Kakao drops out against CJ in race to acquire SM

1. [+438, -54] He's probably selling off SM because he thinks it's going to flop
2. [+176, -13] He's selling because he's been sucking up to China this whole time but China threw him out ㅋㅋㅋ Either way, he can still make 600 billion won off of this so no wonder politicians and businessmen like him alike are selling off our country to the Chinese.
3. [+147, -27] I think Lee Soo Man is getting his inheritance affairs in order. If he passes his wealth down to his children as is, they're going to be hit with a ton of taxes that will burden them with debt for the rest of their lives. He has to do what he has to do.
4. [+48, -7] He's not going to try to evade taxes on this one?
5. [+38, -10] Wow, so is that why CJ put SM judges on the 'Street Woman Fighter' panel? But you all saw the viewer reactions, right? Sticking in SM artists ended up getting backlash so stop using SM artists. They have more antis than fans and most people don't even care about SM as a company anymore.
6. [+19, -3] Kakao's smart for dropping out... CJ's just going to get used by Lee Soo Man ㅋㅋ
7. [+16, -0] SM's love obsession with China ♡. They were so sure that the Hallyu ban would go away and kept investing all their money into growing Chinese talent but now Xi Jinping has even started all sorts of regulations on idols and Lee Soo Man's China love ♡ is screwed.
8. [+16, -0] Looks like we're going to get a ton of damn idols in dramas now then
9. [+16, -7] SM's days are dwindling... they don't really have a representative artist anymore
10. [+7, -0] Good on Kakao for dropping out. Why would you pay 600 billion won for SM? CJ must be insane to even be considering this.
11. [+7, -1] I think with anyone who acquires SM, the problem will be how long they can retain Lee Soo Man's vision for. They've been working with a lot of foreign composers lately so his influence has been less so but there are still a lot of elements where his opinions and styles are obviously reflected in the products. How long the new company can maintain that after Lee Soo Man leaves will be their biggest obstacle. Just like how Apple is a different company under Tim Cook than it was under Steve Jobs. I don't know that CJ can live up to the expectations of SM fans.
12. [+4, -0] CJ needs to think of this longterm. SM has had too much Chinese influence.
