2. [+4,214, -91] Tired of being a clown, off to become an actress

3. [+3,993, -66] Knew she'd resort to Japan.. ㅋㅋ

4. [+3,462, -60] Everyone's leaving for Japan...

5. [+777, -27] She'd only work in Japan... Her image is already rock bottom in Korea and she'll get so much hate for her poor acting here. I wonder why she even went to England to study abroad though ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

6. [+652, -13] The previous article said that they were just getting in contact for dinner together and denied a contract but she's already got a calendar filmed and everything

7. [+620, -45] I guess Kang Jiyoung will start stripping too... Joining a Japanese agency, showing skin is pretty much a given over there.

8. [+575, -18] She basically wanted all the money to herself ㅋㅋㅋ

Its not a surprise when you treat your own like this...

  3. Kara will sang OST song for jiyoung drama/movie.. ..err

  4. Why do people still care if u really hate her just ignore her(like me lol) unless youre a fan you shouldnt really care anymore like whatever man leave her alone??

  6. I thought she was going to study abroad in London? Hope she finds success

  7. "Seems she knows herself that she has no hope in Korea since she chose a career in Japan..."
Why would anyone willingly subject themselves to the behind the scenes horror show that is the Korean drama industry if they had other options lol. Unless Japan is the same as Korea and is regularly working actors so hard they have to be hooked up to IVs, failing to pay people for their work, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Japan is where the money at

    ReplyDelete
  9. Was this really a surprise? I mean really? It was pretty obvious she would stay in the entertainment field.

    ReplyDelete
  10. sweet power?? so she's with queen meisa and horimaki lmao

    ReplyDelete
  11. She reminds me of Nozomi Sasaki in the 2nd picture (slightly)

I hope she does well in Japan but I wonder if she intends to be based in Japan for the rest of her career or if she will return to Korea one day.

    ReplyDelete
  12. That studying abroad in the UK thing though. Her dad saying that she wanted to try and focus on doing "different" things because of her young age. He / Jiyoung herself made it sound like she was taking a break from the entertainment industry and put out that excuse she was going to study so she wouldn't get any backlash. But now she's signing contracts, back in Korea/Japan and ready to be actress? Okay then, Jiyoung.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Gonna be a fangirl for a sec and say I miss Jiyoung :'(

    ReplyDelete
  14. the question is,
will she become success in japan? >.<

even AKB48 ex member still struggles for her solo career.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Are all the kara members fluent in japanese??

    ReplyDelete
  16. She looks soo japanese in the second photo :o

    ReplyDelete
  17. JUST LET HER BE .
DON'T CARE ABOUT HER IF YOU HATE HER
    GO AWAY HATERS!.

    ReplyDelete
  18. But then Japanese has been anti-hallyu lately from what I've seen

    ReplyDelete
  19. But they are extremely pro-Kara

    ReplyDelete
  20. yas Jiyoung go get that ¥en

  21. Every country's entertainment industry has haters. Even in Japan, there are Japanese netizens who comment misogynistic and perverted comments towards their female celebrities. Every entertainment industry has its own haters. Japan's isn't perfect, Hollywood isn't perfect.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Poor acting? I watched her act in KARA's Secret Love drama and Rainbow Rose. She did well in both, in my opinion, seeing how both of her roles demanded different executions for both characters. With proper marketing and publicity I'm pretty sure she'll do fine. It's a better decision to debut in Japan too knowing the working conditions for actors in Korean dramas.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Well not all of them, they actually made a comic shading kara and snsd as kpop idol who go to japan to make money by stripping

    ReplyDelete
  24. have u seen KARA tour dates for new japanese tour. its awful. They went from arenas to 2-3 000 ppl hall

    ReplyDelete
  25. Stripping is more severe in Japanese idol markets tho.
Besides the anti-hallyu thing isn't from normal Japanese.
They are rightists in japan who are very racists esp towards Korean and Chinese. Even they have done a street demonstration claiming all Korean should die and Zainichi (Korean who lives in Japan) should go back to Korea.

    ReplyDelete
  26. She's gorgeous and has that image and look the Japanese like.
If her agency plays their game smartly, she could become moderately well-known or even big.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Extremely? Their sales of 500.000 to 800.000 went down to 58.000 in 3 years.
They also didn't dare for Tokyo Dome in their latest tour compared to previous year's.

I doubt she has that many fans in Japan either, most of them were obsessed over mainly Hara followed by Nicole.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Isn't she like the 2nd most popular KARA members in Japan after Hara?
As long as she didn't pursue her career as a singer there, i guess she'll be fine then if they like her...

    ReplyDelete
  29. Even if sales dropped i cant believe they went from arenas to small halls. Even 2ne1 that were never huge in Japan and never had big sales had concerts in bigger arenas this year than those KARA will have in next few months

    ReplyDelete
  30. well japan has comics about all sorts of weird stuff, i'm really not surprised lol

    ReplyDelete
  31. Sweet Power! Same company as Maki and bump.y! and Ryuugen

    ReplyDelete
  32. hays... i have mix emotion...

its KARA's comeback suddenly...hays im sooo sad...

    ReplyDelete
  33. Are you joking?
These are Japanese idols and they wear underwear in their MV and do way more dirty things.
I think their target is pedo bears?
Acting all cute but wearing very revealing underwear is more meh to me.

True,a lot of groups have been promoting a lot more in japan than korea. They earn big bucks there.

  36. Cheer up OKL I'm sure better days are coming for all of KARA soon even if the members aren't together anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hollywood doesn't give a damn about their haters. Korean entertainers and agencies put a lot of emphasis on online comments. I don't know about Japan, but if Jiyoung can't read it - it prob will bother her less than it does back home in SK.

  39. yes... all of them are capable to speak japanese

    ReplyDelete
  40. You know, I'm just gonna come out and say it. People will pretend otherwise but I'll be real. Absolutely 2% cared about Jiyoung leaving KARA. Most people who "cared" about her leaving were people who paid no attention to her when she was in the group but wanted Kara to stay as 5. I have seen several people bitch over Mr. Potatohea- I mean Nicole all over the place. And she is the reason most people throw shade towards Youngji now. But I have seldom seen anyone bitch about Jiyoung leaving. I just think it's funny lol

    ReplyDelete
  41. I knew you'd be posting here lmao

But anyway I'm pretty sure Jing was top 3-4 in both Japan and Korea (I'm not sure if she was more popular than Nicole)

    ReplyDelete
  42. This is the part of AKB I always avoid. Seeing them in bikini rubs me the wrong way

    ReplyDelete
  43. they are not part of akb. SDN48 is a different group from akb with a concept of "adult" idol.

    ReplyDelete
  44. They also stated during that time that she had dreams of becoming an actress, so this isn't really surprising. She had a few months of studying abroad so I guess she's now ready for her acting career.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I'm pretty sure the first picture is from AKB's Heavy Rotation PV

    ReplyDelete
  46. No no no ... Dae already has his own baggage with K-netz .. But she was really cute back then during FO, too bad Dae was all about his image ..

    ReplyDelete
  47. But some of them are from AKB. And I specifically mention AKB because I'm more familiar with them than SDN.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  57. I don't see why you try to make her seem ridiculous. Have you ever wanted to live in another country in a couple of months to actually live a different life. My friend who has a job as a banker quitted her job after 4 years to go study Korean in Korea. For only 6 months. Her Korean still sucks, but she had a lot of fun and enjoyed the culture and kpop there.

It's funny now Jiyoung even gets hated for living the life she wants. Not like she's studying English in UK gonna damage any of your lives.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I think her Japanese is the best in Kara, hope she will do well there.

    ReplyDelete

  63. + shading everyone who did it. How nice of him

    ReplyDelete
  64. someone should have done this. so I don't care how he said it. people should stop going crazy over the challange.
    I
think in spite of everybody esp the ones who do this just because
everybody is doing it and it is fun and not care about the reason or not
going to donate shouldn't do the challenge. also at least 5 of 10
celebrities can choose only to donate and not do the challange. Since it is
mostly the people who are well known by public can be useful to this
charity everybody out there shouldn't care about doing
the challenge but be aware of the msg it has and make donation if they can
or learn about the diease and how they can help people.
I don't get people who say don't bath
don't flush toilet when saving water is mentioned. are those the only
things you can think? why not say don't let water run in vain while
washing up (bath, doing dishes, brushing teeth, shaving...etc) or
watering the garden or not leaving the taps open or fix the dripping
taps... there are tons of ways to save water and you can only think to
not bath, to not clean up..

    ReplyDelete
  65. To save a bucket of water doesn't produce any clean water in Africa though. If you really want to help them just donate at http://thewaterproject.org

    ReplyDelete
  66. I think I prefer them promoting in Japan as well. They seem a lot happier and relaxed there

    ReplyDelete
  67. Can't wait till she gets huge in Japan, it's going to happen too bc Japan absolutely LOOOOVES her. Then knetz will be praising her and saying how proud they are that one of their own is a big actress in a huge industry like Japan.

  72. Isn´t that what trainees worked so hard for, to have a career in the entertainment industry? Of course they are going to get whatever they are offered and earn money from them. If the celebrities will just listen to every comment on the internet, they will be bankrupt. If there´s no demand for these celebrities, then you won´t see them on TV. If you don´t like them don´t watch them or buy their merchandise.

LOL Speak for yourself, look at the latest Kpop groups and photoshoots of idols... Yeah.

Also Jiyoung decided to become actress in Japan. and actress (or even idols) don't all strip, no. Their photoshoots aren't more revealing than korean celebrities. Of course there are the gravure models in Japan, this is another thing. but actresses and idols don't especially show more than korean celebrities. really.

As for the article itself and Jiyoung. Now it's clear why she decided to leave the group. She'll get to be in a popular agency in Japan, as actress, she could earn more popularity, more money (or not, let's see). She took her opportunity. but not sure what to think of this. Somehow I don't know if she'll even get successful.

To be objective about this, if her university is exam rather than project based, she could cram for exams only and effectively pass. Probably not excel but at least pass.

    ReplyDelete
  77. You is another one that dont understand my comments but is good to see people really donating instead of only talking or being keyboard warrior:)

    ReplyDelete
  78. I as someone who grew up in Africa I certainly understand him we used have our water used to be shut off on days so I learned the importance of water therefore this challenge is a little hard for me to take and I know it's for a good cause but I feel they should do ot somewhere with a drain or something therefore the water isn't wasted

    ReplyDelete
  79. It's not like not participating will mean there will be more clean water in developing countries. That's really flawed logic.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  83. Just bcos the media focused on the POVERTY STRICKEN countries in Africa, doesn't mean all the countries in Africa are poor. U would be quiet surprised. Guys Africa in not a country, it is a CONTINENT. and it is quiet insulting when u post up a pic and say ohhh poor Africa.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Seolady is worthy of being everyone's role model. Get that relevancy seororo.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I totally understand his reasons for not wanting to do the challenge but the way he refused to do it is a little bit insulting to all the people who did it.

Thanks to this challenge, awareness about ALS has been raise and foundations have received more donations in the past couple of weeks than for ever.

So instead of making people feel like morons maybe he should have proposed an alternative challenge or advice people to use recycled water. Or even better donate to both ALS and the waterproject (because not dumping a bucket of water on your face won't give Africa another bucket of clean water unless you donate)

    ReplyDelete
  92. As per usual... This guy always think he's houlier than thou

    ReplyDelete
  93. People should care about their own plate, you are going to school for yourself not for others.I'm sure Seohyun did her best.

    ReplyDelete
  94. She left probably because knetz were too mean to the point she'd get (digitally) spat at if she had chosen to stay on in the korean entertainment industry. Even after she successfully secured a contract with a japanese agency, they're still going after her. Reflect, knetz. Reflect. You are usually not a better person than the one you accuse.

    ReplyDelete
  95. They hate on Jinyoung for getting celebrity treatment in university but didn't Seohyun also get celebrity treatment? This girl only does charity and only donates for the attention anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Doesn't matter if he wants to do the challenge or not, as long as he's willing to donate, it's good.

And for those people who think this challenge is stupid and why not just donate? Think again. Actually, by doing this "silly" thing -- the cause gains more attention and garners more cash. Do you think if they don't have this ice bucket gimmick they'd garner that large amount of money? Yes, possible, but not that fast. Let people donate while having fun. It's not like by not doing the challenge, the water will go to Africa.

And by the way, once you do the ice bucket challenge, you'll be paralyzed for a short time. One of the effects of the ALS disease. They want you to experience what does it feel like to have that kind of disease, so they're pursuing you to donate once you experience it.

What he did just say was unnecessary tho. It's like implying those who've done the challenge are dumb. No.

  100. exactly and if he didn't stated that, the most people here wouldn't even care...they say all mighty things but in the end of the day they use and 'waste' water like before...if we use it or not doesn't change the problem in these areas/countries who are in need

    ReplyDelete
  101. Donating $100 is more help than $10 I don't understand the help

    ReplyDelete
  102. tbh. As if he wanted to look like a superhero.

    ReplyDelete
  103. But wasting a commodity just because it's plenty in a developed country doesn't help anyone either? Also, a huge percentage of water usage comes from agriculture and goods productions, and most companies from developed countries are sucking up the water in developing countries by setting up their plants there to sustain the supplies in said developed countries. So maybe, just maybe, if people stop wasting water and the water supply is abundant enough to sustain both the consumption and production, these companies can stop drying up other countries' lakes.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Geez, damn if you do, damn if you don't. Frankly I like him more that he just says he'd donate.

  108. dwindling water resources? and where is this water going? To mars?
Last I heard water cycled around the planet. If part of the world become desserts due to high industrialized agriculture and climate change than people are just going to have to move to where the water is- maybe to the parts of the world that are to be flooded in the next 20-50 years. Clean clean water is hard to come by but water itself is globally abundant.

    ReplyDelete
  109. what aspect didn't I understand in your comment pls?

    ReplyDelete
  110. Good job, Nickhun! you just showed that you didn't grasp the meaning of this campaign. waste of water? it's not like the campaign asks you to pour water on you for nothing. it's for a friggin good cause to spread more awareness to a devastating disease not many people know about!

Good job, that he basically subtly dissed the countless people who accepted and participated in this challenge.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Nichkhun is very strongly opinionated on the topic of saving water because of his experience in Tanzania. He has traveled miles into the rivers, almost getting stuck just to provide a few others with clean water to shower (with each getting only a bottle or so).
His intent was not to bring down others, but giving an explanation to why he hasn't done the ice bucket challenge.
Many celebrities that have done the als ice bucket challenge know little to nothing about the disease. Of course helping the campaign is important, but it doesn't need to be wasting water.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I can't play the video at work, but I'm wondering if the water was icy cold? if so, then yeah, very creative. I think one sports coach (football, I think?!) submerged himself in a swimming pool with icy water. but if the beach wasn't exactly cold - cold enough to make you feel numb for some moments - then that really defeated the purpose of the challenge!

    ReplyDelete

She does make a few valid points. Fuck off if you have nothing worthy to contribute to the conversation.

    ReplyDelete
  120. well obviously yeah, there is no fixed schedule for college. what i'm asking for specifically is how was she able to take all those required units when she already took a semester off and graduate a semester early?

2 things are possible here: either she overloaded all her remaining semesters to take on all the units she left on her sem break or the university gave her special conditions so she could do away with them, which is basically the special treatment bombacha was referring to.

You don't have to waste water just to do a campaign about charity.
Be creative and please pick another way to campaign.
For someone that live in a country that hard to find clean and clear water, I really can get what Nickhun wanted to say.
And, please, it's clearly clear that donate 100$ is bigger and more useful than just 10$, and for the 10$ you even waste water that could been save.....

God forbid that you make a mistake in your life that you can't take back. He doesn't have to please people like you. He can keep living his life doing what he has to do, raising awareness for the charities which he is part of, while you sit here hating behind a computer. You skepticism should be aimed at yourself. Look in the mirror and ask yourself if you could do what he does, regardless of the motive. Probably not.

It's not Nichkhun that's in the wrong it's you and your horrible mindset. And don't give me the "i'm just saying it like it is" shtick. Yeah, this guy messed up big time. He made a stupid mistake and has to live with it forever. People make mistakes they aren't proud of, but they just have to keep moving on in their lives. If one mistake like that makes him a horrible person for life, then what does that make you, an angel? Haha, stop lying to yourself.

It's one thing if Nichkhun goes, I think wasting water like this is just a really bad thing to do and people should be more mindful, then okay that's shade. But he was talking about how he himself is saving water. He never made it about other people ever. You just want to think the worst of someone when you don't agree with something they say.

That's the problem. I've seen people using actual ice with their water, and that's more of an accurate thing. Some people just think it's pouring water on your head. You can use cold water but it's not ice water, unless you chill it, which I doubt anyone did. They probably turned on the faucet and just let it go.

    ReplyDelete
  132. it's right, no doubt about that. But! it had no place in this challenge. again, if his concern was not to waste water, then pour the friggin' bucket in a field or a garden to water the plants. no need to add that tidbit when so many people participated.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Paul Wall The People's ChampAugust 21, 2014 at 9:59 AM

It would've been justified for people to jump on his case if he called others out on it or said something along the lines of "everyone should be aware of the water they waste." He's clearly just talking about himself.

  136. It has been pretty effective at raising money. Part of raising money is
publicity and awareness so "just donating" rather than making a funny
campaign probably wouldn't have raised nearly as much money. So you can sit down Khun with your self righteousness.

  137. Paul Wall The People's ChampAugust 21, 2014 at 10:02 AM

If you use that logic, let's ask you this: so you think half those people who did the bucket challenge did it because they really cared about ALS or because it is cool to dump some water on their heads and make a scene for instagram/facebook? Half of these people didn't even post a link, and another decent sized group didn't even use ice water... as you noticed it seems like some people just turned on the faucet on cold and used that.

I'm not attacking these people... I'm just trying to use your logic that people who have bad intentions or intentions not centered towards ALS should not donate.

  140. Yes, but wasting vast amounts of water (an estimated 6 million gallons already) for the sake of a viral challenge is definitely a privilege of living in the 'developed' world. I can't see this kind of a thing being condoned in a country where potable water is scarce.

  141. Think about it. Nichkhun

    ReplyDelete
  142. So ... ahm whats the point of ur reply back? :)

What i mean is , his intention ( from what i think) is that he doesnt want to waste water etc etc. And he also want people to know theres a water shortage etc. and that is true but....

Tbvh im act pissed at him coz ...shin bora did it. And feels like he throw a shade at her tho I THINK its not nickhun (how to spell his name?) intention.

Oh whatever, the important part is a lot of people are aware on the disease alr. :)

Maybe you should just stick with the water park argument, because that made a little bit of sense compared to your toilet comment.

Some people don't have a choice but to go to the bathroom often (bladder issues, etc.). I guess to save water we should all take a piss/dump in the grass like animals do. I would be down with that... just need some toilet paper.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Her whole point is about how you can basically go to 5 lectures a year and graduate. It depends on the professors and the university whether they'll let you graduate with such low attendance but most of the time, they do; especially when classmates don't have an issue with it. It's mostly about the tuition fees one offers anyway.
That's hardly a relevant point here. I was talking about how Seohyun couldn't have done it all without special help but she jumped the gun because, apparently, an image controlled by one's company defies reality.

  151. because California itself provides for other states, therefore yes, it does have to do with other states............

You should read my other comment, because you've derailed from my reasoning, and I'm aware of donating for a cause.

    sorry but?????

    ReplyDelete
  152. How are you so sure that she does it for attention? Then does that make every single celebrity who donated for charity an attention whore? Excuse me, but I'm pretty sure most did it with a good intention but if they did it for attention then that's just fucking messed up. Although I hope seohyun didn't. I choose to believe that she did it out of good intention. I mean how could she not?

You call those "miscellaneous things" but those things are actually necessary in keeping good hygiene.

You could use something more "miscellaneous" like water parks, car wash, etc. Unless you don't mind being around smelly people.

  157. Thank you for your comments - I think a lot of people aren't aware of just how serious potable water scarcity is (and will continue to be in the future). They feel defensive about this challenge being called out for the water it wastes, and rationalize it by saying, oh well I use lots of water to flush the toilet anyway. But the fact of the matter is that this ice bucket challenge is a demonstration of first world privilege - you wouldn't think of doing something like this in a place where water use was strictly rationed.

  165. Nichkhun is a smart boy. The ice bucket challenge alone is a ridiculous fad that folks abuse for attention and nothing else. The core message and fact that you donate should be genuine enough, not pouring ice water on yourself. Funny cause those who have done the ice water challenge are also strong advocates of being environmentally-responsible. Nichkhun showed class here!

[+40, -22] It's good that the ice bucket challenge is helping Lou Gehrig's disease patients but for Nichkhun whose been helping impoverished children in Africa where every cup of clear water is important, I'm sure he couldn't easily participate in the challenge. I think it's important to be persistent with your charity work rather than tacking on to trends. Either way, I want to give a round of applause to everyone doing good for others in the world.

  173. It's a good awareness, some people might be using this campaign as a way to seek attention but the result is it's helping charity and letting people know about this disease. If the flaws of this campaign is wasting water, you can simply do it on a lawn or stand in a big bucket to collect the water and use the water for plants. The whole reason for the campaign is to raise money and if people have time to think of flaws then they would have time to think of ways to solve the flaws. When campaign become a trend and a way to attention seek for some, It doesn't matter what a persons intention is, what matter is a big amount of money has been raised and still counting.

The problem isn't that. Some people here are saying "well we waste water every single day flushing the toilet so why does it matter if we waste water by dumping it on our heads." That is a flawed statement. So if you feel like we waste water every day flushing the toilet, wouldn't you be more mindful NOT to waste water in this challenge rather than saying "oh it's just a little more water, who cares." I get what people are saying about the point of this challenge and I am all for it. I think if some people want to do it to be more aware of how bad ALS can be, I have no problem with that whatsoever. But Nichkhun chose to save water but still donate... so what's the problem? HE STILL DONATED. If you do the challenge I don't see the real issue, but for people saying "well we waste water flushing a toilet" doesn't justify using water for ALS awareness, sorry to sound insensitive. You can still give generously without having to dump water on your head. While I may not know the intentions of every single donater or water dumper, I will say that maybe you should ask yourself why you're doing this... and answer honestly. No shade intended.

In his defense... most of the celebs who posted the challenge didn't actually provide the website or anything... they just hash tagged the challenge. Unless you want to go through millions of hash tagged photos, I think it's just better to post the website. Not saying that we should be so lazy to rely on another person to give us the info we need, but if the people wanted to help spread awareness they would add the website too. Just saying.

  185. I don't see what's the problem here. I know that he's throwing shade to the other people doing the ice bucket challenge, but seriously? Some of those people just wanted it for attention, and probably don't know why they're doing it. I guess some people know about the Lou Gehrig's disease now because of it since its supposed to raise awareness and all. But Nichkhun actually donated money, so what's the problem in that? He isn't obliged to do the challenge. Plus, it is important to save water. Like what the #4 netizen said, he went to Africa to help children there, where they value water. He probably thought of them. Anyway, he did a good cause and like all the other people dumping ice water on themselves, he's raising awareness. I think...
