"It was really hard for me to get cast. I heard a lot of people say that they didn't want me. I looked for small roles but they all said no because I was BoA. People seem to think that I'm going to acting through an easy path because I'm a singer but I was actually rejected more often than not just because of my name. I got cast into my recent drama through an audition. I'm joining the drama as a rookie actor but people only see me as the singer BoA."
1. [+233, -60] I never knew BoA had worries such as this but I can understand now after seeing her on today's broadcast. If she was a lesser known idol, she could've started her acting career with less bias like the other idols but she has such huge recognition domestically and internationally which will obviously impact her acting career negatively since her singing image is so strong... And knowing this, BoA tried to start with small roles but was rejected anyway because she's a top star. We all assume that she could get any drama or movie role she wants because she's BoA but who knew that she had to audition for even the smallest of roles... I hope her efforts come to fruition soon.. Fighting!
2. [+189, -48] What BoA said broke my heart. People stereotyped her the minute she said she was going into acting and hated on her when she herself is looking to start out with small roles... Unfortunately, producers reject her first because she has such a high name value and they can't give a small role to a top star like her. Sad irony that her popularity is actually crushing her from pursuing what she wants. And hearing that she auditioned for her recent role makes me think that she is really ready for this no matter where her talents lie.
3. [+164, -45] It's sad that producers are rejecting her just because she's a top star... Going around auditions for small roles... It's unfair to hate on her when she has her own worries and concerns.
