alone. They have injuries but still, they were alone. EXO strives hard to receive so much recognition from public. One of the members almost cried once in a radio show because he misses his family so much. Imagine how hard it is for them to meet up people's expectation to be the perfect group since they came from a very famous company. Imagine how hard it is for them to smile all day because they were "SM's boy group." All the idols now have suffered. Maybe some of the idols have suffered more, what EXO suffered is more than enough to prove that they were a talented boy group. They deserve more love and respect^^

    ReplyDelete
  127. So sick of these people acting like being successful coming from a small company is like some miracle.

    ReplyDelete
  128. SM was once a small company too. They made a splash in the idol industry by taking risks. SM didn't get to where it was just by LSM waking up one morning.

    ReplyDelete
  129. SM 'talent scouts' has admitted several times that they sometimes scout ppl solely based on their looks

    ReplyDelete
  130. you should think of how they could manage to get in SM in the first place.

    ReplyDelete
  131. "8. [+43, -4] As an EXO fan, I'll be the first to admit that their popularity is largely attributed to their company power"

    Isn't it obvious?

    ReplyDelete
  132. they applied that even to their anniversary?? i don't even know -__-.

    ReplyDelete
  133. as exo fans i think exo not deserve this popularity LOL

    ReplyDelete
  134. H.O.T and Shinhwa before her

    ReplyDelete
  135. that's actually exactly what happened to me. last year when bap debuted I was super obsessed until about stop it but after so many comebacks it was too much tbh. I actually did not like exo at all like I stopped caringafter the third teaser but now exo has become one of my favorite groups. I still listen to bap songs but I wouldn't even call myself a fan anymore. the excitement just isn't there

    ReplyDelete
  136. F(x) from sm also won 3 awards (excluding show!champion). 2ne1 won 1-2 awards for each single songs. 2pm from jyp only won 1 award. Shinee won many times because during that time they only has 2am as their strong competi. Kim hyunjoong doesnt won anything yet. Btw, yes. Exo is really popular now in korea. Their popularity is same like t-ara. Just open all comment from netizen on this website, must has exo name there. LOL. Negative comment everywhere about exo. They're really 'popular' now. :P:P

    ReplyDelete
  137. Right? If the song is great and people love it and go buy it....who cares where it came from. lol

    ReplyDelete
  138. Oh yeah, whatever happened to her?

    ReplyDelete
  139. Sorry, but both EXO and B.A.P are still nugu in Korea. Yes they have big fanbase but that didnt do anything. EXO are starting to get out of that 'Nugu' title while B.A.P idk, dont be too delu and think both of them are NOT NUGU, the trend is more likely from young or teens girls. Elders, adults mostly not even know them yet!

    ReplyDelete
  140. 5. [+107, -10] I wouldn't call them a trend quite yet considering there are still a lot of people who don't know these groups

They should know EXO soon enough if they don't already, Growl has been in or near the top 5 of Melon ever since it came out. That is crazy for ANY male idol group (except Big Bang), and its even more crazy because EXO is only in their 2nd year now.

    7. [+56, -7] It'd be more difficult to find a group that failed under the SM title ㅋㅋㅋ

SM The Ballad, sadly. Its too bad Junsu couldn't have been in that like had been planned. Probably wouldn't have failed since DBSK was at the height of their popularity.

    ReplyDelete
  141. looks looks looks and looks.
everyone is talking about how handsome exo's members are.
    they came with talents too.
go to youtube and type in "baekhyun & chen immortal song 2" and you can judge them after you see their performance.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Yes. EXO were not popular as B.A.P before their comeback but now... SM made them into 1 year hiatus and BAM. I know how crazy the fandom is knowing that EXO will come back finally and holy mackerel. The pre-order of their album is soooo massive, trust me.

    ReplyDelete
  143. but really BoA bring the money in ... thanks to her Japan promotion

    ReplyDelete
  144. Go to Google and search what "scouting" means first.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Well, talent counts too. So they still deserves it.

    ReplyDelete

Except everyone knows that Sistar's company manipulated charts for them and B2ST's company at the very least manipulated Youtube views.

    ReplyDelete
  147. They should've rest after Power or No mercy.

    ReplyDelete
  148. I am EXO's fan, but I will tell you. B2ST is still popular than EXO. Trust me.

Is there anyone here who likes C-Clown & 100%? I think their latest song was great! ._.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Well, if they came from another company, I am pretty sure MAMA and Wolf were definitely not their songs.

    ReplyDelete
  151. She was the host of Pops in Seoul for a quite awhile, until 2 years ago, I think. Basically she just waited for her SM contract to end, which finally happened last year, I think.

    ReplyDelete
  152. as for General public recognition ... it's Crayon Pop. for now.

    ReplyDelete
  153. but shit songs from sm can still get famous too!

    ReplyDelete
  154. Tbh I started loving B.A.P, they brought something "fresh" and I remember singing warrior all the time....then EXO came and my love for B.A.P went down because of so many comebacks & my attention went to EXO completely. I agree being in SM has helped EXO to be successful right now but seriously comments like "If they were from a smaller company they wouldn't be successful" bothers me. Yeah it might be truth but they're with SM so comparing & considering the alternative possibilities is stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  155. mhh i would say after One Shot. Otherwise it would have been too early :) in general, i think its better to have only a few songs, but really good ones. not a bunch of mediocre songs :(

    ReplyDelete
  156. C-Clown fan here! *raises hand* I bought their 'Young Love' mini-album a few months ago and loved every song. I'm still a newbie to 100%, but i've liked I heard so far during their TV performances.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Yeah SM had only 4 people in total working together with H.O.T back to 1995. As a hardcore SM stan, it made me so emotional anytime remembering its root.

    ReplyDelete
  158. but most exo members are ugly.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Yup. And after Growl promotions end, they're gonna be separated again into M and K.

Well, at least I hope SM doesn't give any EXO members permanent gigs in variety shows yet. Yeah, they kinda went overboard with Super Junior, but the group needed the variety shows to survive back then. But it's nice to see that some EXO members are certainly capable of shining in the variety scene should they choose to do so.

    ReplyDelete
  160. "But if Exo isn't from SM they'd be nugus forever" - Something people can only come up with when they can't deny Exo's popularity anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Lets just admit Exo aren't where they are now based on skill & talent alone -_-

    ReplyDelete
  162. Scout doesn;t mean that you can get in. You have to go to audition.

    ReplyDelete
  163. successful people are meant to be successful, whatever what they do and where they are. that's what a think.

True I love B.A.P but l got srsl tired of them being around so much lt's not exiting anymore to wait for them cuz l know they will be back next month

    ReplyDelete
  165. yes. heck, check some of their live performances on immortal song or radio shows. they come up with talents as well.

    ReplyDelete
  166. Well, what I am trying to say is that BAP and EXO were popular among the hallyu fans there. And they were popular as the two rookie group. I know EXO & BAP were nugu from the public because I always read articles of them.

    ReplyDelete
  167. No one mentions VIXX? They're rising more than BAP, to be honest.

    ReplyDelete
  168. I really like BANGTAN BOYS and I hope they get more popular.

    ReplyDelete
  169. watch out kpopers ... YG is doing his marketing strategy by using EXO as his references for WIN.

    EXCITING!

    ReplyDelete
  170. I thought that in 2007, (2006-2008 era to be exact) it was TVXQ/SS501/Super Junior.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Thr are so many more idols wif talent but the reason they ain't geting noticed is bcoz they come from a much smaller company

    ReplyDelete
  172. popularity has to so with both fandom, sales, and recognition and right now exo is leading in all of those

    ReplyDelete
  173. Their popularity is same like 'popular' t-ara. Just open all comment from netizen on this website, must has exo name there. LOL. Negative comment everywhere about exo. They're really popular now. :P:P (p/s:this comment to exotic who thinks their idols is really popular than suju, shinee, infinite and beast). Trust me, netizen in korean only love to compare exo with bap and btob. Suju, shinee, beast and infinite still is the most popular korean groups.

    ReplyDelete
  174. you still have to do auditions after get scout. SM thinks of all aspects. They choose people with both visuals and talents.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Yeah. Not to mention that SM had no money by the time the 1st gen groups have left. BoA's success in Japan saved SM from bankruptcy, TBH.

    ReplyDelete
  176. Isn't vixx smtg u apply to ur nose when u have a blocked nose?? lol

    ReplyDelete
  177. I swear, haters are so ridiculously funny when they're trying to find an excuses.

    ReplyDelete
  178. 3. [+201, -55] EXO wouldn't have come this far without their company power ㅋ INFINITE's truly amazing if you think about all they've achieved considering their circumstances

    6. [+104, -43] Seeing EXO makes B2ST and INFINITE seem more impressive (smaller companies)

All these sad losers K-nets who just want to make excuses against EXO. If it is really company power, explain why GROWL is sitting pretty on top 5 of MELON, the most impt digital chart in Korea.
If it is really "company power", why said "company power" cant make DBSK,SuJu, SHINEE(to a lesser extent) stay on digital charts? Those 3 groups earn way more than EXO, why a "general public hating" SM boyband can stay on digital chart?
Isnt everyone loves to say the higher your song on DIGITAL chart, the more "LOVED" your group is by the "general public"?

    ReplyDelete
  179. yessss ....totally same with me...

    ReplyDelete
  180. more like TVXQ vs BB ...

    ReplyDelete
  181. sry to burst ur bubble but no...they don't

    ReplyDelete
  182. there's no way you could blame big companies for that case. SM in the past was not SM's today. They were not as successful as they are now. Other idols ain't getting noticed not because of big companies, but because of their own companies that are lacking in so many areas.
