If you're just as confused as me.... His press con photos were posted on Pann so I checked to see what the response was like over there.. and they were more or less similar.

I ended up looking it up on Naver and there are all sorts of weird related search terms next to his name like 'Kim Bum Hamburger', 'Kim Bum Psychopath', 'Kim Bum Attitude'..
They're basically all rumors written by former classmates describing how although he studied hard and got good grades, he was an iljin that treated people like crap, beat classmates up, etc. The hamburger one specifically is about someone giving him a hamburger after class and him throwing it in the trash in front of them.
There's no proof to any of the rumors other than a couple sticker pictures of him with ex-girlfriends or whatever, which you can see here.
Kim Bum apparently addressed the rumors himself by apologizing instead of giving an award speech for his 2010 SBS New Star Award.
In February 2012 interview, he said, "I deliberated over what to do for a while until I got up on stage. I wanted to receive the congratulations of the crowd and express my gratitude, but I knew that apologizing was my priority at the time. After I was done with the filming, I showed young, immature actions amidst the many great memories I made so I had to ask forgiveness for that. I wanted to reach out to every single person that I had unintentionally hurt through my thoughtless actions and apologize to them."
On the rumors surrounding his attitude that continue to plague him today, he said, "I have heard of the rumors. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned. I'm the type that acknowledges hateful comments on the internet but tries to not let it get to me. I'd be too sorry to the people who still believe in me if I were to get shaken up by each of those rumors.
