TV: [Spoilers!!!] The Best Lee Soon Shin (Finale)

Article: Finale 'Lee Soon Shin', IU grabs hold of both her dreams + love.. happy ending

Source: Star News via Naver + Nate + Nate

1. [+3,498, -42] It's not until the last episode that the plot fastforwards at LTE speed

2. [+3,018, -46] Scriptwriter, I'll be looking forward to the name of your next drama... so that I can avoid it

3. [+1,054, -55] We all thought IU would be the downfall of this drama but it was the scriptwriter

4. [+771, -14] Scriptwriter, please never write another 50 episode long drama again ㅠㅠ How could you end the drama like this.. Are you not at all apologetic to the viewers who watched until the end? What kind of ending is this?

5. [+725, -13] The scriptwriter should look for a new job

6. [+664, -9] So the entire cast wakes up one morning and decides to turn into nice people... what a conclusion.

7. [+189, -7] I've never seen a worst KBS drama in its history... No fun, no touching moments... All they did was rip at each other in the search of their birth parents until randomly deciding to be nice to each other.

8. [+112, -15] Everyone was worried about IU in this drama... but the true enemy was the scriptwriter.

Article: 'The Best Lee Soon Shin' Jo Jung Suk - IU's sweet and fresh romance

Source: Asia Econ via Naver

1. [+511, -34] Jo Jung Suk is so handsome ㅠㅠThey're so sweet together, I smile like their mother watching over them the entire time I'm watching ㅠㅠ

2. [+463, -14] The drama is moving at a snail's pace... we need LTE speed plot development.
- Yeah, it's really frustrating to watch...
- They drag the plot out so much... There's only 15 minutes of an actual plot out of the hour long episode. The rest are just fillers.

3. [+429, -22] Please just let IU and Jo Jung Suk love. Don't randomly make her Kim Kap Soo's daughter or relative and destroy their chances at love

4. [+391, -23] It's been a while since I enjoyed an episode of this drama this much

5. [+354, -18] Hopefully they won't turn this into a makjang where they end up being siblings? If so, I refuse to watch any more dramas by this scriptwriter

6. [+343, -20] Jo Jung Suk makes me smile like a mother

7. [+260, -13] Had fun watching it ^^ Other than the parts Choi Yeon Ah was torturing

8. [+246, -22] Jo Jung Suk's charming, IU's cute!

TV: [Spoilers!!!] IU's acting begins to pick up

Article: 'The Best Lee Soon Shin' IU's shining crying act 'receives praise'

Source: Newsen via Nate

1. [+200, -77] I didn't anticipate much but she is really good

2. [+164, -73] I got goose bumps from her acting in three scenes yesterday. First when she was shouting about what she was supposed to do when her mom denied being her mom, second when she told Lee Mi Sook not to contact her anymore, and third when she was crying with Go Doo Shim.

3. [+162, -85] This unni cried with you, IU. What can you not do~

4. [+36, -18] Her acting's good

5. [+37, -10] I consider IU a real actress. Other actresses are too busy trying to look pretty but IU is true to her role. She dresses casually with minimal make up and hair styling. Reminds me of when Han Hye Jin was in 'Geum Soon Ah' and she wore a different luxury bag every day when she was supposed to be a poor single mother. IU's tearful acting last night was great.

-

Article: 'Lee Soon Shin' when will IU show her true worth?

Source: OSEN via Naver

1. [+134, -76] First time seeing a KBS drama with such low viewer ratings

2. [+91, -30] I saw a few episodes and her acting's definitely not on the bad side. I just think the drama itself is pretty boring...

3. [+121, -69] I don't care because I don't watch dramas but it's my first time seeing my mom not watch a drama during that time slot

4. [+134, -87] Acting skills: IU >>>>> wall you can't climb over >>>> bal-Suzy

5. [+45, -11] IU's barely had any acting practice and she's doing decently now, what's Kim Tae Hee going to do?

6. [+33, -8] Even if she's great at acting, she doesn't have many opportunities to put it to use. Her character was missing from a huge chunk of the episode yesterday after she left the house upon discovering the truth. The script, editing, and the plot overall are really work. There's no tension, no humor... The plot is just flowing according to the cast. There's nothing special or unique about it. I think the scriptwriters are being really lazy with this drama.

TV: [Spoilers!!!] IU gets egged on 'The Best Lee Soon Shin'

Reader request.

-

Article: IU gets egged, acting fighting spirit at the risk of her body 'standing ovation'

Source: TV Daily via Nate

1. [+950, -144] She's getting paid to do this, why does that deserve a standing ovation;;;

2. [+602, -54] I feel like I saw this scene in Boys Over Flowers

3. [+591, -88] Well since she's acting, she should have acting fighting spirit.... Not really deserving of a standing ovation

She's acting, why does that deserve praise? Because she got egged? It's not like she had to go through wire action scenes or anything ㅡㅡ This is why she's an idol

5. [+72, -29] What's so amazing about an actor getting egged for her role... Should make the media play less obvious, the journalist just ends up looking like an anti.

6. [+69, -28] She really does a lot more media play than you think. Standing ovation? Ha.

7. [+47, -19] Other actors endure much worse... shivering under waterfalls for hours at a time. It's their job, why do they deserve a standing ovation for doing their job? So actors are overlooked while idols are given standing ovations for the same work? Actors will sacrifice themselves for their work, idols shouldn't expect special treatment if they know what they're getting into

8. [+47, -24] Eunhyuk "Does it hurt where you were egged? What hospital are you at?"

TV: [The Best...] IU is blowing Jo Jung Suk's acting out of the waters?

Article: 'The Best Lee Soon Shin', tables flip on IU and Jo Jung Suk's acting

Source: Herald Biz via Naver

Article that talks about how IU is exceeding expectations with her natural acting while Jo Jung Suk seems unable to shed the image of his previous characters, essentially slowing down the plot and boring viewers with his comparatively lack of talent next to IU.

1. [+262, -22] What's wrong with you... Jo Jung Suk is doing just fine

2. [+228, -20] Hating on Jo Jung Suk again? So ridiculous. Journalist, exactly how do you expect him to act in order for it to be considered good?

3. [+212, -23] This guy is calling IU perfect and without flaws while hating on Jo Jung Suk. What is going on?? What utter bias...

4. [+207, -21] What a laugh, since when was there an acting controversy over Jo Jung Suk? You're the one starting the controversy with biased articles like this. Really, tell me, journalist, where exactly are you seeing this controversy? You've been writing about this controversy after every episode and I've yet to see anyone talk about it

5. [+189, -18] I've been seeing at least one article a day talking crap about Jo Jung Suk's acting... Are you the same journalist?

6. [+163, -19] Who does the journalist think he is judging Jo Jung Suk's acting??? Are you a professional actor? The only people allowed to judge are the viewers.

7. [+146, -20] What's he talking about ㅋㅋ Jo Jung Suk's doing fine

8. [+130, -19] How is this Jo Jung Suk's fault? It's true that IU's acting is better than I initially thought but how does it make sense at all that Jo Jung Suk's acting is worse than IU's? IU's just doing well for an idol and because we all had low expectations of her. Jo Jung Suk, however, is well known for his great acting so we had high expectations for him that he's trying to live up to. Controversy? Are you serious?

TV: The Best Lee Soon Shin succumbs to pressure and changes controversial poster

Article: 'The Best Lee Soon Shin' changes controversial poster

Source: TV Report via Naver

1. [+521, -13] Then is it still necessary to use the name Lee Soon Shin...

2. [+435, -12] What were they even intending? Step all over Lee Soon Shin to get to the top?

3. [+421, -13] Should've changed it from the start instead of earning all this hate by saying it wasn't their intention and refusing to change anything

4. [+358, -14] This drama would never do well if not for its time slot ㅡㅡ It's basically guaranteed viewer ratings because all the other channels are airing news at 8 pm on a Saturday so the only thing housewives have to see is this drama

5. [+334, -20] Just get rid of the drama all together. It's frustrating and nothing worth watching.

-

Article: 'The Best Lee Soon Shin' changes controversial poster

Source: TV Report via Nate

1. [+338, -19] I didn't even realize they were stepping on the 100 won cent.. How disrespectful are they

2. [+291, -23] Change the name too

3. [+265, -18] At a time when our education system is lacking in Korean history education, you search Lee Soon Shin on portal sites and get results about the drama synopsis... There are just so many things wrong with this, I don't even know how the world is functioning anymore

4. [+40, -7] I can only say that the scriptwriter has trash for brains. This drama has absolutely no need for a character named Lee Soon Shin other than that "worth 100 cent" line and yet the writer insists on it, using all sorts of bull$hit excuses.

5. [+26, -6] Seems more like a sly maneuver to get off the chopping block by changing the poster when what everyone really wants is the title changed

-

TV: The Best Lee Soon Shin + WGM drop in viewer ratings

Article: 'The Best Lee Soon Shin' drops in viewer ratings, can they recover from their 'name controversy'?

Source:
TV Daily via Nate

1. [+319, -45] Well they basically said don't watch if you don't like it so I didn't.. I guess it helped..

2. [+310, -65] It's going to drop even worse from here on out. How dare the staff who are worse than dogs stick Lee Soon Shin's name on someone like IU.

3. [+253, -59] It's not only because of the name, it's because of the poor acting as well. It only had high viewer ratings at first because 'Seoyoung' ended and people had nothing else to watch. A shame because Jo Jung Suk seemed great at acting.

4. [+76, -14] They think they can live up to 'You Who Rolled In...' and 'Seoyoung'? Not only is the content empty but the entire cast was miscast. They're blind if they think they can ever jump 50%;;; Viewers of the previous two dramas all watched the first episode and changed the channel at the sitcom-like acting.

5. [+61, -12] Ridiculing a historical hero and ignoring the opinions of viewers. Final judgment: Take the drama off air. I heard this was even controversial with international Hallyu fans... What an embarrassment to the country.

-

Anyway, I found out it's considered a golden time slot because SBS and MBC air news in the same time slot and people would rather watch a drama with their families after dinner.

-

Article: 'WGM' Real couple has no effect? Viewer ratings in the 5% 'embarrassment'

Source: OSEN via Naver

1. [+354, -9] I truly wonder who's backing the 'WGM' PD to allow him to keep the show on air like this

2. [+272, -10] Perfect opportunity to take the show off air

3. [+251, -13] I bet playing reruns of Infinity Challenge would get better viewer ratings than this

4. [+196, -20] I'd consider watching if they got Se7en and Park Han Byul, otherwise I don't care

5. [+117, -4] Come on guys, let's get with the program. This has gone on long enough.

KBS announces they will not be changing 'The Best Lee Soon Shin' title

Article: KBS official statement "We will not be changing the title of The Best Lee Soon Shin" Title to be changed for Japan export

Source:
Newsen via Nate + Naver

1. [+98, -22] Viewers official statement "We will not be watching the drama"

2. [+71, -6] They're missing the point of why netizens are angry. Netizens are angry because if you say the name Lee Soon Shin, the first thing you should be thinking of are things like the Turtle ship. Lee Soon Shin was not engraved on our 100 cent coin for you idiots to make a joke out of. Get rid of the drama or change the title to 'The Best Sick Visit'!

3. [+61, -3] Honestly, this drama is too embarrassing to even export

4. [+47, -1] I don't get why they're changing the title for Japan but not for Korea... And why are they even thinking of exporting the drama already anyway? Amazing how Koreans are talking sh*t about their own country's hero and selling it off to Japan

5. [+44, -0] Really curious how they're going to translate the line "Go protect Dokdo or something"

6. [+39, -0] Fu*k, I just saw the drama poster and they're basically standing on top of the 100 cent coin. The producers fully know that Lee Soon Shin is on that coin and they're just stepping all over him. What a bunch of ba$tards.

7. [+37, -2] Nobody gives a sh*t about your exports, just change the goddamn name, you anti-Koreans.

8. [+38, -5] Japanese: Oh, so Lee Soon Shin is that delinquent girl desu ka???

9. [+37, -6] KBS has seriously lost it

10. [+29, -0] You wanna know why Lee Soon Shin is on the 100 cent coin? In modern times, yeah, we use paper money more than coins but back then, the 5, 10, and 100 cent coins were the most valued and used. That's why the Turtle ship is on the 5 cent coin and Lee Soon Shin is on the 100. But what did the producers joke? Worth nothing but that? The producers and the cast have to seriously be screwed in the head.

TV: Viewers demand 'The Best Lee Soon Shin' change its title

Article: 'The Best Lee Soon Shin' controversy... will it end up like 'Chakan Namja -> Chakhan Namja' and change its title?

Source:
E-News via Nate

1. [+352, -51] Just take the show off air

2. [+305, -18] If they want the drama to succeed, they better change the title. Don't be stubborn about this.

3. [+303, -18] Don't joke about our ancestors like this. It's because of them that we're able to live the way we are today. This drama seriously has to be anti-Korea... pisses me off.

4. [+50, -4] If they're not going to change the title, they best take the show off air

5. [+39, -2] My grandfather is a descendant of Duk Soo Lee.. and he was honestly very upset while watching the drama. He didn't say a word until he said that he felt apologetic that his ancestors were being joked about in such a manner ㅠㅠ There's a lawyer in the family who's thinking of filing a defamation lawsuit as well but I doubt we could win against a broadcast company. My grandfather was extremely shocked over Lee Soon Shin being joked about to protect Dokdo or something and only being worth 10 cents ㅠㅠ

6. [+36, -6] As if IU being the lead wasn't bad enough, they're humiliating Lee Soon Shin now

7. [+31, -4] How about they rename it to 'The Best Fools'

8. [+29, -1] Producers, please just change the title. Don't say this was not your intent, that doesn't matter at all. You've marketed your drama enough with this issue.

9. [+28, -0] If they don't change the title, they're basically just saying they're okay with ba$tardizing Lee Soon Shin.

10. [+21, -1] Take the drama off air

TV: The Best Lee Soon Shin on several different chopping blocks

Article: 'The Best' under controversy for disrespect of history "Lee Soon Shin, go protect Dokdo or something"

Source:
Star News via Nate

A line in the drama where recruiters tell IU (Lee Soon Shin) to "just go protect Dokdo or something" as the punch line of a joke is under controversy for not only trivializing the Dokdo issue as a joke but humiliating the achievements Lee Soon Shin made in his lifetime.

1. [+1,103, -48] Not only this but there's also a line where they say "Then Lee Soon Shin is of course worth 10 cents, how would he ever be worth a dollar?" ;;;;;;; There are so many lines that just make you not want to watch this drama

2. [+1,085, -47] This pissed me off as well. Since when did Lee Soon Shin become someone to joke about?

3. [+1,038, -38] The scriptwriter has lost her brain

4. [+210, -4] Was it absolutely necessary to use such an important historical figure of our country as the lead character's name in a drama? The drama is not even historical or anything about historical facts... They really should've thought twice about using the name Lee Soon Shin.

5. [+178, -1] Was Lee Soon Shin ever a person who should just protect Dokdo "or something" fu*k...

-

Article: Global DN files an injunction against 'The Best Lee Soon Shin' to ban the use of the name 'Lee Soon Shin'

Source: Sports Seoul via Nate

DN reps, "When you search the name Lee Soon Shin online now, the results you get are about IU. King Sejong and General Lee Soon Shin used to be the #1 and #2 most respected figures among elementary school students, but they've now changed to Yoo Jae Suk and Kim Yuna. KBS is essentially recreating the image of Lee Soon Shin through this drama, and the consequences are severe. By the time this drama is done airing, Lee Soon Shin will be the equivalent of IU to students."

"Recreating Lee Soon Shin like this is an infringement upon his honor and all that he upholds for our country. KBS does not have the right sever what he means to Korea."

The reps go on to point out that this is exactly what Japanese right extremists are attempting to do and KBS is just doing it with their own money for them (rewriting history and erasing important historical figures). The reps raise their concerns over the drama being exported overseas and creating a trivialized image of Lee Soon Shin through IU and downplaying his esteem as a historical figure.

1. [+373, -17] I just thought about this and I got chills down my spine. IU's already advanced into Japan and Hallyu's the craze all over the world, this drama will 100% be exported. Then to other countries like China and Japan, when they think of the name Lee Soon Shin, it will not be our historical figure but an idol named IU.

2. [+319, -8] I, too, was worried over the impact this drama would have on Lee Soon Shin's name the minute I heard they would be using it. To the adults who are familiar with history, it might not be such a big deal, but to our children and to foreigners who don't know who Lee Soon Shin is, this will definitely have an impact in the way they perceive him. DN, thank you for bringing up such an important point!

3. [+310, -11] Are you kidding me... I just searched Lee Soon Shin and got IU as a result..........

-

Article: Controversy, injunction filed against 'The Best Lee Soon Shin' to prevent the use of a character name

Source: Newsen via Nate

1. [+411 , -12] I didn't think of this, but it's right. Seeing "IU" come up when you search Lee Soon Shin... The thought of it makes me nauseous.

2. [+313, -7] I didn't think the controversy was such a big deal until I read the article and their points and I completely agree, they're right.

3. [+290, -12] This organization knows what they're doing

4. [+62, -0] Wow, daebak. Their reason for this injunction is just too right to even think of retorting against. And this is my first time hearing about the DN and it seems their job is to protect Korean history. I love their cause.

5. [+53, -0] The drama was clearly made for export, and to think that they're taking our country's hero, Lee Soon Shin, but also Japan's greatest enemy, and turning him into some kind of joke... really makes me question the producers' intentions. KBS needs to think this over.

TV: [Spoilers!!!] The Best Lee Soon Shin (Pilot)

Article: 'The Best Lee Soon Shin' will it become the best weekend drama?

Source: TV Report via Nate

1. [+1,964, -54] Of course it's the best, and by best, I mean just General Lee Soon Shin

2. [+1,694, -71] It'll fail because the singer's the lead and the actress is the support

3. [+1,662, -197] I'd rather Park Bo Young play IU's role

4. [+1,542, -197] IU really seems calculating... She knows that all the adults will watch KBS at that drama's time slot and that the drama will hit daebak whether or not she's in it... On top of that, the adults don't know anything about her scandal so obviously she's in this drama to sly her way in to getting popularity with the upper crowd... So calculating.

5. [+1,172, -73] I don't think it'll do as well as 'You Who Rolled In...' and 'Seoyoung'. The lead female role has to be talented to pull it off ^^

-

Article: 'The Best Lee Soon Shin' IU's anger, asks Yoo In Na "Treat me like a human being"

Source: TV Daily via Nate

1. [+458, -220] If you're a singer, just stick to singing ㅋㅋㅋㅋ She was really embarrassing to watch... like you could tell she was trying really hard by overacting everything. It's definitely not acting worthy of a leading role.

2. [+423, -218] IU's acting was......... I thought I was watching a sitcom for a second

3. [+268, -37] I definitely smell something here.. IU is the daughter of Lee Mi Sook and her father

-

Article: 'The Best Lee Soon Shin' IU falls prey to Kim Kwang Gyu impersonating as Jo Jung Suk

Source:
TV Report via Nate

1. [+270, -182] IU's acting was better than Yunho's

2. [+216, -64] She's all right normally but there's something awkward about the way she gets angry or expresses her frustration.. She takes it too far

3. [+215, -90] Seems like IU's company have released some staff onto these comments... Her acting was really embarrassing. And the plot is so obvious, especially with Lee Mi Sook being IU's mother ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-

Article: Pilot episode 'The Best Lee Soon Shin' maknae daughter IU's search for hope

Source:
Star News via Nate

1. [+214, -56] IU was honestly bad... and Yoo In Na didn't meet my expectations as well

2. [+214, -58] My mom and I watched the pilot episode... and all throughout... IU's acting was just so awkward.. She wasn't this bad in Dream High, but I guess since this is a real weekend drama ㅋㅋ and she looks like a little kid, it's hard to focus on her role ㅋㅋㅋ

3. [+140, -57] When Jo Jung Suk and IU bumped into each other and they fell down ㅋㅋㅋ burst out laughing ㅋㅋㅋ the guy was really good at playing that out

-

Article: Pilot 'The Best Lee Soon Shin' Jo Jung Suk and IU, an embarrassing first meeting

Source:
Newsen via Nate

1. [+219, -98] IU's acting is definitely not worthy of the role she's been given... What are dramas doing with all the other actors that can take these roles? And the entire time I was watching, I kept seeing Shin Bong Sun... IU always looked so pretty on music programs and variety shows, but I guess this is what they mean when they say a singer can only be a singer.

2. [+142, -17] Jo Jung Suk's amazing charms... ><

3. [+100, -11] Right away, I could tell Lee Mi Sook's daughter is IU. And Kim Yong Rim is a great actress... She really seems like an older grandma.

-

Article: 'The Best Lee Soon SHin' IU's acting "exceeded expectations" vs "awkward" divided opinions

Source:
Newsen via Nate

1. [+109, -35] It was awkward... and it made the plot that much more boring.. I changed the channel while watching. What am I supposed to watch in this time slot now?

2. [+106, -33] It was awkward. She was awkward while fighting with Yoo In Na.. and she just seemed really out of place with the cast.

3. [+107, -57] She's so ugly. I was switching channels and then I saw her spit out one line and changed it right away.

Same Old: IU at 'The Best' press conference

Article: IU in a short short one piece

Source: Star News via Nate

1. [+1,281, -242] I won't be watching this drama, sorry. I personally hope the viewer ratings suck as well so that idols can't be given leads in weekend dramas anymore.

2. [+1,049, -172] Aside from whether or not they can act, people have already expressed that they don't like idols going into acting and yet it's so weird how dramas insist on putting an idol in every drama... People should learn from 'The Chaser' as an example.

3. [+1,179, -656] Well... she's not a virgin anymore so she must think she can just do whatever she wants. Her innocent and clean image is all over now anyway, right?

4. [+120, -46] Anchovy: That part you're all staring at, I already saw the real deal

5. [+78, -27] Eunhyuk already saw everything

-

Article: 'Lee Soon SHin' IU "I was worried over whether I'd be able to do well"

Source:
Mydaily via Naver

1. [+321, -39] I hate her because she's so sly... She hit the top with her <innocent> marketing and now she's hit rock bottom... The younger generation probably can't tell but people like IU are so different compared to their inside and out. I'd rather deal with kids who admit to being rebellious and dirty on the outside.. other than hiding it like her.

2. [+271, -29] Jieun-ah, after your image hit rock bottom, I can't see anything you do in a positive light anymore.

3. [+228, -11] So this is how fast a person can hit rock bottom

4. [+232, -23] I bet she's just hitting on every male idol she sees now. Like going up to the kids that were intimidated by her since she was the nation's little sister and going why not? Anchovy popped my cherry, why won't you???

5. [+205, -16] I can hear the gears turning in her head so it turns me off. Such a sly little girl.

6. [+180, -21] IU and Lee Mi Sook are in this drama?... I should delete channel 7. I don't want to risk any misfortune of accidentally running into her face while changing channels.

7. [+158, -18] She'll be a natural in any scenes requiring anchovy fishing

8. [+155, -20] The Best Anchovy.avi

9. [+146, -13] She's gone from the nation's little sister to the nation's person nobody wants to see

10. [+117, -8] It's okay if your drama fails... You can still make a career out of visiting the nation's sickly oppas..

Kim Sung Ryung reveals she's been a supporting role for 26 years on the same day as IU's drama preview release

Article: 'The Best' Jo Jung Suk "With IU as my partner... People tell me that I'm a thief"

Source: OSEN via Nate

Calling someone a thief in Korea is equivalent to saying someone is robbing the cradle.

IU is the thief, why is Jo Jung Suk being called the thief

2. [+417, -31] I have no problems with idols taking smaller roles to show what they're capable of acting wise but I don't think it's right to give them leading roles. What do they expect actors to do? I will never understand how Yoo In Na is the supporting role.

3. [+330, -28] I don't even know who the thief is in this situation

4. [+58, -8] IU's the thief for taking a drama on a weekend prime time slot

5. [+53, -10] IU is the thief bi*ch....

IU transforms into a cute version of Chapelin and Marilyn Monroe 'Cute~'

Source:
Star News via Nate

1. [+305, -39] IU said she wouldn't go into acting and look at how fast she took up a leading role. But how is it that she's not even pretty enough for it.

2. [+284, -21] There's no reason to study to become an actor in our country anymore. Use that time to get into a big company because then you get to be a singer, an actor, and even take leading roles. You can be anything you want.

3. [+192, -12] The Marilyn Monroe transformation makes her look so old ㅠㅠ She looks somewhat like IU in the Chapelin version.

1. [+241, -26] PUhahahahahaha they look alike

2. [+233, -35] I mean... There are thousands upon thousands of actresses out there who have more talent, beauty, acknowledgement, and popularity than IU so why would they put IU in a leading role on a weekend prime time drama? If memory serves me right, this is her first real drama, isn't it? A leading role right off the bat??? Kim Sung Ryung has been a supporting role for the past 26 years... IU as a drama lead? How???? What did she do to earn it???????????????????????????????????????????????????

3. [+115, -15] I've been watching Queen Inhyun's Man and... the real actress is the supporting, and what? IU's the lead? Yeah well, try your best I guess ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I like Yoo In Na but I don't really feel like watching IU acting ^^

4. [+25, -3] What crime has Shin Bong Sun committed to deserve this ㅋ

5. [+24, -6] How can a face like that be a leading role... What is the industry turning into

Source: TV Daily via Nate

1. [+1,024, -47] A quality actress like her has been a supporting role for 26 years... While this dirty world gives IU a leading role at the drop of a hat.

2. [+609, -13] I've been watching Yawang lately and she's really surprised me.... If reality had such a daughter of a really~ rich family with absolute beauty... I'd say it'd have to be Kim Sung Ryung... She just oozes elegance and class... Body, fashion, face, everything about her is gorgeous ㅠㅠ

3. [+492, -9] A natural beauty with strong acting skills and a classy image to boot~ Do well~

TV: [Same Old] The Best Lee Soon Shin, Jang Ok Jung

Article: The Best Lee Soon Shin's first filming, "IU shines"

Source: TV Daily via Nate

1. [+597, -52] I'm not joking when I say this... but if you're going to let idols act, make them start from the very bottom. Don't even put them in a drama before they've garnered experience through theater... Seeing idols who don't even know the basics say they're going to act seriously makes me...

2. [+500, -45] IU's agency is seriously so powerful.......~

3. [+493, -53] IU seriously made me realize how important your image is as a celebrity... tsk tsk tsk

Article: 'Jang Ok Jung's first script reading, Kim Tae Hee's beauty 'receives attention'

Source: Sports Chosun via Naver

1. [+48, -7] Jang Hee Bin playing Kim Tae Hee ㅋㅋㅋㅋ What's funnier is Dongyi Han Hyo Joo is Han Seung Yeon It's going to be a Chosun dynasty sitcom ㅋㅋㅋㅋ I think this will be funnier than Gag Concert

2. [+39, -2] Kim Tae Hee's beauty was never the issue here... It's her acting.

3. [+42, -7] Kim Tae Hee should just stick to filming CFs.. I really can't stand her acting.

4. [+36, -2] Kim Tae Hee and Han Seung Yeon.... Puahahahahaha

5. [+39, -5] I can already imagine Kim Tae Hee opening her eyes as wide as possible and calling it acting...

TV: [Same Old] The Best Lee Soon Shin

Article: 'The Best Lee Soon Shin' workshop photo revealed, script reading attended by IU and Jo Jung Suk

Source: Newsen via Nate

1. [+312, -31] Doesn't even make sense how IU's the lead over Yoo In Na

2. [+189, -41] The drama would be perfect without IU... sigh

3. [+161, -18] Wow, it's Lee Ji Hoon from School 2013 *.*

4. [28, -8] Take out IU

5. [+20, -9] The drama will obviously 100% get a good viewer rating.. It'd be impossible not to.. Then the media play will start about how it's a national drama.. and how IU's now a national actress. Then she'll land another drama role... Sigh, we have an excess of rookie actors. Why, why won't they use them?

6. [+19, -10] I do admit to being a bit concerned over her idol image.. On top of that, the pressure of it being a KBS weekend drama.. But I just hope to see her working hard. Looking forward to it!

7. [+19, -8] Hul, Jung Woo is going to be in this ㅋㅋㅋ I don't like IU but I gotta watch for Jung Woo and Jo Jung Suk ♥

8. [+18, -10] Jo Jung Suk alone is enough for me to want to watch this... Then I saw IU and thought what the??? Then I saw Jihoon... Jihoon! Gotta watch it for him ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

9. [+15, -6] The supporting actors must feel a dent in their pride.... Considering IU's their lead

10. [+14, -8] How could IU get a leading role in a weekend drama on the prime time 8 pm time slot? On KBS to boot.. hul, does she have a sponsor?? This makes me hate her ㅋㅋㅋ Who does she think she is to be acting as the main? She'd still be hated on even if she were a supporting character. Really makes me curious who her sponsor is~

TV: [Script Readings] Gu Family Book, The Best Lee Soon Shin

Article: IU and Jo Jung Suk's first script reading for 'The Best Lee Soon Shin'... 'they match each other'

Source: Star Today via Nate

1. [+575, -63] Singers really need to stop acting. Do they think they're in any position to be demanding gagmen to stop singing? I wouldn't even care if these idols were great singers to begin with. While IU is talented, there are obviously many that debut as singers just to get into college with special treatment and bum around on variety shows and dramas... What an absolute nuisance to the real actors

2. [+503, -51] Putting her scandal aside, she's a great singer so I really don't know why she insists on acting

3. [+470, -53] Really? Journalist, you really think they match each other? Serious???

4. [+65, -19] Just go and sing, you can't even act

5. [+65, -19] You don't match the name of Lee Soon Shin at all...

Lee Seung Gi and Suzy's 'Gu Family Book' script reading, 'bickering from their first meeting, why?'

Source: Newsen via Nate

1. [+393, -152] Looking forward to Lee Seung GI's historical acting... Hope we can see more of his fresh image that he showed us in The King

2. [+299, -148] Can't wait until April!

3. [+289, -157] Oh~ Lee Seung Gi's so pretty.. Looking forward to his Choi Kangchi character~~~

4. [+99, -33] The singers are the leads and the actors are the supporting roles

5. [+86, -10] I'm putting my dick on the line to say this. I'm watching this drama purely for Suzy but if her acting is as crappy as it was in the 'Big' drama, then I don't give a fu*k if she's Suzy or not, I'm not watching. I may be a fan but I'm not going to support something that's wrong no matter how much I love her. If she sucks as bad as she did in Big, she's going to get all the hate and more so she better do well.

Yoo In Na confirms casting in 'The Best Lee Soon Shin'

Article: Yoo In Na joins the cast of 'The Best Lee Soon Shin'... to work with best friend IU

Source: Star News via Nate

1. [+614, -35] She must be pissedㅋ Her main career is an actress but she only got a supporting role ㅋㅋ while IU got a leading role just for being an idol;;;

2. [+434, -31] Another drama lost in the mountains... If they're going to use idols as leads in dramas, why do broadcast channels insist on holding open recruitment auditions for TV actors?

3. [+418, -24] Yoo In Na has never even played a leading role on public broadcast yet... I feel bad for her.

4. [+57, -5] This is basically like Yoo In Na singing on stage with IU as her backdancer

5. [+56, -6] They may say it's okay because they're best friends or whatever, but from an outsider's perspective, there's something clearly wrong with the situation. An actress is playing a supporting role while an idol with less acting experience is playing the leading role...

-

Article: Yoo In Na cast in 'The Best Lee Soon Shin'.... to play sisters with 'best friend' IU

Source: News 24 via Nate

1. [+80, -9] Are they sure they didn't switch the leading and supporting roles around?? Get your meds from a pharmacist, your acting from an actress.

2. [+54, -11] I'd understand Yoo In Na playing the role of Lee Soon Shin better than whatever this supporting role is. A real actress being pushed aside by a singer? I'll never understand this...

3. [+55, -12] They should've cast Shin Bong Sun if they needed a sister role for IU

IU's casting in 'The Best Lee Soon Shin' met with disagreement

Article: 'The Best Lee Soon Shin' IU and Jo Jung Suk, the reason there is more worry than anticipation

Source: Mediaus via Nate

1. [+621, -36] It hasn't been that long since she used her title as a popular idol to debut as an actress, so I wonder what the KEPA has to say about IU being cast as a leading female role by just her second try? If we apply their argument to their criticism of Infinity Challenge, "The addition of idols without any acting talent into any drama of their choice is a monopoly led by these large idol agencies. They are demotivating rookie actors and are attempting to collapse the drama industry."

2. [+404, -27] It's even more surprising considering that the drama is scheduled for a golden time slot. Could IU and Jo Jung Suk match?

3. [+406, -51] Is there anyone even anticipating this?????????

4. [+100, -9] If they're using IU, who's now in complete ruin, just for the hype, then they should also cast Eunanchovy as the second leading male role and turn the drama into a love triangle. I guarantee that you will record a 30% viewer rating.

5. [+100, -8] I'm a bit disappointed with IU.. How is this any different from getting into a college for being a celebrity? This is a perk... She said in an interview that she wants to work her way up starting with smaller roles, but I guess that was all just a lie to make her image better... IU and all the other idols, don't go into acting if you're not going to do it rightㅡㅡ

6. [+90, -6] Does IU have a sponsor???? How can she land a leading role on a prime time drama all at once??????

7. [+89, -5] I'm really begging everyone, stop using actors without the skills to back it up... If you keep throwing in faces because they look pretty, the drama ends up becoming some elementary school talent show...

8. [+65, -5] The viewer ratings will probably still do well since it's a KBS weekend drama... But we still want to see a real drama! One without an idol!

9. [+53, -9] Obviously people are worried since IU's crappy acting is on par with any elementary school student. And on top of that, Jo Jung Suk... There will be a huge gap

10. [+50, -4] I know it's wrong to pinpoint IU like this since there are plenty of other dramas with idols as the leads, but the reason this is so wrong is that this is the first time an idol is a lead in a weekend drama ㅡㅡ Do we really have to watch crappy acting for 50 episodes in a row? I really don't want to deal with that... How would Jo Jung Suk feel, someone who really took their time working their way up to finally landing their first lead role right now..

IU cast in a leading role for a new KBS drama

Article: IU to make an acting comeback... cast in KBS 'The Best Lee Soon Shin'

Source: Kuki News via Nate

1. [+454, -45] What a waste for Jo Jung Suk... I'd rather he work with Lee Yoonji again. Why do producers insist on sticking singers into these roles? IU and Jo Jung Suk as a couple.. It doesn't match at all. If IU doesn't pick up her act, she's going to turn this into something so elementary. How can she be paired with Jo Jung Suk, one of our greatest actors...!!! I was looking forward to this drama for him and just.. IU?.. Sigh

2. [+426, -34] Hul omona what in the world. They shouldn't use idols.

3. [+399, -31] Hul;;; a lead role;;;; on top of that, it's a KBS weekend drama with the best viewer rating slot;;;;;

4. [+66, -13] Are Loen and IU even using their brains anymore? IU's image is already down the drain and this was the best they could think of? Don't they know why people fell in love with IU in the first place? Because she sang well, she was innocent, she seemed like she had a good head on her shoulders, and was thoughtful. All of that is gone now and the only thing she has left is her good singing. Why not utilize that and make a singing comeback... That's the only way to bring back IU's worth. And a leading role as her first real role? Are you kidding me?

5. [+56, -10] Putting aside her history of being fake, I believed in her passion for music despite it all. But a drama? Don't even kid me

-

Article: IU and Jo Jung Suk cast as leading roles for KBS's 'The Best Lee Soon Shin'

Source: Star News via Naver

1. [+103, -14] Departing from whether or not I like her, it's hard for even talented veteran actors to have an opportunity at leading roles like this, why do they keep giving them away to idols? If producers are doing this simply because they want to use their fandoms, have some damn morals. There are so many actors that are barely scraping by, eating ramen just to stay alive, and they give these roles away to idols??? She wouldn't even get this much hate if she started with a minor role, what are these trashy channels even thinking putting idols in there? The actors should just get up and boycott.

2. [+93, -14] IU is just getting more hate by the day

3. [+105, -1-] Are they crazy; how could they give a lead role to IU?

4. [+82, -10] IU, leave the drama while you're ahead ㅡㅡ unless you want to be remembered as the national nuisance

5. [+66, -5] Even a minor role would be a waste on her
