Dispatch basically re-compiled all of the stuff netizens managed to find and summed it up in an article. Other media outlets are more or less copying netizen sources.
Sickkkkk how they're trying to pass off netizen work as their own 'exclusive' content. Korean journalism, hip hip hoorah!

Article: [Exclusive] 'Jungle' found to have filmed through tourism courses... Natives "As long as you pay, anything is OK"
Source: Dispatch via Nate
1. [+1,013, -42] So Dispatch makes the finishing stroke... Putting an end to the show..
2. [+760, -36] Dispatch scares me now...
3. [+399, -11] The most ridiculous part about the show are the captions... "A mysterious cave never visited by any outsider..." ㅋㅋㅋ And all of the interviews in the middle.. Daebak, they were all fake.. The Millennium Cave course is only 30 minutes by foot and yet the show dramatized it...

Article: 'Laws of the Jungle' under more controversy for staged footage.. 600$ tourism course?
Source: Herald News via Nate
1. [+364, -15] So why do they insist on saying every situation is 100% real... Every viewer that actually believed that was basically stabbed in the back. They should've let us know about this beforehand.. But they're too blinded by money so they continue to fool the viewers..
2. [+339, -17] I get that it's a variety show so a certain level of manipulation is to be expected but they're the ones pushing the reality concept over the viewers... These are not just a few evidences coming up, these are many.. What a way to end the show overnight.
3. [+303, -19] I used to love this show and I was one of the netizens who shielded it when articles about it being fake started to come up.. I didn't want to believe it. But day by day, more and more evidence is coming up.. and now I don't think I can believe in the show anymore. It's not even disappointment, it's a feeling of betrayal.

Article: Kim Byung Man clarifies manipulation controversy "I will put my life on the line to say the truth"
Source: Sports World via Nate
"I can say with confidence that some of the things we saw before our eyes put us in a life or death situation. There seems to be some misunderstanding over the places we visited being tourism packages but those packages guided you through easy paths that anyone can travel in. We purposely chose the more difficult paths to show viewers how we were able to overcome difficult situations. We really all genuinely did our best for the show. The only goal we have is to show the viewers how hard we work."
1. [+130, -24] "You can't startle him! Because then we'll have to pay an extra fee"
(TN: When the team would come across natives/native villages, Kim Byung Man would often tell the team to refrain from startling/pissing off the natives in case they reacted violently)
2. [+84, -6] I'm sure he wouldn't be able to say all this when he sees the evidence going around. It's not a matter of how hard they worked... What's important is that they lied to and tricked the viewers.
3. [+87, -22] You can't startle these people!!!!!! They'll card us if we startle them.

dispatch didn't even do much in this case tho all they did was collected everything into one article lmao
ReplyDeleteI can see that this show is gonna end soon. Like how Family Outing lost all of its popularity after caught manipulating a fishing scene.
ReplyDeleteCaught manipulating a fishing scene?how?wow i didnt know about this.
Deletelol all dispatch did was organized the pictures and then BAM "DISPATCH LOGO"
ReplyDeletehahaha.

ReplyDelete.............It's a reality tv show, you should've already knew it wasn't real. All reality shows are scripted to look real like Big Brother, I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Man vs Wild, etc.
lol... Dispatch were those kids on tumblr that took other peoples edits and added their own watermark to get notes weren't they??
ReplyDeleteI wonder when they they will realize that pretty much all TV is scripted as fuck.
ReplyDeleteOnly in Korea do people believe Reality TV to actually be real,Fun fact reality is boring as shit and doesn't entertain.
did they really think it was real before the CEO rant?
ReplyDeleteeven if the show claims that it's 100% real.. it's kind of obvious that it isn't. I'd question its authenticity even if it featured survival experts but this show has a bunch of celebs..
use your brain for once
I am from Ecuador and I have never been in the Amazonian jungle for shame. (galapagos yes). So they filmed they showed last year?????. Anyone could please tell me who went there???I miss my country.
ReplyDeleteSome people really never thought to question why a Korean reality show was given permission to visit these "never before explored" places for the first time, instead of having a scientific team or National Geographic do that? Some people really just nodded like idiots at the dramatic drivel that the cast was spouting off?
ReplyDelete/facepalm
Dispatch! I thought they were respected for owning their own pictures. WHY. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteOh, what happened in that fishing scene? *Outdated on FO eps*
ReplyDeleteThey fished a fish and it turned out that a diver had gone under the water and hooked the fish on the fishing rope. And the casts acted as if they caught the fish by themselves.
ReplyDeleteI think I remember a scene like that in the first. But they had a second season right after that people complained wasn't genuine right? I thought that was the reason the show stopped. Sigh
ReplyDeleteGo back to national geographic...
ReplyDeleteLaws of the Jungle 끝
ReplyDeleteikr. why korean is too sensitive over these issues waeeeee.. the show is interesting and enjoyable to watch. just deal with it
ReplyDeleteSo true. They're just mad because they realized that they're stupid. I don't get the all the whining. It's an ENTERTAINMENT show. The show gave enjoyment to their viewers so basically they did their job. Fooling them or not is just a part of the process. Dang crybabies. Reminds me of elementary kid who cry & yell obscenity when they feel embarrassed from looking dumb l.
ReplyDelete"(TN: When the team would come across natives/native villages, Kim Byung Man would often tell the team to refrain from startling/pissing off the natives in case they reacted violently)"
ReplyDeletewhat
May i iknow where the blue lake in the last pic....what a beautiful place..
ReplyDeleteDoes that happened in season 1 or 2?
ReplyDeleteSeason 1. The did season 2 right away but criticms from the manipulation still didn't go away and the casts were bad at variety shows so the season 2 completely failed and it quickly ended.
ReplyDeletehere Dispatch is implying that LOTJ is a fake variety show,so what do you call Dispatch when stealing somebodys work & watermark it as their own?
ReplyDeleteyeah we get it,reality shows are scripted but when SBS & LOTJ kept on insisting that it's "100% real" & evidences kept on popping up that tells otherwise,it destroys it's entertainment purposes.
what's with k-variety shows these year?it's being embroiled in scandals left & right.there's knee-drop-guru MC doing a monkey face infront of a japanese guest,WGM,etc.
