Song Joong Ki gets some flak for saying married men get less roles in the industry

When asked by a reporter in China about how he plans to juggle life as both a father and actor, he said, "In the entertainment industry, becoming a father/husband also means that you will get less job opportunities. Having a baby and getting married means less and less work for me. But I'm not afraid. I won't pay mind to it. My family will always be more important than work."

[+128] I think it's because his image has always been that of a heartthrob so getting married and becoming a father will probably limit his roles, is what he meant to say
[+107] The audacity of a male actor to say this, not even a female actress ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
[+63] He could've just said he was going to focus on his family and left it at that. People who blab on too much always end up in hot waters like this.
[+58] I feel like he's not even all that compared to his peers but he's always acting like some hot shot 😮 he seems four-dimensional to me
[+40] So many haters... ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ It's obvious that he meant this to say that he's always taken on heartthrob, romance lead roles, and becoming a married man and a father on top of that will limit him from those roles from now on, no? He's not allowed to say that? But people are quick to pick on the fact that he's a "man" saying this, and how dare he ㅋㅋㅋ but what he said applies to women as well. You think a married woman with kids is going to get romance lead roles still?; Enough with the gender wars and look at it from their job perspective, though I'm sure Song Joong Ki will make enough money taking on father or ajusshi roles from now on ㅋㅋㅋ
[+30] No one can understand the risks of his career better than himself. No point in us arguing about it...
[+27] Well, there are a lot of actors who only entered the spotlight many, many years after they got married, so...
[+23] He's getting weirder and weirder
[+21] I get that he's super in love right now and has lost his mind to it, but he needs to wake up before he really starts losing job opportunities
[+8] I'd understand a female actress saying this.... but a male actor? Eh
[+8] He's right, though... not like any of you would know since you're not even actors

[+218] I don't get what all this hate is for when he's not even impacting anyone with his words... jeez
[+181] He did exaggerate his words a bit but I don't think it's anything controversial
[+108] A bit exaggerated but I can see why he'd feel concern over it
[+88] An actor's job is never stable since they go from contract to contract, so I can see why he'd feel concerned after getting married. It's true that the diversity of his roles is now more limited, which is probably sad for someone who might've wanted to try more roles throughout his career.
[+22] Well, his fame was built off of his heartthrob image so he wouldn't be wrong
[+45] I can see his concern since he has only ever been in melodramas but I think this is a great opportunity for his career to pivot into more diverse roles like Choi Min Shik.
[+95] Don't know why people would take such issue with him wanting to foucs on his family more..
[+19] He's not wrong, though.. to be a famous person in Korea requires way too much caring about what others think
