Block B on the chopping block once again

Fu*k my life.

Article: "She's really ugly"... Block B swept in controversy for making fun of girl group looks

Source: Mydaily via Nate [allkpop article here]

There are a lot of comments referring to 'stupid fangirls' because obviously since the article title/caps and content were taken out of context, fangirls were trying to explain what really happened to clear the misunderstanding, which netizens didn't care enough to read or lweoifu0943tu3209u30wjfFUCKFJEOIE4PO030298IALKEJEFOWPIWOLEIFJO.J.

I'm sure AKP will post it sooner or later but what went down was that the MTV PDs asked the boys the question, "Is there a girl group member that you can't recognized bare faced/without make up?" and Taeil said something that the editors bleeped out, making the viewers assume that he had actually answered with the name of a girl group. He also said, "She is really ugly" and that "She is a con". In the end, it was revealed that he was actually teasing the maknae MTV writer because he had seen her bare face while on an MT trip the previous week. You could hear the maknae writer laughing off camera.

Some netizen then just posted up these caps without any explanation and made it seem as if Taeil had really picked out a girl group member and was consequently bleeped out for it. Journalists took it out of context and ran with it, making a big enough deal where MTV PDs had to step in and write up a post explaining that the bleeps were meant as a joke and that it was their editing error that made it seem like that in the caps. Taeil was in fact just messing around with their maknae writer.

While I'm on the topic, I'd just like to add that Match Up is really a show you have to watch to understand the dynamics in the relationship between Block B and the PDs. They live to torture one another. That's how close they are and that's just how they express it. The MTV PDs absolutely adore Block B but they also adore making their lives hell as well (they purposely dedicated an episode to bungee jumping knowing that the maknae had previously chosen it as his greatest fear, as well as start off each and every episode promising not to protect their rights as idols). So was it wrong for Taeil to call someone ugly... yeah. But is it normal within the context of his relationship with the MTV PDs, also yeah... am I rambling because I'm upset... yeah........ life of a fangirl, yo..

1. [+1,196, -306] It's that $7 group. They haven't failed yet?

2. [+1,027, -267] Wow, look at all these stupid fangirls

3. [+951, -259] Stupid fangirls ㅋㅋㅋ

4. [+273, -57] These guys are no good. Their mouths are trash and their brains are filled with sh*t. Shame the country, shame their parents...

5. [+241, -54] Aigoo look at all these stupid fangirls ㅋㅋ If Taeil was really referring to the maknae writer, the PDs would've released the original recording without the bleep censors ㅋㅋㅋ The only solution to this group is disbandment. Fuc* off Downfall B.

6. [+219, -54] Are they the next T-ara?

7. [+201, -52] tsk tsk delinquent group. Thought they woke up a bit after their Thai scandal ㅋㅋ Don't they know that they're just as ugly themselves considering they're idols? And that Zico kid or whatever, he's so cocky because he thinks he's hip hop and he's worth something.

8. [+183, -53] Amazing Block B's stupid fangirls... So scary..

9. [+170, -41] These delinquents are still promoting?

10. [+148, -43] What I'm definitely sure of is that their stupid fangirls top in the most useless category ㅋㅋㅋ

Oh, well then there's no issue here. I was ready to scrutinize them as a fan because I want them to stay out of trouble. But if they're cool enough with the staff to joke like this then it should be fine. Sucks that it got taken out of context though.

  2. Today is a pretty busy day huh~~ •___•
Anyway even if it's a misunderstanding, it doesn't really matter because people already have negative opinions due to the Thailand thing....which was a misunderstanding too
    Just keep promoting Block B~

  3. Korean netizens annoy me so freaking much!! Aggghhh ah. We'lll make it through

    ReplyDelete
  4. I'm not a normally violent person but can the journalist who wrote this as well as the netizen who posted this without caps be, like, shot with a BB gun?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Honestly, it doesn't matter if they were talking about a girl group member or a staff or whoever it was. They were being filmed and shoul've known this could happen.

    ReplyDelete
  6. What the? If they bleeped out whoever TaeIl was talking about (regardless of whether it was another idol or just a Match Up staff member) then what's the problem? Things are obviously bleeped out for a reason.

And yeah I've been watching Match Up since season 1 and everything NB said about the MTV staff being very close to Block B is legit. People are just trying to hate for no reason.

    ReplyDelete
  7. fans live a hard life, huh? management companies always come up with shitty response, fans always feel the need to cover it. anyway..... where is the article about mtv pd's post? can't wait to see how netizens will react to it lol

  8. oh my god use the edit button... you're using disqus now...

  9. I can't even. I understand that you're pissed, if it were to happen to my fav group, I would probably be very pissed myself.

I can understand when K-netizens hate on GD because of his scandal since there's actually an issue (but I still don't condone it, because it's still gratuitous hate) but here... this is just utterly stupid -__- nothing happened but they still hate on Block B just because they're idols, right? It's almost like discrimination. K-netizens are such intolerant people, honestly...

    ReplyDelete
  10. Did you not read the entire explanation? MTV edited/bleeped it out in a way for it to happen. Are you trying to tell me that MTV didn't have a choice to exclude the clip altogether? This isn't a live broadcasting.

    1. I haven't watched variety shows in a while, but I know that in general when a non-celeb doesn't want their real name exposed they'll beep it out on tv or use an alias.

      Delete
  14. Maybe Block B should've been a little more careful (and for MTV to not have asked such a leading question)... but this really is just another case of the K-netizens drunk on haterade, again. They'll hate on you the moment you do something wrong and they'll make sure that you'll never live it down.

    ReplyDelete
  15. They need to be more careful.

    ReplyDelete
  16. haiz...another media misrepresentation...like how do these reporters even pick up on these things? Comb through 50 min of a variety show just to pick up on a few seconds of talk segment that could potentially be turned into smth inappropriate? And people on AKP forums are already shitting on this group based on the enews report while fans are bringing out the 'we all make mistakes' argument when no one even knows anything lol. I've seen forums/comment sections on this group and the way people grasp at straws trying to find anything potentially news-worthy to bash about is just laughable.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I wonder if these "netizens" or "reporters" are paid by LOEN and SM to hype this up so that the whole IU/Eunhyuk issue dies down a bit... or even KKS so that T-error can make a comeback... it's just ridiculous... did they really mention the person's name? NO.... so get over it. They never have that angel/innocent image anyway, so why so serious???????????

  19. Korean journalists, what to do with you... Really, I can't believe they still have a job. Making these kind of things... Giving wrong infos, making such big thing of something that was clearly posted by haters to destroy Block B's image.
I can perfectly understand why knetizens are the way they are. The journalists keep feeding those little monsters... pff

    ReplyDelete
  20. They will probably hate more or say some shit. Or they won't ever read...

    ReplyDelete
  21. In the context of the show it was basically block b fooling around with the writers/pds and vice versa. I think the editors should not have bleeped out taeil's reply, cuz people would think he's actually answering the initial question posted by mentioning a girl group member. But then to protect the privacy of the staff they had to, so its really quite a dilemma.

    ReplyDelete
  22. NB is this the only article written on this or are their others?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Since netizens think they are actually talking about a girl group member, I think netizens see the problem as TaeIl being rude/disrespectful to say that about a girl group member...

You know them netizens, always hating on Block B :(

    ReplyDelete
  24. I don't get it on comedic shows they call some people fat, old or ugly all the time and I don't see so much hate. Taeil was teasing the pd.

I mean Jiyo is always teasing and calling Gary ugly, but does people hate on her? No. They just laugh. The same when Suju fans says ''xxx member is the ugliest'' they are picking at each other and people laugh at it, no hate.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Pretty sure this isn't big enough a deal to keep the IU/Eunhyuk issue lower though

    ReplyDelete
  26. K Netizens are so hypocritical and stupid. I just don't understand. They're never satisfied. Like what????

    ReplyDelete
  27. Himchan call's his sister fat oppa didn't mean it. Suju calls Suzy fat oppa didn't mean it. Block B jokes around with a pd Oppa meant it.

    ReplyDelete
  28. funny because netizens they call girls members ugly all the time too, but they think they have this right because they aren't idols.

    ReplyDelete
  29. This is one of those moments that make me wish that I really had a death note. FML

    ReplyDelete
  30. oh yea, how come nothing was said about himchan's comment? that seemed more of an issue to me:/

    ReplyDelete
  31. Yup, haters gon hate. smh

    ReplyDelete
  32. Definitely. These damn double standards

    ReplyDelete
  33. What I mean is they need to watch out. Because now everything they say could be used against them.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Just disband and fuck off. Group of deliquents...

    ReplyDelete
  35. hmm the good news is that IU totally overshadows this..

    ReplyDelete
  36. I don't think it truly matters because there's nothing they can really do. Even if they don't do absolutely nothing, they still get bashed.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Honestly even if Block B were to help poor children for a year, people would still bash them saying shit like they didn't help enough of something............. these fucked up double standards man....

    ReplyDelete
  38. But netizens call idols ugly EVERY DAMN DAY! Wow. Smh.

About Loen and Sm being involved to cover up for IU/Eunhyuk, just visit AKP. Even when Psy made History with Gangnam style, shares for his post was about 6K but for this scandal it's exactly 16639 now!! The gravity and magnitude of this scandal is so big that next scandal cant cover it up unless it's a sex tape or murder scandal.. So TRY AGAIN next time and dont make up story on your own

    ReplyDelete
  45. you are all over the place... criticizing I-fans every single time you get chance!! By any means, are you the same aaa who used to hate I-fans every time???

    ReplyDelete
  46. Other fandom will gradually feel the same what we had and they will be sorry ! What comes around goes around!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Damn it, Jiyeon and T-ara are being mentioned in Block B and Iu's articles...

    ReplyDelete
  48. They should just bann these disrespectful assholes from all TV/radio shows. They are a shame for K-pop and Korea.
All of them should shave their hair and enlist in the army.
There are many more talented and better mannered idols around.
Why should we have to out up with this shit thst Flop B does?
And the BBC's that are protecting them are retarded.

    ReplyDelete
  49. When Block B first came out, I saw an interview from them. I knew right off the back they might face some problems like this because they tend to joke around a lot.

This is positive in that the guys seem like genuine kids just fooling around and having fun. But a lot of stuff can be taken out of context.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Netizenbuzz, now you know how T-ara fans have felt ever since July. Both them and Block B are victims of exactly the same type of bullshit.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Me? You can say SOME International fans are hypocrite, but I don't got calling others ugly ... you don't even know me, so please don't act like you do. You even called me dumb, can't be polite? Oh wait, I saw you hating on AKP before, please go back to there.

    ReplyDelete
  52. maybe she is one Knetizens who bash idols too so she is talking about Inetizens lol

    ReplyDelete
  53. yeah.. i too think so

    ReplyDelete
  54. So BBCs , you stan the wrong dudes perhaps?

If the PD was telling the truth, well he should have released the raw footage of the clip then. To shut Knetizens mouths, otherwise, Block B will always deemed to that bad attitude.

Like idols like fans, no wonder why many BBCs are so damn good at putting their feets into their mouths. lol

    ReplyDelete
  55. your bias is showing =P (btw enewsworld has an article translated, maybe you could start linking to their articles.)

for some reasons netizens can't fathom a 'flawed' person, someone who's not like yoo jaesuk. they expect you to do everything perfect. you are hated eternally once you make one misstep. they are such bitches whining over the internet.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I don't think she's trying to hide anything anyway. Besides, who could actually be completely neutral?

    ReplyDelete
  57. There's no point reasoning about this tbh. Attempts to clarify the situation will just be labelled as stupid fangirl comments. They just really love bringing Block B down. It's gonna be a hard road for them.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Whats this Shit!?
They are worth something all this Haters & Antis YOUR NOT SOMET HING BETTER THEN THEM! everyone of you though about some other idol is ugly.
If you tell someone he isn't worth something YOU'RE NEITHETHEN!
    cuz youre not better!!
Just leave them alone if you don't like them fine!
Then JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP!
none of you ever said something when lee Hongki twitters something like fuck you.
But when block B says something you all start to talk random shit no one wants to know!! so SERIOUSLY!!
    JUST SHUT UP AND LEAVE!!
Shame on ur Parents for having Kids with such Ugly hearts!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. it seems more like the international fandom had an issue with it more than the korean fandom, which is probably why not much was said about it on the korean end.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Um, I don't think Hongki said that. A fan asked Hongki to f__k her, but Hongki jokingly declined her request :P

But yeah, everything else you said is true. Haters are ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  61. It's not Suju, it's Leeteuk, and you don't know what you're talking about because he was very criticized after this. Anyway it's not the same situation here because netizens can't forgive them their Thailand incident. This isn't fair, that's true, but stop making as if only Block B was criticized in Korea.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Why is that article still up if it's completely false though? I demand that this journalist apologize and then have his/her degree revoked.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I'm not a Block B fan, but their fans should ignore this. This is typical netizen band wagon hate. Block B had a pretty good comeback recently and I don't think this minor issue will affect them too much.

All of these recent scandals really makes me think that korean entertainment agencies ought to rethink their marketing of "idols". No one can actually live up to a perfect image.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I'm surprised so many S.K journalist have degrees in the first place :P

    ReplyDelete
  65. thus the =P i was only poking fun at her for the long explanation.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Idk if you read why the netizens are angry, but it's because the netizens don't know or care for the context that TaeIl said that in. They didn't know that Block B was just teasing the maknae writer. So they found it rude that they would say that about a girl group member that wasn't on the show.

    ReplyDelete
  67. "And that Zico kid or whatever, he's so cocky because he thinks he's hip hop and he's worth something. "

this! i can't stand the idols rap/ hip hop thing!

    ReplyDelete
  68. calling your sister fat is scandalous now ? you don't have any sibling I guess, you don't know how it works...

    ReplyDelete
  69. But that just makes the netizens stupid for drawing conclusions from SCREENSHOTS and pretty much relying on a shady journalist and an anonymous netizen (wouldn't be surprised if he/she was an anti) who couldn't be bothered to provide an explanation..

Instead of blindly assuming that they screwed up again, they should've sought to analyze it for what it was and be rational about it all. At the same time though I think this article just made antis and haters crawl out of the woodwork. I doubt they even read the follow up article clarifying the issue anyways.

    ReplyDelete
  70. BUT the ones that destroyed & made T-ARA receive more hate was thanks to their own management. Queens and non-queens tried to clear things up at first...but no. The management had to destroy their image even more. I'm neutral with T-ARA. Obviously I don't anti them, even if it's true what they did...heck, everyone makes mistakes, no? They learn from them. Peace (:

    ReplyDelete
  71. I notice that you have a particularly strong dislike for I-netizens. Just because I-fans point out something that K-netizens do, don't make their points any less valid. So what if both sides do it? There's no problem with calling another side out when it calls for it.

    ReplyDelete
  72. lol Zico was a rapper much before being an idol.

    ReplyDelete
  73. yes, siblings/friends can tease u about your looks and that's normal but his comment was a pretty serious one; not acknowledging your sibling altogether because of looks is really not ok. I know he was overweight too and wanted to 'encourage' his sis to slim down for health/ image reasons but that's not the way to do it; its unhealthy to put this kind of pressure on others. It's part of a bigger societal problem, yes, and im sure some korean/asian parents criticize their kids on their looks as well, but then taking it to the point of potentially not acknowledging your relationship is just too much. People shouldn't blow this issue up but he at least deserves some side-eyeing/ criticism; i think that's fair.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Yes, I know that netizens are just blindly making conclusions because it's Block B. But the comment I replied to is saying that they don't understand why netizens are hating on Block B for making fun of the maknae writer. I replied to the comment to clarify Block B is not being hated for the real situation since the netizens are not willing to spend time to figure out the real context of the show.

    ReplyDelete
  75. please. i am beginning to accept that type of behavior from them and a lot of the immature fans also. they don't seem to know how to use the brains that god gave them and actually reason things out. or maybe it's just the antis that pouncing

    ReplyDelete
  76. I'd like to believe their antis...or just depressed netizens with nothing to do and no accomplishments in their lives.

    ReplyDelete
  77. It's either antis or just people who can't get a clue.

Block B have said like a million times that they're not here to be sweet, innocent idols who are just pretending to be perfect to gain people's approval.

People keep on trying to break them/force them to conform, even though they could just ignore Block B and start using their time and energy for something more constructive. Oh well, I guess these antis don't "know how to use the brains that god gave them" :P

    ReplyDelete
  78. who are you???..show yourself so we i-netizen can all come together and give you that whooping that you are craving for

    ReplyDelete
  79. I actually feel bad for them this time..It seems whatever they do good or bad, they'll always be hated on..sad...
But I also have to agree that Zico is indeed cocky, and one of the rappers who can actually rap, not like some idols...

    ReplyDelete
  80. Wow. How can they hate on someone by showing their stupidity and ignorance?

    ReplyDelete
