Why can't korean companies understand that?

  4. To us, media play seems really stupid and like a waste of PR money but we're not the audience companies are targeting. They're targeting the casual netizen that just skims the rankings a few times a day and reads headlines to find any articles they're interested in clicking and reading. They won't necessarily be interested in Sunhwa or Suzy so they won't click her article and see these best replies but they'll remember that her headline was in the top 30 and think of her as popular/relevant enough to be up there. That's enough for companies to continue shelling out money for media play because there are a lot more people that skim headlines as opposed to clicking through each one, reading, and commenting.

I bet most of you skim allkpop articles that you're not interested in after reading the headline/title... It's the same concept! You'll never know what the content or comments were inside the article but you'll remember the headline somewhere in the back of your head.

    1. Waaahhh... now i understand.
it happen to me with reply 1997. I never read their news, but it keep appear everyday, and made a headline. so i taught it must be incredebily good. Then i try to read it and watch it, when R1997 Have been in 10th episode, and i end up love this drama. Same thing with block B. I found out recently that they are indeed cool after many news about them making headline

  5. Woah the last paragraph is totally me. I headline read almost all allkpop articles and read the little blur under but thats about it. But I tend to remember the headline and the groups that allkpop is clearly biased for.

  6. why would you refer to Suzy in Sunhwa's article? this shit that you mentioned was signed off by their management, not them. you gotta be delusional if you think they had any say.

  7. the stupid thing with media play is that they dont dont give it time. as soon as the artical is posted the votes go up and it becomes obvious that its a fishy artical. these people think that K netizens are stupid or wont notice but that is far from true.

if they want to increase the votes simply vote through out the day and dont leave rather retarded comments like "oh unnie is such a goddess, i wish could be like her" or "unnie doesnt use bb cream because her skin is flawless" comments like that are stupid/ no one is going to belive that, that is not a legit comment. its best to blend in rather than be caught red handed and look like a douche bag.

  8. Why are they attacking Sunhwa and Suzy and every other individual artist when it's the management?

  9. That answers my question. Many people have been called out for media playing yet they continue with their media play. They clearly must have achieved something to be so adamant in their media play campaign.

  10. In my opinion, K Netizens do know that the one who is at fault is the company. However, it is more damaging to the company if they attack its artists, since the company spends most of its effort and money marketing them.

  11. Wow that's harsh but she looks beautiful to me.

  12. Sunhwa is the ugliest visual. Why isnt Hyosung the face? Shes prettier than her.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I think they're all beautiful but yes Hyosung is gorgeous.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Because Hyosung is the "body".

  15. Wad is media play??

    ReplyDelete
  16. wtf she is the visual? omg

  17. My bias is Hyosung but I think Jieun is the prettiest in the group.

  18. That sorta makes sense... but why do they do media play for really random articles like "____ Smiles, Glowing Goddess Beauty" instead of articles that discuss upcoming albums...?

  19. you would think "top" stars would be above media play.

  20. tbh, it's because sexism in netizen-land is par for course. They'll attack the female star and not her management for something like media play.
