[+74, -3] It was promoted like it'd be this huge theatrical masterpiece which is probably what drew people in in the beginning but the actual reviews since haven't been so good...
[+59, -4] The overall movie is too dark, could barely tell who was speaking most of the time. I dozed through most of it, and others who saw it called it boring too...
[+6, -0] Can't just make movies anymore trusting purely for the actor to pull through or Korean pride to pull through. There are cases where those can be the sole reason for success but Koreans are ultimately selective in the end and a movie with those elements still needs to be good at the end of the day.
[+6, -0] That horseriding scene in the desert was needlessly long and made me sleepy
[+3, -0] The cinematography was great. Definitely worth the money of seeing it in a theater. Everything else, though... especially the acting.. which is weird because they're all great in other works but felt awkward in this. Lee Dong Wook left an impression;; don't k now about the rest. Ah, I remember Jung Woo Sung because his acting just felt so weird..
[+2, -0] It was bad aside from the first fighting scene, Jo Woo Jin's acting, Lee Dong Wook's final scene, the despair at the window... the cinematography is beautiful but 'Hero' felt like a more touching movie to me
[+1, -0] I went to see it without knowing much beforehand and it felt more like a documentary~ I got so sleepy. I think it's thanks to the actors' promotion of it that the movie is even getting the numbers it is.
[+0, -0] It came out at 7.8 and is going up to 8.1! I saw it when it was at around 7.8. Expert critics didn't enjoy it but regular theatergoers have given it high ratings!! I think it was well made.
[+0, -0] The movie just has too many dark themes~
[+0, -0] I wonder why people didn't enjoy it ㅠㅠ I really did.. the movie is quite serious but the actors pulled through to keep it from getting boring. The last scene especially was so good ㅠㅠ
[+0, -0] How odd considering the cast is made up of names that all boast high numbers in movie sales;;
[+0, -0] I think the public would've preferred a more heroic depiction of Ahn Joong Geun versus the movie's more agonized depiction of him.
