Chinese media revealed that for the past two years, Korean actors have taken lead roles in 10 Chinese dramas and claims that it's because "Compared to Chinese actors, Korean actors have a cheaper guarantee." According to one drama associate, Chinese actors are paid about $130,000 USD per episode while Korean actors are paid about $60,000 USD per episode.
Although it's comparatively lower than what Chinese actors are paid, Korean actors are still paid 30% more than what they would receive for a Korean drama.
Media also claimed that Chinese actors are more fickle with accommodations, making Korean actors more favorable candidates with drama producers.

1. [+202, -3] I don't think it's that Korean actors are cheap... Just that your Chinese actors are overpaid bubbles.
2. [+164, -4] The thing about Korean dramas is that we'd never use a top Chinese actor no matter how cheap we could sign him on for. Unless you want the drama to fail, of course.
3. [+154, -2] Yeah, well, go ahead and use 'em all you like. I think it's a waste of money spending even a dollar on actors with such crappy talents but I guess the Chinese don't have a problem shelling out that kind of cash for them. Chaeyeon can't even release an album in Korea but fortunately because of you Chinese giving her acting work, she's bringing home some foreign money!
4. [+13, -0] That's alright, Koreans don't use Chinese actors anyway
5. [+9, -0] But the actors that Chinese dramas take... are either not popular or rookies... They couldn't afford any of our top actors.
6. [+8, -0] I'm more surprised that Jang Woo Hyuk is an actor over there
7. [+7, -0] Can we force an advancement of all of our idol actors into the Chinese drama market then?
8. [+7, -0] If they consider $60,000 cheap, then why not? They're being paid more than they would in Korea anyway~ ㅋ
9. [+7, -0] So are the Chinese basically saying that they choose their leads by price?
10. [+5, -0] $60,000 is a lot per episode... Jang Nara, Goo Hye Sun, and Jang Woo Hyuk have been promoting a lot in China lately, they must be rolling in the dough.
