  2. SNL was hilarious and as the comments say it felt close to the original, perhaps because Jay is American

The PD tweeted last night's episode registered the highest rating for the show so far. Keep it up Jaebummie!!!

  13. Another ignorant statement from another bandwagon JYP hater around here on netizenbuzz.

    - Wonder Girls had a great comeback earlier this year and "Like This" ended up being one of the top 15 grossing songs this year.
    - 2am's comeback won multiple award shows and sold very well
    - miss A's "Touch" ruled music shows and got all kills. Even though "I Don't Need A Man" wasn't as successful, it still ranked in the top 10 Gaon charts for weeks.
    - Baek Ah Yeon may not have been as explosively successful as YG's Lee Hi, but Baek also got an allkill for her song on the charts. Her AND 15& grossed more digitally (gauge of general public interest) in their first four weeks of debut than any other idol rookie group's debut this year
    - And then there's 2pm. Even without a Korean comeback this year, they still managed to be the #1 idol group in CFs and their Japanese promotions tours were wildly successful as well.

And what has Jay done this year to qualify him as "doing a lot better than most JYP idols" exactly? Because he hosted one SNL show? He competed in a few Bboy competitions? Released a mixtape?

Everything I stated are facts that I can back up with evidence from Gaon Charts, news articles, and sales. And I only mentioned the highlights. So what is the basis for your statement?

I'm not here to bash on Jay or downplay his warm reception by the public. After all he's gone though, I'm really happy that he is being accepted again. I love Jay's music and personality, but I am so sick and tired of people bashing on JYP Ent without any good reason other than that's what everyone seems to do around here. If you don't like JYP, that's your prerogative. But don't say ignorant things without any factual basis or you'll just look like a delusional hating moron.

  14. You forgot something important in recalling what Jay Park did this year...New Breed? First full length album, 90,000+ physical sales and numerous chart positions. Pretty significant, I think. Agree with you in principle however, if only for a different reason, because it's irksome for me personally to see JYP entertainment as a measuring yard stick for how well Jay is doing. It's a thing of the past, there is no association between them now, and thus no ground for comparison, musically, image-wise, in any way. Jay Park is doing his own thing, within resources and support different from what idols of other companies get and he's doing it hella well. To make the status of his past company a scale for his achievements is doing disservice to him because of how far and differently he's come from there.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Let me reiterate that the point of my post was not to bash on Jay or downplay is accomplishments :D I would never have even said anything if the original comment didn't bash on JYP or even bring up that long forgone association.

I was only talking about things he did this year and I thought that New Breed was released in 2011. If that's not the case, then my bad. I liked most of the songs on it and some of them are even on my work out playlist haha. Didn't Jay also have a sold out solo concert this year in Korea as well? Jay is doing just fine on his own, just like how JYP is doing great this year too. I'm tired of people around netizenbuzz always finding a way to bash on JYP for no other reason than that it's easy so that's why I even brought it up to compare.

Anyways, I totally agree with you that Jay is now doing his own thing and creating music the the freedom that he always needed. People need to stop bringing up the past and just support him on his own journey right now!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Gotta agree with the Nichkhun fan. Even I don't care for JYP or his company, but I'm tired of seeing butthurt people always bring up his past company to legitimize Jay's success. He's come a long way and achieved a lot (considering his situation). Let's keep JYP out of the celebration, k?

  17. wtf why didnt you stay on allkpop

  18. why don't you stfu you talentless slut?

    ReplyDelete
  19. just cause they don't find something like this "normal" makes them unusual? first of all, this is not "normal" but a pleasure indulgence and is still something not often talked about in public. i mean seriously no one gives a damn about your sex life, keep it to yourself. stop generalizing.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Why was this comment thumbs down lmao? There was nothing but praise for JYP as well as Jay Park, obviously this site is filled with JYP haters. Y'all are pathetic. <3

    ReplyDelete
  21. Kpop fans need to seriously look up the word "bash" and learn how to use it correctly. Nothing against you, it's just that I have yet to see it used properly. That being said, the original post did not bash JYP(E) at all. They simply said that "Jay is doing better than most JYP(E) idols" and unfortunately for them, it's true. Not only Jay, but many non-Big3 idols are doing better than JYPE this year... and without the backing of a major company. 2012 just wasn't their year. Nothing wrong with that, but you can't get mad if people point it out. 2AM, missA, and Baek Ah Yeon are under JYPE subsidiaries and not JYPE, so does that really count? I mean, MBLAQ is under one of their subsidiaries, but are they part of JYPE also?

New Breed came out in February. He just released two singles from it last December. Jay is doing well this year not only against JYPE, but other other Big3 companies as well, so it's a shame to compare him just to those guys. I gotta say, though, that people will stop bringing up the past when Jay can freely promote his music like everyone else. When you're working at a disadvantage, it just makes his work even more meaningful.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Thank you for a well thought out comment.

I just see a LOT of negativity around this site, and it comes in full force especially if there is an article about JYP. The original poster might have just "simply said" that, but there was no reason to bring up the company whatsoever. It was a clear dig at JYP specifically and that is why I responded the way I did.

You are right that 2AM, miss A, and Baek Ah Yeon are co-signed to JYP subsidaries (BigHit Entertainment and AQ Ent), but they have dual contracts with JYP Ent as well. That is why 2AM and miss A are always featured at JYP Nation Concerts while artists such as GLAM, David Oh, and 8ight (who are signed under BigHit Ent) are not. So for that reason, I would say that yes, it does count.

As far as MBLAQ goes, they are signed under J. Tune Camp (Rain's company) but that's apparently different from J. Tune Entertainment which fused with JYP in 2011... yeah idk it's a big mess really so I just don't really count MBLAQ as part of JYP Nation at all haha.

Anyways, I will be the first to acknowledge that 2012 has not been JYP's year with all the scandals, group injuries, and sales when compared to YG and SM. However, not having amazing success does not equate to a failing company either. Going back to my original post, the individual artists under JYP have had a good year, even if JYP the company hasn't. As Sine pointed out, New Breed was released in 2012, I think it was the 2 singles released in 2011 that made me think other wise.

Since the original poster compared Jay's success to JYP's idols, that is why I brought it up. It wasn't to belittle Jay's success or accomplishments, it was just to show that JYP's idols are doing just as well. I do agree with you that Jay doesn't need to be compared to the Big3, but the JYP supporter inside of me is just sick and tired of so many netizens spreading around the idea that JYP is flopping.

"When you're working at a disadvantage, it just makes his work even more meaningful."

And I really liked that quote from you, it's true. All the best to Jay, I'm glad that things turned out better for him. In my personal opinion he was always meant to be a solo artist and didn't fit in 2pm but that's another rant for another day.

  23. Because you are annoying as fuck and take things too seriously. Keyboard warrior at its finest. I can already see the 5 accounts you made to agree with you. Pathetic.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Just close this account too okay?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Who gives a fuck.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yeah, and I find you to be an annoying little shit, who cares? It's too bad that you can't fathom the idea that maybe people actually agree with what I say and think that you're a dumbass.

And it's too bad really, I'm usually joking/trolling on allkflop. I've seen your comments, and I usually laugh at what you say because I tend to think the same way (GD's songs being nothing more than Americanized autotuned trash, MAMA awards are a big fat joke, etc). I'm only serious in JYP articles, I'll admit that.

Oh well, see you around! I'll make sure to take things seriously for you :P

    ReplyDelete
  27. Thanks. I agree, Jay was definitely meant to be a solo artist. He owns the stage. I have to admit, though, that I'm 100% anti-JYPE, have no idea what they're doing this year, and couldn't figure out the whole JYP Nation thing, so thanks for explaining. The negative articles just outnumbered the positive this year, I guess and people just ran with it. It a part of kpop. I'm just a casual kpop fan and have no love for any company (any more), so I see where you're coming from. Just don't let it get to you, I guess. It only adds fuel to their fire.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Why is nobody talking about the wedding picture at the end?! That makes the skit 100 times funnier! Using your wife's credit card to buy porn, Jay? Like she won't find out! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yeah, you're right. As international fans we only build our opinion based on what the media translates and feeds us so it can be easily misconstrued. It was nice talking with you, see you around!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Okay let's just end this because i also do agree with some things you say too. But i just think you take it a little too far sometimes. See you around too.

    ReplyDelete
  31. what's the point in talking with sb who has no idea what success means?

    ReplyDelete
  32. is here a doctor? sb has mental disorder~

    ReplyDelete
  33. because Naughty Nich kinky Khun was biased as fuck, stating (even inflating) every activity 2PM accomplished and downplaying Jay Park's success, despite her insistence on the contrary. Agree with what her main point was (there is just too much hate here, sigh), but Jay did much more than a mixtape and bboy competitions.

    ReplyDelete
  34. If you're taking about doing better, you probably mean korean activities, because you can't deny 2pm's asian and japanese success in 2011/12. They're touring all the time and their japanese albums are selling well.

and let's not forget Wooyoung sold over 60k according to gaon and over 70k according to Hanteo and he's not even popular. He sold more copies than 2AM/WG/miss A. How is that bad? I thought he wouldn't be able to sell more than 20k.

I really have no idea why people bring up jype in jay related articles.

    ReplyDelete
  35. He sold 90k according to hanteo and 70k according to Gaon. Both sources present different numbers and usually we see the 'real' number at the end of the year. It's just like Wooyoung for example who sold over 60k on Gaon and over 70k on Hanteo.

  36. Get real. Sage did her a service by educating her on the "NORMAL" behavioral tendencies of most men. If you can't handle this fact, gtfo the internet, where people DO openly talk about masturbation and other taboo subjects.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Excuses me.. Jay park's having today not because of JYP?
How long JYP had been trained him????

If I were JYP .. I would be very disappointed so so much.
But by the way I love Jay park and 2PM very much.

    ReplyDelete
  38. No where did i state that what she thinks or feels about the topic is in any way "unusual". I just simply stated that masturbation is a normal act of the male gender (and females too). Furthermore, i never revealed anything about my sex life, and definitely did not generalize. If you read my comment correctly, i said "most if not all" as it is a proven fact that more than 90% of men do this on a daily basis. Finally, as the guest comment has suggested, this is a topic which is widely and openly discussed, not only within the media but it's also apart of everyday life. Not only have you over analyzed my comment but have also somehow managed to also take it out of context.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Dude, like I said, I'm not a fan, so I can pretty much deny all I want because I have absolutely no idea what they have done! LOL All kidding aside, though, WY might not be popular, but he's from a supposedly popular group and their fans would want him to do well to make the group look good. It's really very simple. Besides, like I said too, he's from a Big3 company, so he has clout behind him. I didn't say that they did bad. I said JYPE as a whole, meaning everybody who tried, not just one group, didn't do so well this year compared to others. Maybe it's all of their other issues, I don't know. I only know what I see and it's been a relatively negative year for JYPE. As for your last sentence, I know why, but that's a whole different conversation.

    ReplyDelete
  40. You're trying to say that without JYP, Jay wouldn't be where he is today, right? Thing is, with his talent, Jay would have been picked up by whomever he auditioned for. JYP was just lucky.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I sympathise. Hey, you think JYP fans have it tough, try being a T-ara fan in this fuckin' place. Netizens lining up to take a shit on you just because IT'S TRENDY AND THEY WANT TO BE COOL LIKE THE KOREAN KIDS HERP DERP. Of course you and I will both get downvoted like crazy, consider it a sign you're doing something right.

    1. So far the comment with most substance... Its a fact. Be a k-netz or I-netz, every single users lyks to bash and follow the trend... I am a Queen's n i had "it" real hard...n...¤ROUGH¤... N I REALLY have sympathy for those famdom whose idols are in scandal lately or in 2012... Wait, if they ever had scandal I've sympathy for them n to state, there is no reason like if its okay for t-ara than it okay for others too(i really hate when ppl bash me for stating my opinions)... T-ara did wrong n I admit( attacking hw on twitter not the bullying) but the context of scandal was blown out of proportion. .. N till date, none of the celeb or idols had such harsh treatment through a scandal like T-ara when there were tons of worst scandals in the past... I really agree with you. On this site being Queen's is really hard. . Same goes to vips n hottest n Iu follower(I'm a Queen's nt vips or iu'S fan or anyth).. Man I have to state reason for my opinion when its from a Queen's...

  42. I acknowledged later on that Jay also had a solo concert and admitted my mistake that Jay's New Breed was released in 2012 and not 2011. The only point in me bringing up JYP Idols' activities this year was to show they are doing just as well as Jay and are not flopping like everyone around here seems to believe.

Besides, can you even read? All I said about 2pm was they were #1 in CFs and had Japanese activities that were successful. That isn't in the slightest bit inflating and I didn't even list anything LOL.

Yes, I am biased with JYP. However, I'm not going to be delusional and say 2012 was an AMAZING year for them, nor will I ever say that JYP idols are the best or most popular because fact is, they aren't. However, they are not flops, and I always acknowledge when a competing idol/solo artist is having great success. JYP idols are backed by a big 3 company, and that fact alone puts them at a higher advantage for success when compared to Jay. It's just a fact that JYP idols are doing just as well. It may seem like I was trying the downplay Jay's hard work and success, but it was only to prove my main point against haters. It was nothing to do in bringing down Jay. :D

    ReplyDelete
  43. haha, yet numbers are facts and sales and CF deals prove popularity.,. If you're gonna troll, at least make some sense because you're just embarrassing.

Adding color was a nice touch though *thumps up*

  45. Yeah that's why I've stayed away from commenting here so long... I just cracked yesterday and had to say something lol. Oops.

  46. I have NO idea what you mean about "selling well" in Japan, but 2PM's Japanese album was anything but that.

Maybe in comparison to Rainbow, SNSD, and 2NE1 they sold well... but by Japanese standards? LOL NO.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Maybe if you were polite and actually researched before you made your comment, people would take you seriously? I disregarded you at the first sentence, bb.

    ReplyDelete
  48. *sigh* Polite? Research? Have you seen the mindless hate that people throw around here when it comes to JYP? If I see an ignorant statement with no factual basis that was said just to take a dig, then I'll call it out. If someone says something rude (the original comment was rude to both Jay and JYP), then I'll be rude right back. :]

And it's ironic you tried to call me out on research when every single thing I stated in my first post was a fact that I can back up with Gaon Chart rankings, sales, and news articles. Nothing was exaggerated or inflated. If you want to talk research, call out the people that keep saying "so and so flopped" without any back up other than fellow netizen's opinions. NEXT.
