ReplyDeleteNot gonna say anything about the actual content of that picture... But isn't it weird how IU deleted the tweet with the picture so quickly? If it really was just a picture of a hoobae and a sunbae, why delete it?
ReplyDeleteI think that's what lead to all the assumptions and such. That, and the fact that LOEN did such a crappy job of covering it up, and SME—still the most powerful entertainment company in Korea—didn't even bother to explain. They left it up to LOEN.
And it's already been cleared up that most people aren't disturbed by her having a relationship (of a sexual nature), but the fact that they're being taken for fools and being told such a flimsy explanation. All the fans really want is the truth, which, to a degree, they should have because they've supported IU all this time. If they were truthful from the start, the fans would've gladly defended her right to have sex/be visited while sick with whomever she wants.

you really believe that? i don't. you have to remember that what you read of netizen's reaction is just small portion of people who flock to these types of gossip articles. if anything a lot of it actually sounded like witch hunt with people speculating and saying that their speculation was the truth when in reality they had no basis to back it up. yet u saw those people at that site eat it up. it looked more like a feast for the antis/jealous/haters than anything else.
ReplyDeleteanyways, i think that people are forgetting that she left the picture up for 2 minutes. chances are that she did not realize how bad it would look to others but either she herself or someone else must have realized/pointed it out to her how it could be miscontrued so that's why it was erased. 2 minutes sound about right for something like that to happen.

No one want the truth. Even if the truth was that she didn't have sex and people could believe it, her image would still be ruined. And in the end her image is the only thing that mattered. People aren't fans of Ji Eun, people are fans of IU and what they /think/ IU is. No one knows Ji Eun and Ji Eun owes no one anything.

ReplyDeleteIU's scandal is not a sex scandal. People are calling it that because of their assumptions and, probably, as a reaction to LOEN's handling of the entire situation.
ReplyDeleteA picture of IU and Eunhyuk on Twitter does not, in any way, equal Baek Ji Young's SEX TAPE.
Baek Ji Young took some time off after the scandal; but the biggest issue (aside from the shock of there even being a tape to begin with because it was filmed without her knowledge) was that she was having sex with her manager. Celebrities having relationships with their managers **remember this was in 2000** opened a HUGE can of worms pertaining to corruption on a whole new level.
Baek Ji Young's manager used the secretly filmed sex tape against her and threatened to reveal it to the public when she told him she wanted to change managers.
It raised the question of whether or not people in power use their money to be "serviced" by actresses and singers. It put a spotlight on the fact that there ARE celebrities who trade sexual favors for better-produced songs or lead roles in dramas.
THAT was the big deal with Baek Ji Young. And really... her company did not try to cover it up with stupid excuses.
IU's twitter and LOEN's bullshitting is NOT AT ALL similar to Baek Ji Young being threatened with a sex tape she didn't know was being filmed by a manager she trusted.
Don't even go there, bruh. Don't.
Agree. When she made that statement about kissing and what not that was more than a year ago. Give it a few more months and it'll be 2 years. What these netizens are saying is that they expected her to remain unchanged in that time frame. Sorry buds but no one can pull that off unless they're dead.
