Actually, it was VIP's calling her ugly, repeatedly over and over and over, as you can see she didn't have plastic surgery when doing songs with GD&TOP but after, once VIPs started dogging her she changed her face up. If you want to blame anyone, blame VIPs for attacking her.

After those songs came out she got so much shit from VIPs and you start to see around 2008 and when she debuted she gradually looks different. So sure they might have called her ugly then, but VIP's had the most affect considering they gave her far more shit than any netizen did prior to debut.
