1. [+173, -56] What happened to Immortal Song???? I'm pretty sure the show was supposed to be about good singers, not singers that do dance performances...
2. [+113, -42] Honestly, the stage was pretty bad. There were a few other idols that came on the show but they weren't as bad as vocally as this.
3. [+111, -49] They su.cked. ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

Not the best, but I've definitely seen worse on IS2 and I enjoy their performance.
ReplyDeletelol
ReplyDeletereciting a poem with sound
ReplyDeleteNB, why there are a lot of negative miss A article T_T and why I never read negative article here for f(x), even once
ReplyDeleteif they are the worst that mean non of kpop groups can dance lol
ReplyDelete"What happened to Immortal Song???? I'm pretty sure the show was supposed to be about good singers" agree with that part. Why do they ivite idol groups to perform on the show? as far I know they have good rating they don't need to do that
ReplyDeletebooooriiiing. poor vocals, weak performance, rely mostly on sex appeal like usual idols. maybe better than other idols, but very very lacking compared to other singers here. they could let fei or min alone here, exploring on their own rather than rehearsing their group usual stuffs. it'd be much more tolerable to watch. oh well, we can always skip them anyway and watch the others (jung! dong! ha!). it's not like they're going to win if they stick with this kind of quality~
ReplyDeleteOK netizens. it wasn't a bad performance at all, actually it was pretty good. immortal song wasn't the place for it, but this hive-mind condemnation of a fun performance is ridiculous.
ReplyDeletemaybe because it was a show meant for idols...... First episodes were idols only. Also, for "serious" singing you can watch I am singer.
ReplyDeleteYeah, exactly, it was a good performance...but it wasn't a good vocal performance. Unfortunately, IS2 is supposed to be centered around vocals...
ReplyDeleteyou don't get it. The show is there to show that the "idol" singers can sing too but if they turn this show into an music show for idols nobody will take it seriously anymore like many other shows in Korea.
ReplyDeleteImmortal Song was created for idols who CAN sing—but don't get recognized nearly enough—to show off their vocals.
ReplyDeleteThink of who's been on the show: Yoseob, Hyorin, Changmin (2AM), Yesung, Jonghyun, Sunggyu, Sungmin, Kyuhyun, G.O, Jiyoon (4minute), etc.
Most of those are idols who don't have a ton of popularity (like the guys from Super Junior) or idols who are in groups that don't sing vocally challenging songs (Like G.O and Jiyoon).
I can't remember an instance where an ENTIRE group has been a guest on Immortal Song 2, though. But I suspect it's just JYP trying to get extra attention for miss A's new song since they're flopping hard.
I am a Singer is a show specifically designed for veteran singers that today's younger generation don't really know because the era of idols is in full force.
Ledapple, Teen Top and B1A4 have been on as full groups. Teen Top was actually even criticized by one of the more experienced singers. She took it back when they won a round but I think she was absolutely right in that the show was a serious singing show and that everyone, including the idol groups, should take it seriously.
DeleteIDEK why miss A was invited because no one in their group is particularly skilled at singing.
ReplyDeleteIt's obvious that with the right connections and a bit of money, anyone could perform on so-called "prestigious singing shows" like "Immortal Song 2" and "Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook."
ReplyDeletemiss A have been, for the most part, solid singers but none of their voices are outstanding and they sound out of breath when they do sing live so I think them being on IS2 was another indication of media play on JYP's part.
IS2 isn't centered around vocal. it's centered around performances as a whole, and vocal is a part of it. that's why people like jay park or jiyoon (4minute) can win. because despite their not so mind-blowing vocal techniques, they can pull out an impressive and strong stage. miss a? don't get me wrong, but they aren't on par with others here. maybe with other idols, but not here.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember an instance where an ENTIRE group has been a guest on Immortal Song 2. -- ulala session, sweet sorrow... hehe. maybe your statement is exclusively for idols.
ReplyDeletemiss A aint even relevant anymore
ReplyDelete"2. [+113, -42] Honestly, the stage was pretty bad. There were a few other idols that came on the show but they weren't as bad as vocally as this. "
ReplyDeleteExactly.
B1A4, Teen Top.. to name a couple
ReplyDeleteI agree with the first comment, what is happening to this show? I could understand them letting one member on there but why is the whole group performing? This show was supposed to parallel "I am a Singer" but it's slowly turning into something else.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone from JYP is going to be on Immortal Song 2 it should be 2AM or JOO.
ReplyDeletesigh...IS is not the same anymore...
ReplyDeleteNo, B1A4 only 3 of them attend, but it's more like Sandeul and the sidekick (as Baro and CNU only add some parts here and there) And Teen Top is only Niel, Changjo, Ricky or Cap (but it's the same, Niel is the main and the rest is only there for help/support).
ReplyDeleteSweet sorrow and Ulala session usually only come as trio too.. And the others who come with more than 3 or 4 members are usually a band (who play instruments).
Bless you for mentioning JOO.
ReplyDeletewhat I don't like about their performance is that they are trying too hard to push their sexy image, and completely unaware of the audiences who are mostly in their 30-50s who tries to remind/nostalgia with the song.
ReplyDeleteUsually there are only two kind of performance as always in Immortal Song, heart-breaking emotional ballads that brings you tears, or happy-upbeat-tempo track that moves the audience to sing along or even dance.
With this sexy performance, what do the audience get?
Visually and sexually appealing performance may be yes.
but does this performance move them to tears? No.
does this performance makes them dance/sing along? No.
I am really disappointed with this beyond words.
Idols or not is not the matter. IMO.
As long as they can give the best performance and /move/ the audiences, not only those men's eyebrows who gets high to f*ck
Jiyoon of 4minute has never won, at least not a main competition before they changed the layout. Just Saying
ReplyDeleteThis was a pretty bad performance. I usually like Miss A, but their vocals were too breathy for me, not enough good singing to mask an "ok" dance routine.
ReplyDeleteDid they even sing? lol
ReplyDeleteshe won with that collab with dj ko. yeah, not the main competition, but it's still a win.
ReplyDeleteChangmin was already on Immortal Song 2. He was one of the first contestants.
ReplyDeleteif they went back and did whatever they did during the bad girl good girl days they would be good.
ReplyDeleteI have been watching IS2 since the beginning, when they started with Hyorin, Changmin, G.O, Yoseob, IU, Hongki... And I am still watching it. I have discovered many great older songs and idols who can truly sing.
ReplyDeleteBut this article here talks about miss A on IS2. Should they have been on it? Yes. IS2 is also about giving these people the opportunity to showcase themselves, reinterpreting the songs.
Talking bout the 30-50s audience demographic, Jay Park flashed his abs, reinventing a song to his style and won. IS2 is about blending the classic and the young. Bringing these 2 elements together for nostalgic value (maybe), for entertainment (surely) and for enjoyment. What I like may not be your cup of tea (being right stuck up n english here) and what you favor might not be down my alley.
Give these idols a chance to showcase themselves and give yourself a chance to rediscover. If miss A was so bad, they won't be on IS2 again.
FT Island did
ReplyDeleteShe sings beautifully, her voice is really moving - she really should be on this show.
