[LOL] Inha University students play on T-ara's controversy

Netizens recently spotted a banner at Inha University congratulating their graduates at some achievements won like a current events competition.

On the side of the banner, they included (rather unflattering) photos of Eunjung and Jiyeon along with the message, "The ability to graduate and find a job is a difference in determination."

  16. Looks like attention-whoring promo for the Uni group to me. Nothing more or less. If the T-ara issue never happened the banner would probably show Nickhun driving off a cliff with a bottle in his hand or something.

yet the one that you worship or obsessed with are KOREAN themselves and if not because of these korean people or society that like them first, make them on top in their country, you dont even know these girls... they made them on top, and they felt betrayed by them... you're not in their shoes how you can understand? culture, society... no matter how you criticized them, this are the people that make the KPOP things that you love now, as big as it is right now. they're the first before you. i said this to myself too because after all, i'm just an intl fans like most people that read this blog... it's their country entertainment biz first before it become so known worldwide... generalize is not good...

  29. Aww...I don't get why people hold it against queens. It take alot of DETERMINATION to continue support a sinking ship like T-ara :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. The word determination (when used in kpop things) is forever ruined for me, because I will always think it's some sort of jab at T-ara. But this is hilarious, lbr. International fandom, stay pressed

    ReplyDelete
  31. "K-pop will die soon"
LMAO, it's not because you're tired of your fandom that everyone is. Maybe K-pop will eventually die internationally, but Korean music industry can't disappear of their country just because you decided it's boring or because you hate their culture.
I've been a fan of K-pop for almost 5 years and I'm not quitting anytime soon.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I've seen worse photos of Jiyeon, Eunjung and Hyomin at ALLKPOP XD

    ReplyDelete
  33. "K-pop will die soon".LOL
eventually it will die internationally(meaning international fans will abandon kpop) so that leaves only the k-fandoms who will support the idols groups.it seems that international fans are trying to dictate what should knetizens do/act,say or feel when in reverse knetizens are not even dictating international fans.it's knetizens right to express what they feel.

  34. You see even people at university does bully.

That is why korea have such high rate of suicides and a lot of bullying, because they do it all the time, they say they are against it but do it...

see the banned laughing at 2 people, how good person they are for making such a banner.

I guess they really have nothing better to do than bully others. their lifes must be boring and they want to feel superior than others.

    How great.

Then again, this is not everyone. I'm not generalizing, but talking about these people who do these things.

  40. people here said that we should respect Kpop because we are fans of Kpop!! Those who doesnt even respect their own people says that to inter-nation fans!! And if you think inter-national fans dont bear right to speak into your country's matter and k-peoples are the ones who made them popular then dont hold inter-national tours, concerts!! Why send your artists and idols to our country and perform here??? Just as much as you are responsible for their popularity so we are!! How much of you artists and idols perform only in Korea but not abroad??? None... as soon as they rise to certain popularity they visit Japan, USA, Malaysia, Vietnam, HK, China and other countries!!! Do you think album sales, concerts and doing some variety shows and dramas with in your country can feed all those artists and idols??? In this case, T-ara International fans are not delusional but all those people who hates idols of their own country!! Why do you think Korea is so much in trend these days??? Because we, international people like Korea itself or is it because the idols we love and cherish are Koreans and live in Korea??? if idols we love and care arent performing anymore then why to watch Korean dramas, listen to kpop and watch k-variety shows???? Think properly K-netizens!! These idols are the ones who brought light to your country!! Samsung and Lg electronics, why are they running in market??? Because they are good??? I-phone and Nokia are more reliable and original.. but still we prefer Samsung and Lg because it's endorsed by Idols we Love... Idols are the one who brought money to your country!! that money which you use to buy meal 3 times a day!! Without idols, your country's Per Ca-pita Income will fall to half!! Rather then RESPECTING such people look what you fools are doing!! if you, Koreans are so proud of yourselves and even say that we, International fans are speaking ill about your country then for the shake of your Pride dont send them abroad to hold concerts and Int'll tours.. got that!!! You are idiots, immature, irrational, shameless, thick-skinned people who are kicking those idols who bring International money to your country!! When blinded by hatred, people are never logical which exactly suits to K-netizens esp. Per-matured teens who dont know that they are kicking money machines that brings money to their country which feed them!! Poor T-ara and all idols of Korea!! K-netizens do this every now and then to all idols if not their fav!!! All will alwayz favor Kpop but for once Plz let Kpop to die then this K-netizens and per-matured teens will understand what aid has idols provided to them and their country!!... Hwaiting T-ara!! Be strong girls!!

  41. My own personal opinion... I find this inappropriate... I dont care about the controversy... You see universities are suppose to teach young women and men how to be civilize in all aspects and i do believe that posting this kind of things reflects how and what the university teach their student... Universities are suppose to encourage children in a very civilize way not in where they are going to mock other people... Whether you like the actress or not i do think that universities should stay neutral... In the first place it is not even their bussiness...

    ReplyDelete
  42. ^ well said.

while it's witty and funny, how an university student address this issue didn't amuse me. aren't you guys university students should take up on much more important issue? or you're not allowed to speak up about that? which explains a lot why these witty netizens ended up entangle in issues as trivial as kpop idols. if the banner is about kks, i'd tolerate it a bit though it's still a distasteful move. but to attack these girls? so immature. this is like something made by junior high school girls.

    ReplyDelete
  43. ^^
LOL @ universities teaching civility. Universities aren't monasteries. How many people here have actually attended university? If you've actually attended one, then you'll know that freedom of expression thrives at most universities around the world and you'll see student groups doing smartass stuff like this all the time.

Let me ask you this, do you get this worked up when people make jokes at the expense of a local politician or professional athlete? Yeah, probably not. Perspective, people...perspective.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm a college/uni student so seriously I don't get wtf is people here talking about students being mature. There's always prankster at the universities that joke around and do things like this. Do they actually think every students that go to college and uni are like freaking model citizens or something? :|

Beside since we don't know who did this, it's possible it's just a SMALL group of people that joked around. They just graduated, they wanted to blow some steams before they get stressful jobs, and do stuffs like this to get a little attention too.

  45. @Anonymous who said people at university bully
(this site won't let me reply i don't know why)
They wrote "아싸없는 ~배움터" [trans: our club doesn't have outsiders/outcasts] at the bottom of the banner

    ReplyDelete
  46. ^^LOL.probably middle schoolers.
most of the activists who goes on street protest are uni students.

    ReplyDelete
  47. It is true that freedom expression is very important in a university as I have been in one... and for people who are saying that universities are not monasteries, I aggree with that as well... but I do believe that it is the duty of the school (universities included) to guide their students and teach them... Isnt it that is the reason why student studies?

Also whether or not it is the students work... it will and will always reflect the university... just think about it, if somebody top notch a board exam and that person is from that certain university isnt it that university is very proud about it... the same goes here... its up to the people how are they going to perceive this things... whether they think it is appropriate or not... but one thing... Ive been into a lot of schools, universities and colleges and I'm glad to say I haven't seen any kind of banner, posters, pamphlets or any kind of brochures that mocked somebody...

  49. Bullying is such a cultural part of Korea that Koreans can't help themselves, can they.

    ReplyDelete
  50. LOL'ing at the kids here saying that Uni should be teaching "civility" or with the speech on how they should act.

I bet you guys writing that aren't even in college, if you would you wouldn't have that sort of naive mentality.

    ReplyDelete
  51. What a shame,I just lost my respect for that uni.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Okay Okay, it seems like a lot of people here have never been to college. Even Ivy league schools pull out pranks most of the time because College is the one time in your life you are not that heavily monitored as well as you are still young and silly and can use that card to justify your nonsensical actions.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Why are people here saying don't judge Koreans? I've heard so so many Koreans putting whole groups of people in one bag and saying stupid ignorant stereotypical things. I find it so pathetic when some people think Koreans are some kind of gods. If you think this way, then you are a sad loser.

    ReplyDelete

LOL @ the stupid ignorant stereotypical statement about people making stupid ignorant stereotypical statements.

LOL @ making anti-Korean comments on a website about Korean pop culture.

Thanks for the comment...I had a good laugh over it!

  55. i already said what is my views about this thing... and I do believe that everybody have their own values about certain things... so for me what they did is inappropriate as I as a person do not need to be too harsh about certain things especially that the pictures that is on the banner are not even connected nor related to the school itself especially i dont even know them and didnt even study to that school...

And for people who think I am not studying or didnt even go to school specifically a university... I must say I did go to a university... and that certain university taught me about fairness, equality and respect for each other.

I believe with the balance of things and I am happy that in my country... it is being followed... i dont for other... education is education... entertainment world is the entertainment world and for me should never be mixed as it is two different thing. I am not saying it must never be I am just saying that it "should" never be mixed (must and should are two different things).

    ReplyDelete
  56. Just because your culture/society in school taught you values and virtues. Don't expect all schools to be taught and to practice the same values and virtues as well. You are miniaturizing the problem that is the american mindset

Even though we have freedom of speech, please think first before you speak because you can hurt someone with that. We have limitations,please...please know your limitations. Every people have a feeling, every people can be hurt. Stop this immature thing,if you don't like T ara....just shut your mouth. Stop bashing them, just stop it. T ARA FIGHTING! I LOVE T ARA! <3

  63. Kpop is dead. Majority of them will eat street dogs soon

  64. I am not expecting people to have the same values as me nor expecting for people to have the same perspective as mine. Everything that I just said are my own personal opinions and how I view things about education and entertainment world. Just like what I said, for me education and entertainment are two different things and shouldn't be mixed up. If people think that education and entertainment world are suppose to be mixed up then it is up to them, as it is their values and beliefs about that certain topic. I am not imposing my values and beliefs here but I think that it is also fine for me to state my own opinion here so that other will know that there are people who think that way... just like how I learned that there are people who think that what they did is just fine. I respect your opinion as i hope you will respect mine as well.

In the end done is done, everything is in the past... and what they did is all done... so it is just either how people will think about it, whether it is right or wrong... as for me my own values and beliefs are still what I am standing for "entertainment is entertainment", "education is education", these are two different things.
