From what I understand, Pledis filed a damage suit against cosmetics company 'Point' for going against contract terms. She had been contracted for a year and an automatic additional year once the first contract expires and should everything go all right, but after the first year, the company decided not to contract with her again.

Pledis saw this as a breach of contract and filed a damage suit for $400,000 USD. At the first hearing, the court ordered for the company to pay her $250,000 USD, but at the second (most recent) hearing, the judge took the side of the company by reasoning that they had already told UEE that they would not be signing her on for another year before her first contract expired so they were within the terms of the contract.

I'm pretty sure they know what kind of influence this will have with other advertisers once they see that she's going against a company like this... Seeing as how they didn't take that into account, Pledis seems to think they've used up all they can out of UEE and have no use for her anymore.
