sports chosun, water you doing ???

Article: The girl group keyword of the first half of 2013? SISTAR becomes a "nation's girl group" at #1 with SNSD

Source: Sports Chosun via Naver

I initially thought this was some survey or actual keyword article but it's just an article about the journalist himself naming SISTAR as the hottest girl group of the year and putting them as SNSD's rivals/on shoulder with them.

1. [+179, -4-] Let's be honest, SISTAR is not on the level of SNSD yet...

2. [+138, -15] SNSD and 2NE1 are popular overseas so they only promote once a year in Korea... seems like the groups who promote mainly in Korea are using that as an opportunity for media play like this.

3. [+124, -12] Keep media playing like this and it's going to back fire.

4. [+127, -16] SISTAR's name value hasn't risen yet. Yeah, they're the trend right now but they don't have a huge hit like SNSD, WG, or KARA that has raised their value.

5. [+119, -13] They're only popular for now... I wouldn't say national level yet. My father doesn't even know who SISTAR is.

6. [+111, -10] SISTAR has to work harder for the nation's title... 2NE1 and SNSD are a wall nobody can climb over right now.

7. [+124, -30] SISTAR's still on the same level as 4minute... definitely not SNSD's level.

8. [+88, -7] Do they have no shame... at least media play about being the nation's group after winning a daesang.

Article: SNSD-SISTAR rivalry, what about a girl group like this?

Source: Sports Chosun via Naver

Another troll article from Sports Chosun where they picked random actresses to create a pseudo girl group to rival SNSD/SISTAR's popularity... or another excuse to talk about how SISTAR is on SNSD's level now and should be considered rivals.
LIKE LITERALLY, the journalist doesn't even try to hide his crappy media play. This is the exact intro to this article:
"SISTAR has been earning explosive popularity ever since they made their comeback with 'Give it to me'. The song, which was released on the 11th, is still at the top of various digital music charts. SISTAR is currently being chosen as one of the nation's best girl groups along with SNSD. There seems to be no other girl group to rival SNSD and SISTAR. If so, what about a girl group like this? We chose a few actresses who are talented in singing, dancing, and even acting to create a girl group that might rival SNSD and SISTAR."

???????????????

Anyway, they chose:

Kim Seul Gi (main vocal)
Lee Yoo Bi (main vocal)
Park Shin Hye (sub vocal)
Go Ara (sub vocal)
Nam Bora (sub vocal)
Jin Se Yeon (rapper)

1. [+123, -17] Jeez, how many rivals does SNSD even have? WG, 2NE1, KARA, T-ara, SISTAR, who's next?

2. [+111, -22] Why are there so many desperate girl groups trying to media play by riding on SNSD's coattails? ㅋㅋㅋ Their rival changes every year

3. [+115, -43] SISTAR's the best girl group but not better than SNSD

4. [+91, -28] To get on SNSD's level, you have to have public recognition from teens to 50s at least.

5. [+60, -2] Can journalists please go out and report on real news instead of writing up fantasies like this.

6. [+69, -17] I admit that SISTAR is really blowing up but they keep comparing themselves to SNSD, KARA, and 2NE1... SISTAR's strong digitally but they're still way behind SNSD, KARA, and 2NE1 in terms of fandom size, physical album sales, and international popularity.

  5. I'm happy/surprised 2ne1 is still relevant though. they're not around for a while now.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I like Sistar but they're not on snsd and 2ne1's level of popularity yet.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Kara r better than both in Japan

    ReplyDelete
  8. I like how SNSD is bashed on the basis of being idols, inferior to actresses, etc, yet they try to put together a pseudo rival group made of actresses. That alone should tell you where SNSD stands. As much as Korea pretends to hate them, they still measure everyone against them.

    ReplyDelete
  9. WATER YOU DOING INDEED. I laughed so hard at the article and find myself agreeing w netizens comments.... ESP this "SNSD rivals changes every year" so true so true. Anyway the pseudo girl group gave me such LULZ

    ReplyDelete
  10. [+111, -10] SISTAR has to work harder for the nation's title... 2NE1 and SNSD are a wall nobody can climb over right now.

SISTAR is ok but honestly no matter how you look at it, they have yet to be the same level as 2NE1 and SNSD.

    ReplyDelete
  11. 3. [+124, -12] Keep media playing like this and it's going to back fire.
    this.
honestly, too much mediaplay. SISTAR is not even at 2NE1's level

    ReplyDelete
  12. Agree, I as SNSD fans even think that KARA is better than SNSD in Japan

    ReplyDelete
  13. my expression throughout this article : .....*blinks* what.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Their company needs to be careful, theyre treading on dangerous waters by media playing like this lol.

But yea, Sistar still has a long way to go.

    ReplyDelete
  15. 3. [+124, -12] Keep media playing like this and it's going to back fire.
    hell yeah it will.

    ReplyDelete
  16. LOLOL. sistar still long way to go~~

on a random note, i love kim seulgi <3

    ReplyDelete
  17. it's too early to say that they're in the same level with SNSD..
as nation girl group they need to have strong fandom inside or outside SK.
SNSD now have their world tour.. so to be same level they have to do world tour too..

Seulgi is so cute and funny !

    ReplyDelete
  19. Oh please, sports chosun please have some WATER.

    ReplyDelete
  20. dont u just love her <3

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm a Star1 but this article is so laughable! LOL I'm not delusional Sistar still has a long way to go to be at SNSD and 2ne1's level. But why do I feel like the journalist is a troll hater? I mean would Starship pay a crappy article like that? he was even subtle at all! it's like he was really asking the people to hate on Sistar.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Imagine her rapping hahahahaha

    ReplyDelete
  23. They're big in Japan. In Korea, they're not yet at the same level, but still bigger than 4Minute and T-ara and all the other groups.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Sistar doesn't even have a decent size fanbase yet

    ReplyDelete
  25. for overall achievement they seems relevant..

    ReplyDelete

    What happen again?..
    K-netz ...

    ReplyDelete
  27. Hmm...they do have higher rep in Japan...they were the 2nd girl group on Forbes last year..overall it's pretty difficult to say since each has their strength in different areas.

    ReplyDelete
  28. amaya aguero monzonJuly 3, 2013 at 3:31 AM

Don't push it with the media play it can backfire at you i !! They are slowly rising up I think they are someday going to get to snsd-2ne1 level but not just yet !! Their last song wasn't even that good...

    ReplyDelete
  29. lol same. esp the top row. lee yubi + park shin hye + kim seul gi are awesome

    ReplyDelete
  30. haahahahhahahahaa the fact that this is even brought up is hilarious. i can't even being writing how much they would need in fans, sales etc. to be up to be up there with snsd and 2ne1. definitely not anytime soon but you never know

    ReplyDelete
  31. KARA have international activities..they represent SK, but the no 1 nation girl girl goes to SNSD..

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'm confused. Is the company paying the journalist to write this or is the fellow doing this of his own accord?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Why is SISTAR mediaplaying so much? Ugh they are not on par with SNSD and 2ne1 in any categories possible. Why you keep pushing it? Just be happy for their status as of now cause the real digital queens are coming back this week.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Is the journalist is sistar anti? Dont he/she know this kind of article can give more hate to sistar. Because sistar still not on SNSD level.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Which one? The former or the latter?

    ReplyDelete

    =======================
    this =))

    ReplyDelete
  37. they do praised SISTAR but does mean they approve sistar level..

    ReplyDelete
  38. LMAO are they doing this because of Dispatch?

Anyway, I really like Lee Yoo Bi (Gu Family Book, Nice Guy) and Nam Bora (Shark, Moon that Embraces the Sun). They're really cute and talented actresses, I see lead roles in their future

    ReplyDelete
  39. YG is pushing them to do varieties now to increase their relevance. They can be on no. 1 with SNSD if they do as much exposure as SNSD but not yet.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I don't think Korea hates SNSD..just netizens who loves hating..they are (maybe) loved by a wide range of age, male and female..its like akb48, kinda like that, I guess..

    ReplyDelete
  41. "4. [+91, -28] To get on SNSD's level, you have to have public recognition from teens to 50s at least."
    wow

    ReplyDelete
  42. It would be pretty cool if they do some sort of special stage and perform girlgroup songs.

    ReplyDelete
  43. the company paying the journalist

    ReplyDelete
  44. 3[24, -12] Keep media playing like this and it's going to back fire.

^ This, know when to stop before you do permanent damage.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Sistar are not on their level yes! But how is this media play , they even said that they don't have rivals and snsd are their sunbaenim and they're not rivals

    ReplyDelete
  46. I don't even understand all the hype with sistar. Hyori is great I admit it but anyone here don't like her voice or is it just me? Soyu is good too but c'on every group out there has a member that can sing as good as her, if not better. And while Bora is the visual and properly has the most fans, Dasom is just...out of place. And their music is all the same.

    ReplyDelete
  47. if those pseudo group debuted, I'm sure they'll be hated by netizens everyday too..

    ReplyDelete
  48. The company still considers them rivals and that's where they need to be careful about the media play. Because it affects the group first.

    ReplyDelete
  49. just because they won on all music shows that doesnt make them the SNSD's rival or nation's group(whatever u call it).

    ReplyDelete
  50. SNSD>>>>>>>>>>> a wall you can't climb over>>>>>>>>>2ne1>>>>>>> (insert other girl group name)

    ReplyDelete
  51. "4. [+91, -28] To get on SNSD's level, you have to have public recognition from teens to 50s at least."

I dont hate SNSD but when SNSD debut, there was a very little idol groups, and girlgroups also. So at this time, even you were not a Sone, you still know who SNSD is.

But nowadays, there are too much idol groups, so a group like Sistar who comes from nugu company is popular, is very amazing. And it's hard for them to be called " a national group" since there are a huge of idol groups

    ReplyDelete
  52. you'd think they'd give more props to sistar for being at the level they're at without having a huge fanbase. what other group can accomplish what they've done without fans bulkbuying and shit?....surely not snsd

    ReplyDelete
  53. o m g that "article's"intro... roflmaoooooooooo

    ReplyDelete
  54. Oh. Shut up. I don't like SNSD that much but definitely that Sistar's not SNSD's level. I just know Hyori and Bora in Sistar.

    ReplyDelete
  55. its just that they have good songs that the public will love, and they also have Hyorin and Soyu to cover the others uselessness

    ReplyDelete
  56. we're talking about nation's gg (korea) which kara is behind both

    ReplyDelete
  57. not sistar but their company .

    ReplyDelete
  58. What are you asking?

    ReplyDelete
  59. You know, I've never been able to catch up and stay up with AKB48, lol. They're so big, I've tried so many times, but I always seem to forget their names. :(

    ReplyDelete
  60. OfficialKARALoverJuly 3, 2013 at 3:42 AM

yes.. If you check their records .. from CF/Magazine/Endorsement/Concerts/Income and Talent fee... same as SNSD

    ReplyDelete
  61. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA,NO~

    ReplyDelete
  62. Just about. Kara's hovering somewhere below 2ne1 and above 4 minute and F(x)

    ReplyDelete
  63. it's true, even snsd has difficulty catching up to kara in japan, but in korea snsd is untouchable

    ReplyDelete
  64. They had some really good songs back when they first debuted, too. I think they definitely have the potential to be #1. But I feel as though that whole CL solo kick might have done some damage.

    ReplyDelete
  65. just remember the senbatsu, that's what i do, evr\everyone else I just ignore until they get to senbastu-level. or watch their drama Majisuka Gakuen alot of them use their real names as their character names then it's easier to pin names with faces

    ReplyDelete
  66. not really. They just need another hit song to erase CL's ratchet song. If they continue to release songs, they will be more relevant again... Let's wait.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Their music always seemed to have more of a Japanese feel to it, in my opinion. Some of heir beats would remind me of J-Pop. I'm not surprised that they're doing well there, good for them.

    ReplyDelete
  68. OfficialKARALoverJuly 3, 2013 at 3:46 AM

he just said Better ..not at the same recognition as snsd ..but it has the same value

    ReplyDelete
  69. kpopwillneverstopJuly 3, 2013 at 3:46 AM

Doubt it. Those are actresses. Actresses are never hated (unless they can't act).

    ReplyDelete
  70. whatever it is , still no girl group that can beat 2ne1 . They are the best . People said snsd and sistar rival because they have quite same genre . but tbh , sistar is bette . And 2 ne1 is the best ! Kkk . Dont bash me , its just my opinion . Based on song and talent and not popularity .

    ReplyDelete
  71. I laughed when I realized the title lol but I still can read the title as "what are you" at the first place lmao

    ReplyDelete
  72. they are doing that cause YG is scared

so maby times i've heard the "they are artist, they don't need variaty shows" even the members don't like them.

and they are so fucking boring in programs, idke....

YG is scared, i love you didn't have a good respond like their previous songs, they disapear from the earth for how long? and then CL solo debut was a failure...

    ReplyDelete
  73. "and talent".............................. lol

    ReplyDelete
  74. popularity wise they are not on snsd level yet but in terms of musicality 2ne1>sistar>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>snsd

    ReplyDelete
  75. Everybody knows that nobody is SNSD's level as in girl group in Korea (and even internationally for Korean girl groups, I'd say).
SISTAR is doing well for their songs but they are not well-loved like SNSD. SNSD is a wall current girl groups cannot climb over yet.

    ReplyDelete
  76. OfficialKARALoverJuly 3, 2013 at 3:49 AM

    nothing bad why?..

in other comment they calling sistar at snsd level now because of that article they realize something ...

    ReplyDelete
  77. SISTAR >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 2ne1

    ReplyDelete
  78. Lol! I certainly hope this one does the trick. You're totally about that.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I don't understand that, either? I really liked I Love You, lol. Maybe it was just me.

    ReplyDelete
  80. This article is a major reach, but...

It doesn't hide that SNSD is getting older, how much longer can they sell the perky, bubbly girls image, without them getting the DARA backlash.

SNSD has fallen recently, because of bad songs, and poor showing in other areas i.e. acting, which has removed that invisibility aura from them.

SNSD have gotten too dull, too into their image of trying to be perfect role models.

However, SISTAR is not on their level yet. SISTAR, due to YG's mishandling, might be very close to 2NE1, who will fall majorly if their upcoming release doesn't do well.

    ReplyDelete
  81. 1. [+123, -17] Jeez, how many rivals does SNSD even have? WG, 2NE1, KARA, T-ara, SISTAR, who's next?
    Miss A

    ReplyDelete
  82. Even nobodies who find kpop alien where I'm from know about Gee/have heard of 'Girls Generation'.

    ReplyDelete
  83. um...no...not even close...*shakes head*

    ReplyDelete
  84. I already said this before but really, for SISTAR to be at the same level as SNSD, they have to be able to conquer all kind of fields in entertainment world like SNSD have. Acting, singing, modelling, musical, MCing, radio DJ-ing, etc.Be a multi-entertainer girl group. I don't say it's impossible for SISTAR but for now, they are still not at the same level as SNSD.

    ReplyDelete
  85. 4. [+91, -28] To get on SNSD's level, you have to have public recognition from teens to 50s at least.

    5. [+60, -2] Can journalists please go out and report on real news instead of writing up fantasies like this.

    6.
[+69, -17] I admit that SISTAR is really blowing up but they keep
comparing themselves to SNSD, KARA, and 2NE1... SISTAR's strong
digitally but they're still way behind SNSD, KARA, and 2NE1 in terms of
fandom size, physical album sales, and international popularity.

    totally agree

    ReplyDelete
  86. this "media playing" is done by the agency. be careful Starship, your media play may occur harm to Sistar. just work harder than before, and still, SNSD & 2NE1 are the wall you can't climb up in instant.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I agree. I like the girls but SNSD is not helping themselves in the music department with their last two awful releases. If they can come back with a solid song though I think they'll still have a firm hold for a bit longer.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I think what also brought this on, partially, is SM pushing the whole ladylike image for SNSD on variety shows. It's all the crazy imitations and jokes and, an oxymoron, but the image-ruining was part of SNSD's image.

    ReplyDelete
  89. well ..japan is the 2nd biggest music industry in the world ....so no one really care
    about korea taste

    ReplyDelete
  90. I hope Star 1 will realize how popular SISTAR is in KOREA .

They obviously aren't in SNSD Level .
SNSD is a wall you can't climb over .

    ReplyDelete
  91. problem is company...do you remember girl's day make media play without no reason and filled top 10 article with ridiculous news...netizen hated them that's why...this is same for sistar...
-sistar take no.1 for 6 days
    -hyorin's wonderful tanned legs
    -dasom's acting blow everyday's mind

    ReplyDelete
  92. I'll def. have to do that. Lately I've been distracted with Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, lol I love her!
    But thanks!
    :)

    ReplyDelete
  93. One day sistar.... one day.

    ReplyDelete
  94. LMAO that moment when even non SNSD ,2ne1 fans are like WTF .

    ReplyDelete
  95. fuck yeah snsd forever!

    ReplyDelete
  96. For me:
    1-SNSD
    2-2ne1
    3-Sistar and 4minute
    4-Apink and FX
    5-kara

    ReplyDelete
  97. I dont understand why people here are whining about media play as if SM isn't doing the same thing!?

    ReplyDelete
  98. isn't KARA more relevant than SISTAR too?

    ReplyDelete
  99. LOL in what way? Since everyone knows SNSD are way more popular than Sistar and sell more etc

    ReplyDelete
  100. Oh if only SM media played enough....

    ReplyDelete
  101. not bashing but I thought apink is still nugu...?

    ReplyDelete
  102. Miss A ? I remember when they debuted , People said that They were going to take soshi place when they hit no1 with BGGG .

    ReplyDelete
  103. SM doesn't even need to try....

    ReplyDelete
  104. i haven't seen any snsd news in a while already.

    and i'm a sone...

    Nam Bora (sub vocal)
    Jin Se Yeon (rapper)

    ReplyDelete
  106. I don't think they will be, because they don't really appeal to girls as much, and that's how you build a fanbase.... teenage girls.

    ReplyDelete
  107. in my case, don't forget to add Super Junior on the list. my friends who dont like kpop are making equalization with SJ + SNSD = KPOP.

    ReplyDelete
  108. 6. [+69, -17] I admit that SISTAR is really blowing up but they keep comparing themselves to SNSD, KARA, and 2NE1... SISTAR's strong digitally but they're still way behind SNSD, KARA, and 2NE1 in terms of fandom size, physical album sales, and international popularity.

    if not, APINK???? nugu?

    ReplyDelete
  112. When I can ask an elderly person to dance or sing a Sistar song then we can talk.

    ReplyDelete
  113. If you check Nate/Naver, it's only like realtime news. As in the articles are only based on stuff that SNSD is releasing like OST and even some Instagram update. Pretty slow news days.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Actually The Boys was a big hit in SK and my brother said that IGAB played everywhere in Seoul when he was visiting.

    ReplyDelete
  115. am i only one think that sistar is level of f(x)...

    ReplyDelete
  116. 'it's just an article about the journalist himself naming SISTAR as the hottest girl group of the year '

So he was either payed by company or he jerks off when he sees sistar

    ReplyDelete
  117. Sistar is more of Secert and 4Minute rival imo

    ReplyDelete
  118. I'm not sure if I want to see an elderly dancing to a Sistar song >_> but singing is fine.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Isn't SM the company that gets criticized by fans for not doing enough media play for their artists?

    ReplyDelete
  120. i doubt they want to do butt shake dance like SISTAR do.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Agree . And The only member who are popular in SK are Hyorin . They don't really popular as individual Like GG .

    ReplyDelete
  122. You need to edit. You forgot your n.

    ReplyDelete
  123. i doubt they actually know Sistar songs.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Taeyeon is more popular than all of the SISTAR members together and the journalist is trying to media play the claim that they're as strong as SNSD?

    You're only ridiculing them lol

    ReplyDelete
  125. i don't see it like that...what makes the difference is the music...if a group puts out constant good music they can stand out.

    ReplyDelete
  126. add Big Bang in as well

    ReplyDelete
  127. forbes, gallup, lespair

    ReplyDelete
  128. *70 year old halmoni*

I DON'T USUALLY DO THIS BUT..GIVE IT TO ME OH BABY GIVE IT TO ME-AH,AH,AH,AH OOH WHOAAA OOH

    You were saying?

    ReplyDelete
  129. exactly. even if they're well liked now because they're actresses, doesn't mean they would have the same esteem in the public's eye if they hypothetically debuted as a girl group instead. netizens love bashing on idols regardless of talent or personality or reputation.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Top tier

    1. SNSD/2NE1
    2 Sistar/Kara

  131. It's not like the k-netizens are lying though.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Oh my goodness.....the awkwardness that will ensue...

....sing Alone only ! Oh dear....(/_\)

    ReplyDelete
  133. I don't think it matters since they're still a relatively new group, it's just that their image doesn't appeal to females as much as males. This is why SNSD and 2NE1 are so popular, that have tons of female fans.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Honestly hope the SISTAR and the Soshi girls don't read any of this crappy nonsense lol... cos they are friends IRL.

    ReplyDelete
  135. sorry but 4minute is doing better than kara in sales

    ReplyDelete
  136. plus hyo and bora were on IY2...=.=

    ReplyDelete
  137. the fancafe of Apink still has more members than sistar

    ReplyDelete
  138. I don't think the quatity of groups made it easier for SNSD when they debuted. I remember one netizen said that SNSD had a hard time to put out their names when WG dominated
Gee is obviously the turning point, a national hit is the biggest factor here

    ReplyDelete
  139. And Bora been playing with soshi members after joint concerts.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Exactly, only losing to PSY last year but held the #1 position for 2-3 years running is already a feat.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Yeap, if it's Kara, I'll acknowledge. But if it's sistar..no..just not yet..

    ReplyDelete
  142. ikr! uber cute moments!

    ReplyDelete
  143. lee yoobi voice is really good,,somehow i think that her singing skill is better than a half of idol nowadays..

    ReplyDelete
  144. SNSD has the golden ratio with almost 50/50 between female fans and male fans, because for idols girl groups are mostly loved by fanboys and boy groups with their fangirls

    ReplyDelete
  145. To get to SNSD, Sistar would have to go through 2NE1 and I don't see that happening unless they build a strong fan base. SNSD & 2NE1 are the only girl groups that don't have to constantly promote to stay relevant. Due to their large fanbase which female groups usually do not have.

    ReplyDelete
  146. You made me imagine a halmoni dancing to Push Push get in a Sistar dance battle with your halmoni dancing to Give it to Me now xD

    ReplyDelete
  147. .....bones will be broken LOL

    ReplyDelete
  148. Maybe to overshadow celebrity army scandal?

    ReplyDelete
  149. yep my best friend who is Alien to kpop has heard of BIGANG ...well actually Taeyang and she also keeps relating anything to kpop as those "20 girls who look all similar" once I got to narrow down what she was talking about I realized it was SNSD.

    ReplyDelete
  150. i think being no1 is not that important...i mean artist make money album sales, advertising, overseas activity...
    sistar album sales--->noo
    advertising--->recently yesss
    oversea activity-->noo
for example;kara makes a lot of money from japan sales(a loooott)
i don't even think sistar make money more than 4minute(hyuna's advertising makes a lot of money, album sales not that bad,and they are going many other countries to make money)
sistar-->sitting korea and releasing album, staying chart but no album sales

    ReplyDelete
  151. It will be bloody..*nods*

    ReplyDelete
  152. SISTAR is really good, but they have to long way to go to achieve or to be in SNSD's place. Their songs, for me, sounds the same. Their songs are the main reason why they became really popular.

Unlike SNSD that has a big fanbase, SISTAR is relying on digitals, and that is unstable. What if they change their musical style, like what SNSD has been doing? Release a hip hop styled song or a song that is not 'Hyorin ft. SISTAR'? Will the public still love them if they release songs like that?

    That's the question.

    ReplyDelete
  153. I'd rather fans bulkbuy than agencies manipulating charts. although i can see SISTAR's digital scores seem pretty legit. they are digital queens after all.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Maybe that journalist actually dislikes Sistar and wants to create a fanwar . U have to be really stupid to say smth like this that kinda includes 2 most popular korean girl groups (SNSD and 2ne1)

    ReplyDelete
  155. it's because they tried to focus more on the Japan market, and Psy's sudden fame was so overwhelming, i think they will make more consecutive wins soon in the next few years

    ReplyDelete
  156. "even snsd has difficulty catching up to kara in japan"

    How about NO ?
Well SNSD never had difficulty catching up to Kara in Japan . They actually are close if not on Par with Kara .
They Outsold Kara now . They make more money at Japan than Kara .

    ReplyDelete
  157. look at what GI (global icon) got for media playing....only hate =.=

    ReplyDelete
  158. snsd only has fanbase thats all

    ReplyDelete
  159. having big fanbase also shows how popular u are.
    And they have huge fanbase,

    ReplyDelete
  160. that's y i said..IN JAPAN?

    ReplyDelete
  161. a group can fallback on their huge fandom if they are in a scandal...if they keep relying on the public, the public will dump them once they get embroiled in a scandal =.=

    ReplyDelete
  162. mmm..as far as i know...Kara is still No.1 kpop girls group in Japan

    ReplyDelete
  163. OK.. so snsd different from other girl group in which way ??!! can someone please tell me!! they are overrated the only song i like are genie, into the world and run devil run.. that's it. seriously they should stop puting groups down and give them a chance.

    ReplyDelete
  164. omg their album sell ove 7000. so they're never never ever "national group"

    ReplyDelete
  165. 2NE1 and SNSD level? Lol you gotta be kidding me sports chosun. They're at their level? At least 2ne1 and snsd don't need to beg the audience to look at them during their encore stage. Media play.

    ReplyDelete
  166. Yep. When your transnational business circuits professor cites Sistar instead of "Korean Wave Monolith: Girls Generation" in class, then we'll talk about popularity.

    ReplyDelete
  167. at least they are not wearing panties on stage and Korea is not the US music industry where nugus like crayon pop can instantly make it in a few months, their market is tiny meaning groups like skarf and crayon pop don't stand a chance of making it if they don't have anything special

    ReplyDelete
  168. OfficialKARALoverJuly 3, 2013 at 4:21 AM

actually outsold issue is just another issue .its like
Circle of Life ..sometimes you are up sometimes you are below..snsd outsold KARA..kara outsold snsd..
    look at their new release
    The New Single
    48,740+ 2 weeks SNSD Love&Girl
    65,588+ 1 week KARA 8th Single

but we all know their sales really declining ... so its not good to debate about it now since..im also worried about kara

    ReplyDelete
  169. THIS. Seriously, if you want to survive in this industry, you have to have loyal fans who will buy every product you sell. The public can change its mind as easily. Relying on public recognition cannot assure a successful career in the industry cause trend changes. Fans will always be there as long as they are treated well.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Michael, you came out of your grave to say THIS? Damn it, man, priorities!

    ReplyDelete
  171. it can sistar now but some other group few years later...

    ReplyDelete
  172. Must be employing YG's journalists for media playing.

Or Sports Chosun, who exactly in Starship has that much money to line your pockets, huh?

    ReplyDelete
  173. what?! LOL haha
    Give it to me? haha

    ReplyDelete
  174. Sports chosun is pretty desperate I assume.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Cool. I see a lot of females at their events though. Their screams are hardcore, haha.

    ReplyDelete
  176. Maybe you should watch AKBINGO. Although most of the members in old episodes of AKBINGO have graduated(and they are the best tbh) Just memorize the relevant members or the members you like.

    ReplyDelete
  177. Fanbase = longevity.

Don't try to disregard fans when you think of success. Who else buys their stuff???

    ReplyDelete
  178. I really like Sistar and their songs and there's no denying that they have a good POTENTIAL to be a great girl group. But it needs more than several hit songs and monstrous digital sales to be what this journalist claimed. For one, Sistar doesn't have what every huge stars has -- a huge and loyal following.

    ReplyDelete
  179. Today's been a field day in the news world. Guess they wanted to one-up other news sites.

    ReplyDelete
  180. Yeah, since Dispatch managed to get the Won Bin-NaYoung dating news.

    ReplyDelete
  181. agree.. just look at JYJ they can survive until now even without having appear in broadcast TV because they have a huge fandom who will support and buy their product..

    ReplyDelete
  182. actually 1st article was released 2 days ago or smth... ppl ignored it

    ReplyDelete
  183. i'm listening to snsd songs now.. and...........................fuck life im gonna get back to my grave

    ReplyDelete
  184. Mmhmm. guess it can start trending after a couple of days yeah.

    ReplyDelete
  185. Errr...SNSD is not putting other groups down.

    ReplyDelete
  186. Not only does Sistar not have an actual fandom to speak of (relative to actual top groups like SNSD, 2NE1, Kara, WG in the past), but Hyorin is also slowly destroying her voice and she will no longer be able to sing in a few years. Good luck continuing your group then.

    ReplyDelete
  187. i actually think that ppl simply were like wtf , ignore this

    ReplyDelete
  188. Bye~did Wake Up revive you? You can try Sunflower (well I could only come up with the angsty ballad).
