Onew apologizes for middle finger swear

Article: Onew apologizes for middle finger controversy "Reflecting"

Source: Sports Seoul via Nate

1. [+620, -50] And his fans were shielding him saying he was in the middle of playing rock, paper, scissors ㅋㅋㅋ Such half a$$ed shielding ㅋㅋ

2. [+415, -29] His fans were running around shielding him saying it was rock, paper, scissors and now he comes out and apologizes ㅋㅋ

3. [+453, -211] It's good that he acknowledges it right away like this. I hope he watches his attitude next time.

4. [+78, -7] I'm honestly a Shawol myself ㅋㅋㅋ and I'm so embarrassed by the fans that were calling it rock, paper, scissors. Don't you know that that will get us more hate? Onew oppa is in the wrong and he should definitely apologize but now he's getting more hate cuz of the fans;;; And to the people arguing why he's in trouble for putting up the middle finger when everyone else does, it's because he did it in public in front of everyone else

5. [+66, -25] If he's like this on broadcast, imagine his private life ㅎㅎㅎ

6. [+60, -13] He did it while waiting for the broadcast to start? The excuse seems like they're not even trying because I'm sure this isn't their first time recording a radio show. The cameras are on even when it's an ad break so it doesn't make sense that he didn't know.

7. [+49, -25] Hello! I'm shining SHINee's Fu*kyew!

8. [+42, -11] I used to think positively of him but look at him now just because he misused a finger, his image is completely over. Reflect.

1. [+2,737, -156] I get that anyone can put up the middle finger, I just didn't expect it from him

2. [+2,706, -196] The finger you can't resist, Lucifu*k!

3. [+2,524, -480] As long as he apologized right away instead of denying it like T-ara, that's all that's needed. Boys joke around like this often anyway.

4. [+1,832, -93] It's good that he apologized instead of spouting bullsh*t... Onew is 100 times in the wrong for this so he should just be careful next time.

5. [+1,694, -116] A bit disappointed because it's the complete opposite of his innocent image... You really can't judge a person by their outer appearance. I bet the fans who were claiming he was playing rock, paper, scissors are also deeply disappointed.

6. [+1,501, -223] It's not like he put it up himself like Jay Park did, he probably didn't think the screen would capture it. Just be careful next time.

7. [+1,301, -61] Shawols, if you guys would just shut up, he wouldn't be getting hated to this extent.

8. [+1,303, -66] Apologizing is better than shutting up and saying "I don't know~" Just don't do it next time.

9. [+994, -97] Half of the conversations held between men are filled with swears

10. [+588, -42] I see some fans who are acknowledging their own idol's mistake. That's good. It would be great if every fandom did that.

WOW, isn't that too much? It's like she/he's saying that onew swears so much in private life. Netizens are really hypocrites.

    ReplyDelete
  4. but im really surprised with this news.. i really didnt think that onew would make such a mistake...

  5. some netizens neeed to take the fucking broom out of their assholes and realize how stupid and ignorant what they're saying sounds

  13. Whether or not we as I-fans think it's an issue or not isn't the point. His domestic image is so much more important to SM than his image among international fans so he did right by apologizing. Netizens will let it slide since his apology was swift and sounded genuine so I'm not worried.

    ReplyDelete
  14. And flipping someone off is the worst thing this guy's ever done?! Friends joke around like this all the time. I get that he's a public figure and it's an issue in Korea, but come on. This isn't even worth talking about a "ruined image".

    ReplyDelete
  15. he was doing it to Jjong. Are you a girl? My guy friends do it to each other all the time XD

    But yeah it was impolite.

    ReplyDelete
  16. at least these only have a few votes. must be anti fans.

The other votes with 2k+ are normal reactions, and they seem pretty appeased. How they let this go.

    ReplyDelete
  17. i'm sorry but this is turning into a way bigger issue than it should be. netizens seriously need to back off!!!!!!!!!!! stop acting like you guys are so perfect. nobody is perfect. how many people have not made a mistake they regret in their life. this is nothing compared to the ones i've made. i'm so done with all this drama. it breaks my heart thinking that onew & SHINee might be upset over all this happening.

can we all just get back to what we were doing before all this started please -.-

    ReplyDelete
  18. lol i was thinking media play too.., OTL

    ReplyDelete
  19. Is idol meant to be an angel ?

    ReplyDelete
  20. seriously not every shawol is shielding onew..
we know he's wrong whether he's aware of the cam of not..
    and he's already apologizing
but please.. do you guys netizen have to bash him to this extent ?
do this matter have to be blown up til this big ?
    onew is not a saint

  21. He is still human..

these comments sound so much nicer than the ones they gave Jay ...

    ReplyDelete
  23. [+620, -50] And his fans were shielding him saying he was in the middle of playing rock, paper, scissors

Lol!!! His scissors just had 1 blade.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think they took it too seriously ._.
    Well, at least he apologized~

    ReplyDelete
  25. Onew doesn't do scissors, yo he be hardcore and shanking it.

  26. Amirah Aina AzahariMarch 19, 2013 at 8:12 AM

Okay he did wrong and apologised already. so get it over cant we?

    ReplyDelete
  27. It's Korea. duhhh.
It's rude to show a middle finger in a broadcast show.

    ReplyDelete
  28. The replies are getting dumber now omfg.

    ReplyDelete
  29. You guys are always blaming netizens when K-media are the ones who wrote so many articles about this.

    ReplyDelete
  30. well don't worry much... look at the comment...
the most thumbs up one is the positive comments.... ^^ so we know the majority of them do grant Onew's apology... :) only the hypocrite still bash him..

    ReplyDelete
  31. Because Jay gave what was essentially a half-assed apology.

    ReplyDelete
  32. oh god I'm laughing so hard at these two X''D

    ReplyDelete
  33. These netizens act like they are some sinless person who never curse or flip in their whole life thus they have the right to decide whether someone is guilty or not and when someone needs to reflect. Smart a$$ess.

    ReplyDelete
  34. [+49, -25] Hello! I'm shining SHINee's Fu*kyew!

this is great, hoping this nickname sticks like g druggin, t-trash, and slut U

    ReplyDelete
  35. Glad he apologized so quickly

    ReplyDelete
  36. So true , just like everyone here trying to judge a person.

    ReplyDelete
  37. and he did put the pic himself, didnt he

    ReplyDelete
  38. Some of you should just accept that what Onew did was wrong.

If this isn't a big deal, SM won't respond so quickly about this.

    ReplyDelete
  39. most of all i think it's childish, I'm not sure I ever seen someone gives a middle finger since I was in elementary school

    ReplyDelete
  40. Well that was pretty fast of him to apologize. I thought it'd be at least a whole day after but oh well. The sooner you do it, the better.

    ReplyDelete
  41. It says a lot for Onew's clean reputation when such a silly thing like this is already a scandal. Yup, it was immature and very careless of him to do so during broadcast, but LOL this is seriously nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  42. LOL he did a ttakbam sign to Jjong. xD

    ReplyDelete
  43. well, most of us accept it and some are even happy for it(which i think is a bit weird), only to some fangirls still think 'oppa didn't mean it':) and SM respond was quite chill this time round~

    ReplyDelete
  44. More like no apology lol. He basically said 'Sorry but I'm actually not sorry. You need to deal.' And posted up more middle fingers lol.

I'm not hating on Jay Park but I do think that if your fan base includes young Korean fans in Korea and you're also basing your career in the Korean entertainment industry, then you should at least adhere to basic cultural principles and not think that you can do whatever the hell you want just because you don't cater specifically to the idol market anymore. Again, I'm not hating on Jay; I think he is a very talented artist (& I totally ship him with Hyorin omg). This is simply my opinion regarding his handling of the situation.

But I digress... I think netizens are easier on Onew because he gave a genuine and swift apology and didn't make any excuses.

    ReplyDelete
  45. kinda dissappointed at him... he shouldnt do it at public place.. he should be careful next time

    ReplyDelete
  46. lol. because Jay was Korean American and when it comes to him, some people love to throw that "cultural difference" bs lols

    ReplyDelete
  47. 9. [+994, -97] Half of the conversations held between men are filled with swears

exactly. he did nothing wrong. all the netizens judging him (both korean and international) are a bunch of pathetic hypocrites.

    ReplyDelete
  48. EJ better stay away.. =_=

    ReplyDelete
  49. [+66, -25] If he's like this on broadcast, imagine his private life ㅎㅎㅎ

What he does in his private life is none of their fucking business! Talking shit about someone they don't know is 10000 times worse than any finger flicking.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I guess it was wrong in relation to his image, but the act in itself is harmless.

    ReplyDelete
  51. 7. [+1,301, -61] Shawols, if you guys would just shut up, he wouldn't be getting hated to this extent.

    THIS.

I can't with some of those shawols, especially K-shawols, trying to shield him.

It''s obviously not a rock-paper-scissor game but I seen posts in K-boards and news articles by Shawols trying to use that excuse.

And for I-fans, stop saying that it's not a big deal just because you guys go running arounf with your middle finger in air. Why don't you guys stick your lovely middle fingers in Korean TV shows and let's see if K-media and netizens will ignore your behavior.

If this isn't a big deal, then Onew won't be topping the Korean news and search portals now, K-journalists won't write about this and SM won't respond about this.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. you shouldnt be so quick to judge his fans...i guess you think they are shielding him because of this comment? no... most of them are not

      Delete
  52. lol Pretty much. Jay was repeatedly shooting himself in the foot in those weeks. He needs to learn how to balance his idol and artist image better. If he didn't care about public opinion, he shouldn't have debuted as an idol in the first place. You can't play two sides of the same coin and not expect the repercussions.

I like Jay too but he makes stupid mistakes.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Those comments are irrelevant because they have so + signs. I would focus on the second article but it's clearly the one with more views. Idk why NB put the other article first.

    ReplyDelete
  54. didn't anyone realise that it was taken accidently? they haven start their introduction, they just went in -> sit down-> start playing after that the camera facing the DJ and onew's middle finger come out.. but of course as an idol he should not do that action in public.. but as an normal person you could do this and no one give a Sh*t about it.. too bad he is an idol
but happy that sm and onew reaction quickly for this, because the longer you drag the more hate you will get:)

    ReplyDelete
  55. Isn't this like your 7th comment already? lol, stop trying to chastise, the dude said he was sorry. (For something normal human beings do all the time at that.) Yes, it was a big deal, but it's obviously dying down now.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Nobody actually cares about this. Anyone who says something even slightly harsh is just a troll like most Korean netizens. Its not a big deal at all and it shouldn't be.

    ReplyDelete
  57. lol theyre the biggest hypocrites ive ever seen tbh.
half of THEM are swearing in the comments and i'm sure majority of them has raised their middle finger some point in their life. geez. i wouldnt have even cared otl.

but he really did choose the wrong place to so that...erks.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Why is anyone even happy about this issue.
His image is being ruined by K-medias, K-netizens and even some Shawols trying to shield oppar.

"Let's celebrate because this is reality check for delusional fans who thinks Onew-oppar is a pure angel." =.=
Yeah, let's also watch how netizens talk shit about Onew.
    How pathetic.

    ReplyDelete
  59. It's kind of ridiculous how this escalated to the point where he has to apologize. But I think it's because this **~~pure~~** and ~~innocent~~ image was essentially forced on him. Onew is not perfect and I don't know why people expect him to be.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I don't think this whole issue should be taken any further than it already has been, but I gotta say it's really stupid to be happy about it. Those fans who are happy must be deeply deeply misinformed.

    ReplyDelete
  61. 10. [+588, -42] I see some fans who are acknowledging their own idol's mistake. That's good. It would be great if every fandom did that.
    THIS.
even if it have lesser vote but people still acknowledge that shawols know their idol mistake.
and please tell me or name one fandom that doesn't shield their idols when negative news came out:)

    ReplyDelete
  62. which is something that interests me a lot... coz u know, dok2 and beenzino posted in their insta double flips and they are in the korean entertainment industry as well. haven't read any article about it. jay's fanbase consists of 20+, 30+ and 40+ fans not young korean teens ^^

    ReplyDelete
  63. "And for I-fans, stop saying that it's not a big deal just because you guys go running arounf with your middle finger in air" are you fucking serious? Stop judging and acting so righteous, you're not God. And if a little middle finger really is the devil incarnated then maybe you shouldn't go out into the big bad world especially the internet. God forbid you see anything so evil and a middle finger. No go die

    ReplyDelete
  64. I don't want SHINee to win again in Inki because that chart is shit but I want them now this week because I want to see the reactions of K-netizens after this issue. lol
Maybe I should prepare my popcorn lol

    ReplyDelete
  65. No real Shawol thinks he's a pure angel dumbshit. That's why many are saying it's no big deal.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Your really a joke. I would have taken you seriously, but stating that i-fans run around with our middle fingers in the air? Stop being effin ignorant. It's people like you who give too much power to a freakin finger!

    ReplyDelete
  67. i know! it's like just because he put up is middle finger, then he must be some swearing kid that fans don't know about....like I bet most of them put up their middle fingers too...

    ReplyDelete
  68. Actually shawols already know he isn't innocent. He said this innocent Onew is not the real him few times. You can say delusional fans who don't know this much still think he is innocent and an angel.

    ReplyDelete
  69. you can say they happy because
    1) it was SHINee first scandal news other than dating news
    2) onew show another side of him
    3) some onew's fans are REALLY delusion and think that Onew is very pure and blah blah blah so this can give those delusion fangirls a slap to tell them onew is a human.
but most of them are reason number 2. they finally saw badass onew:p and their 2nd album coming out which will show the darker side of SHINee so some people will connect these two thing together and get excited

    ReplyDelete
  70. It's just rude and not polite. It can lower your image I mean look at Jay Park's articles when he took the Selcas..

    ReplyDelete
  71. Number 7 was just a joke lol

    ReplyDelete
  72. Guys always joke around like this... I totally agree! On a side note, I get to see a manlier side of Onew!

    ReplyDelete
  73. why in the world would any fan be happy that SHINee finally had a scandal. i'm sorry but that is 100% stupid as heck. scandals are not good things, no matter how you swing it.

additionally, it's not good to show a side of you that is badly reflected upon by the public, as a PUBLIC figure.

i myself think that it's not a big deal at all, Onew's as angelic as he's ever been and still a great person. but shame on those fans who are happy because of this, or any other scandal that'll come in the future. stupid, stupid fans.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Dok2 and Beenzino are indeed in the entertainment industry but they don't market their music towards the same audience that idols cater to. Jay started off as an idol where songs are produced for mass consumption, meaning you had to play it safe (& I am pretty sure his fan base consists of teenagers because I see fangirling from that age group quite often). Dok2 and Beenzino started off directly within the Korean hip hop world where you don't have as many restrictions as an idol would, so you can't really compare them to one another.

What I am trying to say is, Dok2 and Beenzino's music was never geared towards a younger audience nor was their career based on keeping a perfect image, hence why no one really cares about the things they say or post.

    ReplyDelete
  75. The amount of 'reflection' time I'd have to do for flipping someone off [ basically my family and friends ] well, I might as well just live in a hole.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Lol don't get too worked up this is not the majority of people freaking out. Even if to some it want a big deal it's a rude thing to do specially while you are being filmed. He should have known better, he already apologized so just let him reflect and it will be forgiving. It's only because of his image that it was a bit startling

    ReplyDelete
  77. It's ok http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mbj0s0vvea1r0vruco1_r1_500.gif

    3. [+453, -211] It's good that he acknowledges it right away like this. I hope he watches his attitude next time.

Look at the amount of down votes in these positive comments ==
Don't you guys think that it's too much to call him F*cknew like that ?
What he did was inappropriate, I admit. But it's not like he really cursed someone with hate or committed a crime.
Get a life K-netizens. Because of hypocrites like you, Korea becomes the country with highest rate of suicide.

    ReplyDelete
  79. ikr I didn't mind Shinee being clean of any "scandals", I'd have preferred it stayed that way

    ReplyDelete
  80. I think people that make up such horrible nicknames are worse people than those that swear and stuff. C'mon, even if it's rude to swear, at least we're not rude AND mean AND bullies. Making up nicknames like this is going too far, and it's making you seem like the schoolyard bully. Also rather hypocritical of you too.

    ReplyDelete
  81. 5. [+66, -25] If he's like this on broadcast, imagine his private life ㅎㅎㅎ

YEAH! WHAT A BEAST! Picking his nose, farting and everything! He must be de devil.

    ReplyDelete
  83. you could say teenagers fangirl about Jay but really, majority of his fanbase in SK are over 20+, 40+ being the most, hence, his 2 concerts in '12 being 19+ ... anyway, what i'm trying to drive at is that...

are people more accepting of the flipping if you are from the hiphop world? is it safe to assume that it isn't exactly a cultural thing? more like "target market" driven perspective?

jay hasn't been marketing himself as an idol for 2 years now. curses on twitter, released sex songs, tatted up bod. no flowery, goody two shoes image to maintain. take him at face value. why do people force that idol standard image on him? ^^

    ReplyDelete
  84. you never know what some of them is thinking:p scandal can mean people pay attention to you therefore they are interested to write this article out.. there is one picture below which have other idols pointing middle finger but jourlists didn't write about it or they did write about them but no respond from netizens.
and i wrote:but most of them are reason number 2. they acknowledge onew mistake but at the same time they think of another reason to make themselves feel happy:) i see nothing wrong with that.
Do you know why some stupid/delusion fan live happier than a normal one? because they live in their own lala land. But as a human, sometime i rather to be stupid/delusion fan because it will be better to be happy rather than sad over this kind of thing.
And I prefer him to be jinki(human) rather than onew(angelic). I feel that people who connected with the word 'angel' are really sad and stress. It is not a good word to me if you are saying someone is an angel:/

    ReplyDelete
  85. The different between him and Jay Park is Jay Park took the picture himself whereas Onew was taken accidently. But of course you can say he should not do that action in the public at the first place, which i will agree too because he is an idol

    ReplyDelete
  86. EJ is the only one who find this rude, c'mon idols can do whatever than want on tv.

    ReplyDelete
  87. he didn't know that it will be capture by the camera.. he was playing with jonghyun(or taemin) but his hand was near the camera so.. but well he should be more careful and remember that he is an idol but i guess he was too hyper or whatever

    ReplyDelete
  88. omg did anyone see that MinhoxJia video it's so steamy i mean Onew thing is really nothing compared to that video Minho be gettin it on while Onew becomes Fucknew

    ReplyDelete
  89. oh no, I disagree with you. There are fans look up on them and will follow what they do. If an idol hit someone on Tv, his/her fans will also hit other just because their idol did it. Even though idols are human but they are not normal people:( They have influence for others

    ReplyDelete
  90. well Fu*kyew! then

    ReplyDelete
  91. true but netizens commented too i agree though media blew it out of proportion but it could be because right now SHINee is really in the public eye one little mistake and bam they will on the chopping block

    ReplyDelete
  92. I don't really care about him doing it other than I think it was dumb and immature.
What actually ~upsets me is that he's said several times how he dislikes girls who swear and do this sort of stuff.. So it's ok for guys but not for girls then?
Onew you're a bias of mine but if that's the way you think, I'm not here for that..

    ReplyDelete
  93. i agree everyone is reacting a bit different i am content in that this is a wake up call for delusional fangirls who think their oppa is an angel or whatnot ... i really hope they understand that Onew made a mistake apologized and hopefully moved on

    ReplyDelete
  94. why would he do that? it's not like whe was doing the middle finger to them!

    ReplyDelete
  95. You people who are making out Onew to be some kind of devil just because he showed the middle finger need self reflection yourself and evaluate your sad ass lives, i'm sure something must be seriously wrong with it if you're really gonna sit here and judge somebody's character because of this little thing.

The middle finger is so commonly used worldwide its UNshocking. Its nothing. NOTHING.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Onew did the middle finger. omg this means that he must be a drug dealer or some mafia leader
    .__________.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Hm lol, I'm SHINee fan and K-Shawols are not that young (compared to the intl-fandom anyway) but what about Justin Bieber? Most his fans are in their teens, and sometimes very young (12 or 13) and still the guy swears and flips off like there's no tomorrow... is it because of difference of culture? I think it's stupid, no matter the country, kids are still kids and adults are still adults uh.

    ReplyDelete
  98. lawl. In my country the stars curse on TV and show whatever finger they want. But well, it's South Korea so.. I guess apologizing and reflecting will do. xD

    ReplyDelete
  99. yeah cause that blurry middle finger from a radio program is going to influence fans to do the middle finger... yeah right

    ReplyDelete

"[+994, -97] Half of the conversations held between men are filled with swears"

tbh. i'm a girl and i always play around with my friends like this. i don't know how to say it but the closer i am to them the more comfortable it feels to swear? he definitely shouldn't have done this in a broadcast but the netizens are blowing it out of proportion. as if they've never said 'fuck' in their life before.

    ReplyDelete
  106. That irked me as well. The whole, "Boys swear all the time, Boys physically fight, Boys will be boys it's fine. It's nothing." But then when girls do it, BAM, outcasted immediately, stained for life.

    ReplyDelete
  107. how do you reflect. over a finger? soon they'll be mad because he's still going on variety shows after showing his finger. i'm... how is this going to work out?

    ReplyDelete
  108. lol its amazing how they want him to reflect for giving the middle finger. They are so overly sensitive, yes he was stupid, but seriously?

    ReplyDelete
  109. he apolized, then finish,he is smart young hot blood man!
when marijuana.,sex free, drunk driver still able to show up on tv broadcast, why they make it big for middle finger?

    ReplyDelete
  110. I don't understand why this turned out to be such a big deal. When I was in elementary school in Korea kids would flash the middle finger all the time as a joke and at most the teacher would say "Be nice~" like no one considered it bad. I'm around the same age at Onew and Jonghyun so they were probably introduced to the middle finger in that same environment... I'm 100% certain Onew would not get how bad that gesture is considered in the West (like how Westerns don't get how some gestures in Korea are considered offensive/rude)

    ReplyDelete
  111. yeah but Onew a celebrity, an idol

so Korean are more sensitive and

they did also mention why he would do it when camera's were rolling which shows that they would be fine if he did it when camera's WEREN'T rolling.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Exactly. Netizens criticize so much...as if none of them has ever sworn or flipped someone off in their life *rolls eyes*.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Not to mention that JB was 2 hours late to HIS OWN concert because he was "too busy playing video games." Goes to show how responsible he is and how much he cares for his fans *rolls eyes*

All fandoms defend their "oppas" or "unnies" whenever something negative is released by the press. LOL it's just the mentality of fandom.

@ JMNo: Not ALL shawols are saying "it was just rock-paper-scissors," don't generalize fandoms. Not everyone's like that.

I won't be surprised if all of them (obviously cept Jay) are photoshopped.
Why are you people so gullible?

    ReplyDelete
  117. I dunno about you but anybody even normal people who'd give me the finger would comes off to me as rude and impolite. First Shawols learning impolite Japanese then Onew himself doing this. Doesn't sit well with me.

I get the apology and reflecting thing, but it does change Onew's image. Jay Park is in his gangsta image with his tats and all (but it doesn't excuse him, it just explains him), but Shinee doesn't have that image.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Oh My GOD, he put up his middle finger?

Lol The middle finger has officially turned Onew into a bad person. Next, he's gonna steal a car.....XDDDDD

    ReplyDelete
  120. Soooo Taemin can tell an entire audience of people to shut the fuck up but Onew can't put up his middle finger after Jonghyun said something stupid? Am I the only one who sees bullshit here? He's 25 years old. K-netizens look for shit to fuss about.

  125. Cultural differences? Yes. We know its stupid but it's the truth.
Korean celebrities live off half of their career working and forming their image even though it's not their real self. One mistake and it's over. Unlike in American celebrities, whenever they do something wrong, they'll be like "oh, whatever" and their career would still be running. South Korea is a conservative country.

  127. Don't fucking ditate me to stay away. I'll comment whenever I want to. I wasn't even gonna comment on this article and in fact, I liked that they apologized quickly and toned down my disappointment towards him but you Shawols are mentioning me as if I was the wrong one. I'm again disgusted with you Shawols.

    ReplyDelete
  128. I literaly laughed at how my name was mentioned in two comments here. They're mentioning me as if I was the only stupid one because they just love hating K-netizens and they hate the fact that one.

    ReplyDelete
  129. i agree with you with some points but he apologized however what i don't agree with is that he was joking around with his band mates i am sure they curse and what not in their dorms it's just unfortunate he got caught in the act and i am sure you have heard that when people learn a new language they are first interested in the bad/curse worse i am sure Shawols learned more than just bad words lol you pretty much judge the whole fandom and SHINee because of what Onew did lol please ... Shawols already got their reality check yes Onew isn't perfect but he reflected and we have the right to forgive him and move on as fans that's the least we can do

    ReplyDelete
  130. how do you know Jonghyun said something stupid and why would you bring up Taemin's performance up here when it was just a performance ... that has nothing to do with Onew ... you must be one of his many akgae fans geeze stop trying to bring down other members to defend him he did something wrong and apologized lets move on ok

    ReplyDelete
  131. and the the other members don't have akgaes? XD

    ReplyDelete
  132. not as many as Onew lol they started that rumor about members bullying him what not his fans are the most delulu out of all lol i just don't like how people keep saying Jonghyun deserved it or Taemin cursed too and Key does it all the time what not Onew isn't perfect but he said sorry just saying as fans we gotta move on

    ReplyDelete
  133. should have waited to convey that message till the cameras weren't rolling though that's the point some netizens are making

    ReplyDelete
  134. I get why he has to apologize but isn't "reflecting" a little too much? How much can you reflect over something like that?

    ReplyDelete
  135. At least he didn't throw a towel to Jonghyun

    ReplyDelete
  136. I totally agree!! my close friends and I, we flip each other off all the time but that doesn't mean we are delinquents or whatever.... when you're comfortable with someone, such things simply don't count as insults anymore.
but seriously k-netizens can be such hypocrites , I bet they're not saints either.

    ReplyDelete
  137. What lovypig said plus Jay Park's image was already kinda ... not so great with the public after people got wind of the whole myspace deal...

    ReplyDelete
  138. any other person would think he murdered someone

    ReplyDelete
  139. On the point of learning bad words when learning a new language - they didn't learn curse words first; they learned to curse at Japanese fans, they learned to be rude to Japanese fans. That is not excusable by "I'm sure they learned more" because they prepared to be rude to fellow fans.

Yes, he reflected and via SM he apologized. That still is an eye opener that behind the scenes, this guy who said he doesn't like a girl who swears actually is one who does. He and SM are just sorry he got caught.

    ReplyDelete
  140. I don't hate K-netizens, I dislike the ones who criticized Onew and tons of other K-celebrities for being human when the K-netizens fuck up just as much or even more than K-celebrities. It's hypocritical to act like a perfectionist and criticize someone else.

  146. well i ain't defending him ... he did make a mistake doing that in public and i don't know him personally so i am not sure why he doesn't like girls swearing maybe he's the type of guy who wants girls to not swear but it's ok for guys to swear alot of guys in Korea are like that tbh i am not going to scrutinize him for his personal preference ... and the fans could have learned those words maybe they wanna know what the hell Japanese fans are saying to them did you not think about that ... Kfans aren't the only rude ones i am sure you would wanna know if someone is cussing you out or if you want to retaliate they probably learned it because of that .. you really think Shawols are just going to curse at every Japanese fan they see i don't think so ... Onew made a mistake you can judge him but you can't judge all the fans by grouping them in the same category

    ReplyDelete
  147. I see what you did there! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  148. You are just as hypocritical as them. Why don't you take the time out to learn or understand why they just might be getting so upset?
It's a cultural thing. Korean culture and mannerisms is all about respect.
Stop acting like a silly fan girl and try to understand koreans sometimes

    ReplyDelete
  149. This should be the top comment. Not the rest of these ignorant western comments telling koreans how they should react to an incident like this

    ReplyDelete
  150. I think the problem as cultural difference, we don't see the middle finger as a big deal, it's shown in our media constantly. My adult cousin even showed it to his mom as a joke and everyone laughed. Since we (not to generalize i-fans) don't see it as a big deal, a lot of i-fans are angry that knetizens (again, not to generalize) are making such a big deal about something we think is funny. Since you agree and they can't talk to the knetizens in the articles, they are taking there anger out on you. Which isn't necessarily right either.
I personally don't think Onew should have to apologize, but it's a cultural difference and Onew is korean.

    ReplyDelete
  151. I'm not trying to bring down anyone nor am I an akgae fan. I'm being practical here. Onew and Jonghyun were probably playing around is all I meant. No need to get upset.

    ReplyDelete
  152. I think it just goes to show how a lot of international fans have this superiority complex when it comes to K-netizens.

    ReplyDelete
  153. I'm glad that you understand there are cultural differences. The problem is that i-fans REFUSE to understand cultural differences and conclude that K-netizens are the wrong ones by saying they're making such a big deal out of it and that they just want to hate. Don't they fucking get that we're talking about KOREA, not Western countries? -.- Thanks alot for pointing the flaws out, glad there are some reasonable i-fans like you.

    ReplyDelete
  154. does he have a pair? why is he apologizing?. should be a man like jay.

    ReplyDelete
  155. cultural difference? the reason the middle finger is considered a bad gesture in korea is because of western influence.

just in recent years i guess the gesture as lost a lot of it's offensiveness in the west.

    ReplyDelete
  156. "Onew apologizes for middle finger controversy "Reflecting""

*Imagines Onew going to Hongki to get super Shineey nail art for ultra reflection*

(I'm an Onew fan too. Don't stab me with stakes)

    ReplyDelete
  157. i didn't mean only this incident-_- i only disagree with the 'idols can do whatever than want on tv' and onew's middle hand was taken accidently

    ReplyDelete
  158. oh please, i only replying to the "idols can do whatever than want on tv" not to this incident-_-

    ReplyDelete
  159. i think swearing for fun is different and swearing like it's a daily habit is different.

    ReplyDelete
  160. I mean it was really offensive when a while back and it still is in certain situations. Now however, in the west it's lost its offensiveness enough to be used in casual situations as a joke. That's what I meant.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Forgive and forget :) I still love him no matter what ♡★♥♡♥♡♥

    ReplyDelete
  162. Thank You :) I wish I could say that were always true. I think I just seem reasonable because I wait before I type out comments, because I don't want to say anything I'll regret. I think other people just type right away, so then you only see the initial, emotional reaction. They are probably more reasonable than they might seem, but then I can only speak for myself since I don't know anyone personally. Don't worry though, I'm sure the majority of i-fans are reasonable, it's just that the reasonable ones are usually quieter. At least in my experience.

It also helps that I'm not really involved in this. I like SHINee but I'm not really a Shawol, so I don't feel the need to defend or attack Onew. This is an offensive sign in Korea, so I understand why Knetizens are angry. I would only think it wrong if they held it against him for a very long time, even after he apologized, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. However I also think that Onew did it to be funny and not offensive, so I'm not angry at him. It was stupid to do it in public though, so I will call him foolish. Which is exactly what I called Jay Park when he had the same controversy.

WOW, that turned into a really long reply. Sorry :/

    ReplyDelete
  163. Oh, shit, I almost gave a bath of tea on the sofa! Laughing SO HARD.

    ReplyDelete
  164. I don't get why Koreans are freaking out if anyone has been to Korean ballgame this is lonely commonly, not even games but with the younger generation too, this would be the same as people overreacting to an idol admitting to drinking soju while underaged it's normal, people who freak out and are lying to defend onew must not have comfortable relationships with their friends.

    ReplyDelete
  165. a majority of people here act as if what he did was absolutely not wrong yet if it was would you give the middle finger to your mom, dad, younger sibling, teacher, etc, etc?
At the end of the day it's rude and you can only do rude things to close friends who don't care.

Koreans take allot of things quite seriously i'm surprised people here haven't noticed by now, what's the epoint of commenting the same thing over and over, Koreans are raised to respect others and use proper manner anywhere in public that even hugging when your a couple in public is rare so why is this even suprising they got mad. Seriously if you can't handle there opinions from an obvious cultural perspective leave

    ReplyDelete
  166. God bless his middle finger.. it has too much power

    ReplyDelete
  167. you are no better than us i-fans LOL
who do you think you are to judge people like that ?

Standing away from the crowd and calling them miserable don't make you look any better

    ReplyDelete
  168. YES, there are cultural differences between Western and Eastern country, I acknowledge that being an Asian myself.

I also acknowledge that he is at fault in this case, but the problem itself isn't serious at all. This doesn't make him a bad person, nor show that all his smile and laugh and his cute side is fake. People are multi-dimensional, but some netizens are making him look like a devil only know how to curse others.

I can say that a lot of K-Netizens love verbally bullying celebrities on the Internet regardless of what they do. Guess that when the antis see Onew in real life, maybe they will jump over immediately to take his pics or just to catch a glance of him.
