Reader Request: Eun Ji Won's decision to support presidential candidate Park Geun Hye

Article: Eun Ji Won reveals support for presidential candidate Park Geun Hye "A decision made after a family meeting, please don't view it politically"

Source: Newsen via Nate [allkpop article here]

1. [+2,533, -643] I don't care who he chooses to support but it is clearly a political act so why is he telling us not to view it politically?? Exactly how are we supposed to view this decision? As a variety show?

2. [+2,063, -610] It's basically like saying... you drank alcohol, got in a car, and turned on the car... But please don't view it as drunk driving...

3. [+1,914, -573] How is it even possible to not view this politically?

Article: Eun Ji Won, aftermath of revealing support for Park Geun Hye

1. [+576, -188] He can do whatever he wants, he's related to her... As long as we vote according to what we believe in, it doesn't matter who's right or wrong.

2. [+519, -188] I can understand it since she's family and he just wants to help...

3. [+488, -176] Wouldn't it be weirder for him to not care at all about family? Helping in every way you can is what being a family is all about. There's no reason for us to hate on that.

  2. ''Please don't view it politically''..umm wth, how is it possible to do that lol. This makes it look like he isn't supporting her for the politics but rather for family ties. It doesn't matter who celebrities choose to endorse but just don't be stupid about it. He shoulda said 'Please don't view it as if I'm doing my family member a favour'.

The presidential candidate he's supporting is HIS COUSIN. I'm pretty sure that all other presidential candidates have the support of their family members, Eun Ji Won just so happens to be a celebrity which is why this is in the news.

Supporting your family is not a political act. It's an act of support. If Park Geun Hye was switching careers from politics to being a professional tap dancer and he were to publicly support her, is that a "political act" or simply a family member supporting another family member? <__<

However, donating thousands of dollars to your family member who is a presidential candidate for their campaign IS a political act. JFC.

  5. Is she the daughter of the ex-president who got killed by the chief of KCIA(now NIS) or is it someone else? How is her relationship with the public?

    1. Idk if the killer is the kcia chief or not, but if you're referring to the assasinated late president park chung hee, then yes, park geun hye is the daughter. Eun ji won's grandma is the late president's sister. Park geun hye is popular within the older generations I think. But I heard she is the most likely to win the election this time? Maybe netizenbuzz can help answer the question please?

    Agreed.

It may be a cultural difference, but here in America, no one was/is trippin' over celebrities and their political views. IE: Clint Eastwood=Romney, Scarlett Johansson=Obama

  7. yes, she's the daughter of the ex-president that committed numerous human rights violations against the Korean people. Many Korean people hate her for the fact that she justifies her father's actions but some people like her because her father also brought about industrialization to Korea

  8. He meant it as the opposite though. He IS saying that he's doing his family member a favor, which is why he asked people not to view it politically, because he's just being supportive. I think you got his intention a bit mixed up.

  9. i'll support my family as well

  10. I get what he was trying to say but...I feel like that makes him look stupid you know. It's like 'Hey, I don't care about policies but I want this person to rule Korea cos they're related to me!!!'. It would've looked better if he had just said he's voting for her because he agrees with her policies because isn't that the main reason you vote?

Either way it's his choice, he can vote for whoever he wants. I just found his statement a little weird...

  11. He didn't say shit about her voting. He said he's supporting her decision to run for president.

Stop trying to read between the lines. You have to be able to comprehend the situation completely first before you try and look for hidden meanings, and clearly you have demonstrated that you don't even know what's going on.

    Be quiet.

  12. Well... Clint Eastwood is sort of a joke in political circles because his speech at the Republican National Convention was sort of... loopy? He's a great actor and director, but if he's going to support a political party, he should hire a better speech writer or something.

  13. Umm no,

I'm not reading between no lines and maybe you should try and look at the bigger picture. Publically supporting a presidential candidate strongly suggests that he is voting for them duh... Otherwise why would he even go public. Obviously trying to gain attention for her.

'Be quiet'... lol, no thanks ^^

  14. Why is he getting hate for supporting her? If he doesn't support her then those antis will start saying he doesn't care about his family yadda yadda. What do all these people want!?
