Girl's Day's Jihae departs from the group

Article: Girl's Day's Jihae departs from group... "Focus on school"

Source: Starin via Nate

1. [+231, -34] So were the bullying rumors true then??

2. [+159, -10] Whenever someone leaves a girl group, I can't help but be suspicious of whether everything in the article is true ㅠ

3. [+132, -30] Whenever someone leaves a girl group, that group is treated the same as T-ara ㅋㅋㅋㅋ How can anyone choose their educational path without being afraid of netizens ㅋㅋㅋ

4. [+38, -9] You can already tell what the truth is from her tweets ㅋㅋ 100% bullying, her education is just an excuse

5. [+30, -6] Her tweets can tell you that there's discord in the group. I don't know if she's the victim or not but it's obvious that she's not leaving the group for normal reasons.

Article: Girl's Day's Jihae confesses her true feelings "Her time off from school has expired, decided to study"

Source: Newsen via Nate

1. [+175, -9] She probably didn't see a future for the group. If girl groups can't make a big impression the minute they debut, it doesn't matter how many good songs they come out with after because they're just always going to be remembered as B-list or lower. Groups disappear so often because of that. And more importantly, the name of your company plays a big role.

2. [+151, -3] So you're just going back to school.

3. [+139, -12] Honestly, I only know who Minah is in Girl's Day

4. [+32, -4] It's a good decision for her to make. It's been a while since Girl's Day has debuted but they're still nugu status and people only know that girl that tries really hard to look cute Minah?? The other members are like wallpaper. It'd be better for her to just leave a group that's on the verge of failing and do try another dream.

5. [+27, -2] Rainbow 2009, Girl's Day 2010, A Pink 2011... their debut dates are different but their concepts are all the same to me

  1. Focus on study «= lame excuse
I bet she's got kicked from the company or bullying victim...

  2. good decision..better go study

  3. Good for her if she really wants to focus on studying, being an idol can only take you so far and like the comments mentioned if you don't have that one hit wonder then you'll eventually fade.
I really hope that no bullying was going on but I don't follow them so.....

  4. Netiznes and their pathetic obsession with bullying - it's only because half of THEM act like tough keyboard warriors but in real life are getting their lunch money stolen in the hallways. So she wants to go study and take care of her future instead of be in a C-list group, good on her, it's the smart choice.

  5. anyone know about her TWEET

  6. "3. [+139, -12] Honestly, I only know who Minah is in Girl's Day" THIS. >.<
Well it's hard for a girl group to be popular... it's kinda sad seeing how they've debut for so long and yet still a nugu group... miss A and Sistar that debut the same year as Girl's Day are quite lucky... SISTAR with the non-stop promotion and Miss A with Suzy that keep promoting... though it's always suzy, at least she keeps her group name alive or something.

"5. [+27, -2] Rainbow 2009, Girl's Day 2010, A Pink 2011... their debut dates are different but their concepts are all the same to me" kinda agree with this but for me, dal shabet also come to my mind... luckily APink got some attention with Eunji's acting but they as a whole group need to work really hard...

then again, girl groups always have the hardest than the boy group... /thesadtruth

  7. Is there anything indicative in her tweets? I always saw her as a strong personality that would be hard to be bullied. Although I could see her not fitting in with their cutesy style.

  8. Rainbow is nothing like Girl's Day or Apink.

  9. I agree on number 1 comment. debuting girl groups is the hardest than boy groups since girl groups can easily hate on bcoz there are more fangirls than fangirls~~ fangirls prefer to waste their time to their Oppas rather than their unnies lol

and like comment no.3, i only know Minah coz I heard or read tweets from people that they dont like her coz she's annoying or her aegyo is annoying XD lol

  10. Haha K netizens use nugu the same way I fans do (nugu status). Found that funny cos I thought in Korean it wouldn't make much sense 'who-status'. Anyways This is worrying, i actually like Girls Day but their last song was awful! They had rumors of bullying amoungst the group and honestly, her leaving makes it look like its true.

  11. but girl groups sales (digital) is apparently better than boy group? girl groups target ahjussi too, you know...

    ReplyDelete

    1. It's because girl groups tend to be easily accepted by general public so their digital is better while boy groups rely on dedicated fangirls that tend to buy their physical sales more

  12. LMFAO! Even K-netizens think Minah is annoying as fuck.

  13. its good she is focusing on her education and not fame. i admire people like that.

  14. Education is dead. Better recognize your own talents.

  15. "They had rumors of bullying amoungst the group and honestly, her leaving makes it look like its true."

No, it wasn't Girl's Day. The rumors of a rookie group bullying came just before 2 members left Girl's Day so people associate it with Girl's Day without any proof. That rumor was proved to be another group but most people still don't know and associate with Girl's Day. Girl's Day didn't have bullying in their group =__= BTW Jihae is closer to the 2 past members than her group, maybe that's why she decided to leave, because she's not interested in being in the group anymore, that's it. Too bad because I liked her. I also liked the 2 former members. Oh well, I wonder if Girl's Day will stay as 4 members?

  17. i thought the have to fulfill their contract coz if not they'll be sued.is that so easy to get out in an ent.agency?how did she pay her debt like training, etc?

  18. How on earth does Rainbow's concept being similar to Girl's Day and A-Pink? O____o
Girl's Day and A-Pink has a bit similarity yeah, they both have the cute concept though Girl's day is more like cheerful and bubbly while A-Pink is more like fairies. But Rainbow has always come out with a sexy, flirty concept. How is that the same for k-netizens O___o

  19. I swear I'd rather she focuses on studying than keep struggling to be a renowned idol. Good for Jihae!

  21. And the girl decided to do a new face makeover as a celebration for breaking off free from a lucky unfortunate dead-end (her shit group)

  22. Just because she didn't pretend to be all chummy-chummy all the time with her bandmates doesn't mean she was bullied. I'm a musician and I don't get along with some of my bandmates, I spend time with others whenever I can. I'm not a bully or a bully victim though, we're just not BBFs that's all. Netizens only see things in black and white. If you're not all "oh I'm delighted to spend every minute of my existence with all my band chums" they're instantly like "must be bullying". They made this mistake with T-ara too. With the way k-pop groups are managed on the absolute shortest leash you can possibly imagine, bullying in the schoolyard sense is an impossibility anyway, even poor management would be kicking their ass into shape at lightning speed, they're not about to let some schoolyard shit cost them money. The real story of Girl's Day is that Jihae realises her group is not going anywhere (they're not that popular in Korea, a serious D-list group) and that study is the better bet for her long term future. Sorry but that's all it is. As for T-ara, Hwayoung had been acting up for months, this is not acceptable in the rigid world of idol groups, KKS had warned her months before that he would remove her if she continued, so when she acted up again, he came good on his promise. Many k-pop scandals are true, especially the sex/drugs ones, but I can give you expert qualified advice that ANY bullying scandal in k-pop is always going to be bullshit. No exceptions.

    1. http://forums.allkpop.com/threads/the-real-reason-behind-5dolls-soomi-departure.8188/

Actually the stories about 5dolls bullying issue might be true. I think this is what the netizens are talking about. They just mixed up the groups because most don't really care or know much about the new idols

Just because it didn't happen to your group doesn't mean it's the same for every group. These girls are young, have to live together, hang out 24/7, certain members might be more popular and cause jealousy, or they just have different personalities that clash. It's a fact bullying/wangtta is an issue in Korea that cause many suicides among students. Wangtta isn't as obvious as western definition of bullying but it's still passive way of making people feel like shit.

Anyway not saying bullying happened with Hwayoung but a teen girl tossing out cuss words in casual convos isn't what I consider trouble maker unless there is a video of her actually saying Fuck you to a staff

  23. She's a really good dancer but it's not something special.
The idols' fad is almost over if it's not over already anyways.

  24. everyone now is damn scared to admit bully after T-ara incident. jihae had compensation to keep her mouth shut.

once revealed as bully incident, your reputation is gone like T-ara
other member threaten jihae if she dare to speak. it's stupid to think her news and reason to public is real.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Except the bullying in T-ara never happened. And they're selling as high as ever on the back of all the extra free publicity. They literally apologised all the way to the bank. So there goes that theory.

  26. @ specky302
Stay pressed. miss A won a daesang for Bad Girl, Good Girl before Suzy got so popular.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh cool. Maybe the 10 fans they have are grieving over this but they gotta prepare themselves for the worst, that is them disbanding sooner or later cause no tucks were given fail careers.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Even with bully, girls day is okay. See T-ara? People outside korea love them.

Overseas people doesn't care how evil they are as long they are pretty.

    ReplyDelete
  29. well its almost been a year and I don't think Bullying was the issue. I think if anything Jihae was bored, Maybe wanted a relationship/marriage? She was 2nd leader and the most mature in the group. I don't see her as being a victim, she seems more assertive than that. As for Girls Day as a Kpop group in general? well they have risen to a #1 status and the comments of them being a D level group?(someone is full of ***t!) they have risen to A list for sure!! now with Yura, Hyeri, and Minah acting and hosting and Sojin collaborating with other kpop projects. This increases their credibility in the kpop world. Haters will hate and that's the way it is!

  30. Well, I do not believe the bullying rumors are true. NEVER suspect bullying if there is no PROOF , do you know them? Are you a close friend of theirs?Just being a hardcore fan isn't enough to know what they are going through , you are not them , you DON'T KNOW what's ACTUALLY going on , rumors are just rumors , you don't know if its true or not , So , unless you are a friend / family of theirs who knows what's going on don't go to places and say 'Bully's Day'. By the way , EVERYBODY has an unique personality , Although I do not know them and is do not follow them as much , but I see from other comments , she was one of the mature members , although I have no right to say this , but I do not think they would bully her.

  31. you've got the wrong idea there.... that's only in korea. i dunno why people overseas still like them (not in any of the western countries but i guess japan and stuff), but it's not for the reason u think. korea cares so much about people's appearances that even if someone had a tonne of talent but was "ugly", they wouldn't be able to become as famous or successful as an untalented pretty girl.

    ReplyDelete
  32. nah girls' day never had any bullying issues. none of the girls are like that. they were all real tight but it's quite obvious that jihae left for financial issues? i guess. or worried for her future cause girls' day wasn't that popular even after over 2 years of debuting. but they are now becoming more and more popular so jihae might have made a mistake... but, whatever. :P i don't mind her leaving cause the other 4 were my favourites hehe. but one thing for sure- NO BULLYING HAD OCCURRED WITHIN GIRLS DAY. that's just a random suggestion-turned-rumour built up amongst fans and randoms koreans alike lol

  33. Fast forward to 2014/2015:
A whole different story. Girl's Day is now one of the top girl groups..... wow. I wonder if Jihae regrets this.....
