Video: Jun Soyeon apologizes for plagiarizing ATEEZ song

1. [+843] Admitting to your fault and apologizing is the right thing to do, I don't know why so many people find it so difficult... Not that I'm defending her for plagiarizing. Apparently it's ATEEZ's first song to hit #1 so I can understand why their fans are so upset.

2. [+877] I think it's important to show KQ's (ATEEZ's agency) side of the statement as well. Unlike Cube's statement, KQ revealed that there were no prior agreements about the credits. There hasn't been any proper conclusion to the case or a settlement reached so the video is misleading in that it makes it seem as if this whole thing is done and over.

3. [+607] I'm a fan but I admit that Soyeon is in the wrong no matter the reason. I hope the fans who are defending her despite the artist herself admitting to plagiarizing understand just how embarrassing that behavior is. This is something everyone should be apologetic to the writers of 'Wave' for. Can you imagine how upsetting it must feel to see your bias group's first #1 song get plagiarized like this? As a Neverland, I'm so, so sorry to everyone this has affected.

4. [+734] She was in the wrong to plagiarize, has admitted to it, and apologized. It embarrasses me as a fan to see other fans still defending her. As a producer herself, Soyeon knows the issues surrounding plagiarism and this issue is on Soyeon's negligence. As Soyeon's fan, I'm apologetic to ATEEZ, their composer, and their fans. It's an especially precious song to them because it's their first #1 song so I'm sorry that it's become so controversial... If you're a true Neverland, all you have to do is understand that it was Soyeon's mistake and trust that she won't do it again. You're responsible for trusting your artist. Denying what your artist has already admitted to is basically saying you don't trust her.

5. [+223] Well, this whole thing has made me find out about a group called ATEEZ... they have a lot of great songs

6. [+140] It was Soyeon's mistake and it's good that she admitted to it. It's understandable for ATEEZ's fans to be upset over this. I hope that the minority of G-Idle fans who are pushing against ATEEZ and their fans are feeling embarrassed over their behavior right now.

7. [+117] Soyeon is in the wrong for this. Plagiarism is wrong whether it was intentional or not, and it's also wrong for her fans to be denying what the artist herself has already admitted to. However, I also think it isn't right to try to cut down Soyeon by bringing up other things that have nothing to do with this particular scandal. I hope that Soyeon is more careful in the future and that this doesn't happen again.

8. [+41] I don't get why people are saying that Cube is handling this well when they've been one-sided this whole time and only responding after the plagiarism controversy blew up. A settlement hasn't even been reached and they just added the composer's name to the credits and apologized, but that doesn't make this all go away.

9. [+161] Soyeon is definitely in the wrong with this but I hope that this doesn't make people put down her hard work, time spent, and other composed songs too.

10. [+63] Fans just need to stop shielding... The artist herself has admitted to it, it's sad to see some of her fans put up any shield to try and weasel her out of this. Please just admit to it.

11. [+351] But something about Jun Soyeon makes me think she's a good person. I don't think any controversy like this will make me hate her or anything, barring any big scandal

12. [+32] An apology is what she needed to do. Why are people coddling her like "oh, good job good job" over it.? What about the people who've been hurt by this? ATEEZ, Eden-ary, the fans? Is an apology letter all that makes this go away...? And Cube's story isn't even adding up..
