'Kohaku Uta Gassen' cancels BTS from this year's ceremony

Article: Japanese media, "BTS canceled from Kohaku Uta Gassen, cold water over the Hallyu wave"

1. [+1,052, -8] What 'cold water'? ㅋ Japan should be apologizing to us, why should we be the ones crawling?

2. [+915, -6] This is stupid, they don't even realize how embarrassed they should be ㅋㅋㅋ well, thank you for clearing up their schedule so they can rest ^^

3. [+897, -10] From now on, I'm going to listen to any BTS song that gets played no matter what. With so many people who are willing to crawl and suck up to Japan for the money, I really like these BTS guys. If they keep it up, I'll support them from here on out.

4. [+34, -0] This is great. Just stay out of performing from that rising sun country. Ostracize them from the entire world.

5. [+30, -0] That's great... BTS is busy enough already, stop looking for them

6. [+28, -0] They can cancel BTS all they want, BTS is already at a level where their fans will look their stuff up on their own... Hallyu won't die no matter how hard Japan tries ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

7. [+26, -1] The more accurate title would be "Kohaku Uta Gassen fails to invite BTS to ceremony"

8. [+24, -1] I know everyone's saying that it's great but I'm sure the members are upset for their Japanese fans and Jimin's blaming himself for the t-shirt... I just hope that they don't blame themselves for any of this.

9. [+19, -0] As if the Kohaku Uta Gassen is anything special to be hyping up in the media like this. BTS should be applauded, so much better than all those other singers who go mum when asked about Dokdo issues just so they can make money in Japan.

10. [+14, -0] It's fine ㅋ their Japanese dome tour got sold out even amidst this mess ㅎ The Japanese government is just digging their own grave

Article: Seo Kyung Duk, "Japan is setting themselves up to lose with canceling BTS from 'M Station'"

Source: Sports Donga via Naver

1. [+1,492, -73] The foreign media is currently not reporting the issue as something positive. They're all basing their articles off of Japanese sources. We all need to realize what exactly is going on, and please stop saying that BTS has brought attention to Japan's past war conduct ... Armies have been staying up all night on Twitter leaving English replies to foreign media outlets reporting the wrong information so please help them out.

2. [+1,275, -21] The majority of westerners aren't educated on the history between Korea and Japan. Reality is that they're more aware of North Korea than South, so how can we expect them to know the South's history? We need to take this opportunity to let the entire world know about Japan's atrocities so that we don't let Japan laugh us off anymore.

3. [+1,119, -8] Unlike our media, the foreign media is all using sources from Japan's perspective. They're not calling it the 'liberation t-shirt', their focus is on calling it the 'atomic bomb t-shirt' and there are even articles calling Japan the victim by misrepresenting our history. Anyone who knows English, I hope you can help out in explaining our history the right way.

4. [+903, -13] The situation on SNS is different right now. A lot of people view the t-shirt as a celebration of the death of many innocent people, and a lot are saying that Jimin is in the wrong and that he should apologize. It's only Koreans who are rejoicing and saying that everything's great, and we really need to leave our bubble and see the other side because if we let this continue, other countries are really going to start seeing Japan as the victim in all of this. We need to start handling this realistically.

5. [+396, -7] I support BTS

6. [+84, -0] There are so many articles defending Japan and it's frustrating. I'm sure none of them care about the history of another country, they just care about Japan cosplaying as the victim and disgustingly whining about all of this. Please spread this around in English ㅜㅜ we really need to get the facts right.

7. [+83, -3] Japan has been sending out articles from their perspective nonstop, what is our own government doing?

8. [+66, -0] This won't be resolved with only Armies translating and spreading our message. The media is full of right-wingers so everything is getting buried. We really need our media to step up and stop Japan from cosplaying as the victim.

9. [+62, -0] (TN: This comment is in English) Japanese are known to take the policy of ignoring and distorting their heinous war crimes. They doNOT teach their young anything about their shameful history of invasions. Thus some Japanese people choose to believe that their country did nothing wrong. This in itself is a gross wrongdoing.
